- Hey guys ! Trying out a new type of video, please tell me what you thought about it and if you'd be interested in more videos of this type. I've been getting some requests lately about a guide on warsong or just playing hunter in general, so I thought I'd give it a try :D

Special thanks to Perplexity for being my personal english teacher
Hello there, please don't forget to read the description for the BiS PvP List.
Also tell me if you want more (or less) of this type of videos in the future, if you do, tell me on what topic :D
Enjoy !
awesome guide, you should have a list/link of useful macros for hunters. I know there are quite a lot of macros that are good (forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=21017) but specifically which ones you deem the most useful.
@@joshreed9337 these wont work on classic since it uses the modern client
@@shadowkingd0m well shit.
The only macro I actually use is /script if (not PlayerFrame.inCombat) then AttackTarget() end
/cast Raptor Strike
/cast Counterattack
/cast Mongoose Bite
And ofc Skull macro
Do you think you could update that hunter PVP bis for WoW Classic Phases? I am sure a lot of people would be interested in that. I guess I am specifically talking about the super early game PVP bis, before dire maul/Honor system and before you can realistically get 8/8 T1. Cheers!
Dueling guides vs the best of each class! Would LOVE to see that
Yess
I normally don't comment on videos, but this was one of the most informed hunter pvp videos I've seen. I would love to see a guide on how to PvP, macros, pvp toys/items and how to win against each class. Keep up the good work!
bro, your gonna be huge if u keep making stuff like this. Even tho hunter is popular theres barely any good guides on RUclips at this level just shitty leveling guides. Thanks for this.
Edit: btw they tested lupos on beta and he is nerfed once tamed and no longer does shadow damage.
Thanks man :D
Yeah I heard, Wind Serpent will probably be the go to pet instead
@@Traque quick question. Is that 2nd spec you show, the marksman one good for pve as well? or do any of these serve as a good pve/pvp spec?
This marksman spec could be used in pve as well, but if you want to perform, I believe this would be the go to spec (slight changes depending on what raid classic.wowhead.com/talent-calc/hunter/BOQMMgAEONM3NAHA)
Of course this also means you need more hit gear (no surefooted = need 3% extra hit)
@@Traque Is going bm a bit for damage worth losing surefooted, imp. Wingclip health and increased trap resist?
@@agrious39 if you can get 9% hit from gear that is the go-to raid spec
Yeah this was awesome! More vids on wpvp or general pvp tips would be appreciated. Keep up the good work :)
The only thing I disliked was not telling to target rogues more during all phases of the wsg fight. They are more important to kill than warlocks imo and just as squishy, plus a hunter or a well geared warrior is the only real counter to them.
I came here randomly and i admire the SIMPLE and GOOD and TO THE POINT explanation. You even kinda made me wanna roll hunter for classic.
Glad I was helpful, join the hunter community :D
Dude this was the best video in ages!! Would love to see more. Maybe a more in-depth trap video with wsg focus. With different situations. Or maybe some more in-depth video about item swaps and consumables! Or just some 1v1 tips.
Loved the video 👍
Thanks for the feedback, I'll think about those :D
Awesome vid man, I'd love to see any videos related to hunters at a high level such as this one, what to do when a rogue opens on you without a trap, how to get a mage out of your deadzone, AV, AB, pretty much anything, even PvE stuff would be cool to watch from such a good hunter
Hi, thanks man, pve is not really my kink so I don't think i'll make videos on that topic, but anything about pvp, I'm down :D
Thank you for the extra effort for doing this in English with subtitles Traque!
That was a little bit of work indeed but fortunately I had the greatest English teacher by my side!
Dude thank you so much. Love this kind of content. Especially appreciate the bis list!
7:28 ofc drexxer is crying as always xD great vid baguette
Just a like for the best Vanilla WOW Hunter. I hope you can shortly stream the beta. :)
Thanks, I hope as well :D
Best Classic Hunter on RUclips, you have a real opportunity here to build up a big channel!
Thanks
As a multi-glad hunter I have to say it is a good guide and always important like you say to call things out. I look forward playing alliance this go around since most people will play horde.
Hi, thanks, means a lot to me :D
@@Traque lmk what server you play when it goes live. Love to play with some elite hunters
Love the video, I would like to see a video on your thoughts on each hunter race horde and alliance with a pros and cons!
