I grew up in SACRAMENTO, The Mile is a Big Deal in the Biker community. The parking lot has more Bikes than 4 wheelers in it. The Parking lot and the grandstands is a Big Party... and there's races too!...I hope we alway's have the Mile going down in SACRATOMATO!
lol. Awesome race, Shayna. We were sitting in the grandstands just past the start/finish line. My 1st Grand National Race. Cant wait to see the races at the 75th Sturgis Rally!.
Back in late 70's , about every saturday nite we used to run with her daddy Randy Texter at the great little short track,Trailways speedway in Hanover Pa.
You gotta be kidding! Nothing dirty about it! She held her line,and he slipped off the groove,trying to make a move on the outside! She is not going to just let off the gas,and hand it to him! HE made the mistake!! Shayna doesnt have to resort to dirty riding to win,and she is quite capable, and safe,in close quarters,as she has proven time and again! Better watch it again,and learn something,before making an accusation of that levity!!
I must say Flat Track racing is very exciting when the bikes are so equal they have to draft.. Shayna timed it perfectly.. Maybe the smaller lighter rider has an advantage in the 1 mile races.. Too Bad Shayna is not competitive in TT racing.. She could win the National Championship if she could make some mid pack finishes in TT. There are very few Sports where Men and Women compete against each other.. In Drag racing the car and Driver must be over an exact weight .. If one car has a 220# driver and the other car has a 120# Driver they have to add 100# ballast to the car with the lighter driver..
Last time I was at that track. One guy died...But doing on a TZ750 two Stroke. Like King Kenny Roberts did. You need Balls to ride that thing on dirt....
Those bikes and the # 1 plate holder were not expert class. Still she is very good. I don't believe however that she will fare as well as a man when she hits the hay bails at 100+ mph. I was there. She picked them off one by one. It's my understanding that she has been on some kind or other of powered two wheels since she was three years old?

used to flat track 1/4 , 1/2 mile and TT from age 11 - 21
had 3 tracks in san antonio plus out of town too
Impressive. Motorcycle racing of any kind takes a lot of guts and catlike reflexes. She rode well.

Women on bikes always have the advantage. Sometimes 75 or even a hundred pounds lighter.

Best place to be is second on the last lap. You get the benefit of the Draft. Unless the other bike just has raw horse power..