Thanks :D
I'm working on it !
Can you make pvp 1vs2 break down guide how to fight rouges locks mages how to fight biggest Hunter counters with several pvp options since Hunter are as I see underdogs hard to master in general as ppl say huntards btw like your shadow meld freezing trap reset strategie
Thanks, sure, I'll think about something like that :D
I want to play Hunter, but my guild is rolling Horde. How superior is NE vs Orc? I feel like shadowmeld gives a lot more versatility as a Hunter.
It won't be as good in Classic because you get in combat as you fire a projectile instead of as you hit, meaning that feign death smeld combo won't be as efficient. Overall I think this change makes Shadowmeld as useful as orc racial, so don't worry about that.
This was very helpful, thanks!
I've been playing casters for ages and I'm strongly considering playing Hunter for Classic, however, I was wondering if you could go even more basic with Hunter fundamentals. Stuff like your macros, what to do when you get Cheap Shot'd by a Rogue, Racials and how they affect Hunters, the combos you can pull off of a Scatter Shot or a Grenade toss, notable weapons and their on-use effects, when to go Aggressive with your melee, Item/Trinket interactions, and any useful pet abilities. Simply, the sort of stuff that you figure out on your own after spending hundreds of hours on the class and having all sorts of "aha!" moments that aren't too obvious for people new to the class.
There's a lot of info out there but it's all so disorganized and questionable that I'm not sure where to even look.
My Pleasure to help!
I've been considering those type of guides but I feel like they won't matter as much as this kind of guide since the more basic I go the more it's possible that someone already did a guide about such topic. But if there's nothing like that available I guess that's always an option
You only french person that I don't hate love you dedication to Hunter class
Wow thanks that's sweet
That's also mean to all the other frenchies :P
Rofl yeah
More hunter pvp videos please
This is amazing, ive always had a hard time becoming good at pvp. I've realized that the biggest issue is my game knowledge, knowing what classes have what spells and what animations they bring etc. Hunter seems like a class heavily reliant on knowing what others are doing. Im going to pick up hunter in classic because of that. And ths guide makes life abit easier. :)
Happy to help :D
Great guide, would love to see guides to wPvP and the other BGs
Amazing video, looking forward to other guides in the future! :)
Just a quick question: How come you don't play Dwarf? I've been told that Stoneform is way better than Shadowmeld, but I guess this varies greatly depending on which is being played Battleground?
Night elf is actually way better than Dwarf in my opinion.
Dwarf is basically only useful rogue's poisons, dealing with rogue is not really hard as hunter if you have the proper tools.
Whereas night elf has that amazing spell being shadowmeld. You can use it in many ways, whether it is to set up an ambush or hide from opponents.
If it was only that, then it would have been a tie, but you can also combo Feign Death with Shadowmeld since it brings you out of combat to stop your opponents from casting twice in a row, this is super valuable considering casters are the hardest classes to deal with as a hunter.
So basically, Nelf is better as their racial ability is way more reliable in almost every matchup (+ it's super fun)
@@Traque I really appreciate your answer, thank you! :)
Great video! Loved the larger text this time more central to the screen. Please consider doing a Great Wizard style duel video if you get the time.
Thanks for putting in the time to create this and once again great video très bien!
Merci monsieur, I'll think about it although with beta and all, gonna be hard to meetup with great players :D
U are insane. Hunter POW 4ever. playing hunter for 11 years now.
Hey Traque, great video! Can you make another video on some complex things hunters need to know from being "good" to "really good"? Like weapon switching, intricacies, etc. Thanks :D
Hey there, thanks :D
That's definitely what I plan on focussing on.
I think most people can easily figure out the basics and slightly advanced things by themselves so guides really have a value when they are in depth and actually focused on complex mechanics
@@Traque super good philosophy! keep it up
These videos are great, I’d love to see videos pertaining to other bgs, strategies, hunter tips and tricks and how you approach each class and situation strategically, how you feel about alliance vs horde play orc/nightelf :)
Amazing! All aboard to hype train
Thenk you !
Loved the vid, do you prefer Night elf over Orc hunter?
Would like to know this too.
Shadowmeld is soooooo useful. Never played an orc hunter but i used to catch people slippin with shadowmeld constantly. Theyd be running across midfield and out of nowhere my cat would start in on them and theyd get a crit aimed shot, autoshot, multishot, autoshot, arcane shot..... dead before they had any idea where i was.
@@breed4659 Yeh i can definately see the usefulness of shadowmeld paired with a stealthed pet. Blood fury together with hardiness isnt bad either tho.
very useful guide, I wish other class specialists would create similar videos
edit: use music w/o lyrics during explanations so your words don't get mixed up with the music
Thanks !
I'll be careful about this next time :D
Do a Duels vs each class. Good, fun and informative content!
Hey Traque. Watched your vid a second time now because your accent is cool and your expertise is intriguing to my ears. I will be going hunter for classic and one concern for me has been pets. The idea of losing a pet because it dies a lot in pvp concerns me. I was curious how much damage pets contribute and if one running away is a huge burden? How often do you have to feed a pet as well? Thanks! I am super excited to play classic as a hunter. Trinket switching seems cool too. Vurtne videos showed me the importance of it. Awesome vid btw. Best one I've seen on RUclips
Jacob Hall hey, thanks a lot!
You don't have to worry about pet running away, it's only a thing early on, once your pet reaches loyalty level 6 it barely asks for food anymore and it won't run away unless you really want it to.
It does deal a fair amount of dmg early on but later on its more used to pushback casters
I'm 4 years late but amazing quality
With SoD most of this guide is outdated, but still good to know the basics
Traque. Please. More hunter videos.
Great guide , it will be rly helpfull for every hunter ! Keep it up!
Thanks :D
I did WSG with melee hunter... it was hilariously effective.
I guess it can deal some damage, but I'd rather stay far away and watch as my melee tank for me :D
Good shit homie! Ty
How come you didn't mention the scattershot/rest in survival spec?
It seems the strongest for pvp. more dmg/crit/hp/cc. It may have only weaker burst if you got renataki, since you won't be having imp multi shot.
Woow!!! you make pvp look so fun as hunter! I am torn between being FC druid or with my other choice of leveling Hunter to 60 first... I was kind of thinking not to do hunter because I thought pvp for them would be so drab.. but you totally turned around my thinking on that! I can't wait for phase 2 classic haha! do I go for hunt pvp gear or Druid gear first?! Thanks for the insightful video.
Hi, thanks, means a lot to me :D
Well if I were you, I'd go hunter first, because at launch is when leveling will be most exciting and dangerous at the same time. Hunters are the most powerful leveling classes so you would feel at east.
Nice accent lol :P
Great guide, very interested to see something like this for AB and AV
Merci merci!
I’ve always assumed Druid on offence for FC? Why do you think it’s better on Def.
Amazing video. Thanks. Can we get a dueling 1v1 guide for every class also? Thanks!
I believe Prisom is working on it, but I could get to it eventually
FFS HOW THIS MAN CAN EVEN BE A HUMAN (o.o') AMAZING VIDEO LUV U
Love this, but thank god for the subtitles :P JK :P
So in short i attack, with pet on aggressive, melee plate wearers and avoid warlocks at all cost, hope nothing got lost in translation
Yeah that's definitely it, always focus plate wearers, keep pet on agressive, always look for sheeped units and cast Tame Beast
@@Traque oh and of course be a good team player and keep encouraging Alex and Sam, as they are not french, so no where near as talented or confident on rogue
You got it :D
Excellent video! I think a lot of new hunters, interested in PvP, would like your insight on how best to fight each class. For example: How would you deal with an Enhancement Shaman who keeps using totems to eat your traps?
Hi there, thanks a lot !
that's a good topic of video but there would be a lot to cover, I'll try to make something like that if I have time
i dont play or plan to play hunter in classic but i learnt so much here great video.
how do you deal with fap rocket boot pushes when you dont have an offensive dispel on defense?
Great content, would love to see some AB guides, as well as WPVP and 1v1 guides
You said to spec your pet properly, but you didn't say what properly is?
great vid.
Thanks!
Very good guide,thx for this:D
Hi, thanks for the guide, a few questions :
- why spec your pet in arcane resistance instead of frost ? A frost novaed pet is useless.
- why do you put 3 points in humanoid slaying instead of parry ? 3% gives 60 more damages on a 2000 aimed shot, not worth 3 points in PVP imo, I'd much rather parry a mortal strike or a sinister strike.
- the blacksmithing trinket is only available to alliance fyi
Sheep is an arcane spell
-So, it's better to put Arcane for sheep than frost for nova, if mage nova's your pet, this means he won't have nova for you, and that basically means he lost the fight against you. So all mages keep nova cd for you, not for the pet.
-3 points in humanoid slaying is better than parry because you shouldn't ever need to parry melee attacks. Don't forget that humanoid slaying also increases crit damage. You make use 100% of the time of humanoid slaying whereas the parry should be useful like 10% of the time.
-Not sure about that? It should be both faction
@@Traque thanks for the answer !
Got it for arcane resistance, didn't think about the sheep.
I can't agree on humanoid slaying for PVP : even if you crit for 3000 (I guess you would need to be full Naxx geared) you get 90 damage more, not a fight breaker imo. But parrying a warrior execute might make all the difference.
If we're speaking about Glimmering Mithril Insignia yes it's alliance only, you can only get the quest from a dwarf in IF : classicdb.ch/?item=10418#reward-of
My pleasure to answer questions :D, it is for both faction : classic.wowhead.com/item=10418/glimmering-mithril-insignia check the comments
The humanoid slaying is passive on humanoid (+3% damage) and on crit (+3% crit damage) so that would be 180 extra damage on that 3000 crit.
3% Parry is extremely low and will basically give you one parry out of 33 melee hit.
You should very rarely get stuck in melee with a warrior or a rogue, and even if you do, you should have deterrence up by that time, it's only a 5 minute CD, and getting stuck in melee with warriors or rogue shouldn't happen more often than that.
@@Traque Oh cool for the trinket, I guess I'll have to go blacksmithing / engi now.
You're cheating with humanoid slaying :p It was 3000 total damage, crit included.
Still not convinced but since you have much more experience than I have, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt I'll test both talents once I reach 60 ;-)
salut mec, j'espère te voir bientôt sur Classic.
I'd like to see a guide on spots hunters can get to, I saw you climbing the walls in a different video just outside of the tunnel and I would like to know all of the terrain tricks
Hi, I did a little guide on those but I didn't cover every single jump, if you wanna know more there should be guides around, else just pm me on Discord :D
Excelent video. Can you give your opionion on races for pvp as a hunter. (I like tauren but orc seems better for stun ressistance)
Hey there ! Thanks
If you are going Horde, I can only suggest going Orc (female preferably as the Deadzone is smaller than male). Tauren's Deadzone will be 2y bigger than your usual Deadzone, which is extremely bad for hunters
Alliance side? Is creative use of Shadowmelding better than Stoneforming viper stings/crippling poisons/blind? EDIT: nvm answered below :) Good guide!
I'll make an in depth video about that
I love your accent! Keep ur vids up bud.
whoa a whole 5 years? amazing
Good job perp his English improved a lot
Jk
Good video thanks for the insight on hunter

best huntard guide out there for classic. keep it up lad' subscribed
is NE a best race for wsg/fc hunter?
Spicy video
thenk u !
How do hunter fare in pvp post AQ release and later? I have heard that their dps drops off a lot in PvE due to poor scaling, but i don't really care too much about that. What about PvP? Will warlocks start dominating us when they get hands on t3 scaling? That is where classic will end up it seems :)
I really want to play as a nelf but orc racial seems way too good to pass. What do you think of Nelf racial especially in wpvp?
You said to get pet resistances but how would you spend those points/what is priority for pet points :D
Hey dude, love your guide.
What do u think about Bm/aimed shot? Is it so underrated spec, or is a really bad spec?
Hi, it's only good in early game when you have shit gear, as soon as soon as you reach pre raid bis, you can drop and go 0/31/20
wouldn' t 8/8 t1 be better than 8/8 t2 due to the increased multi shot damage?
Could you please make a video covering tactics and tricks against every class for WPVP 1v1 situations?
Hi! I'll probably do that in the future yeah
Salutt ! belle video gg ! Tu n'utilise pas les frappes cacs ?
Merci, si, en burst en général
Hey I really enjoyed this video, hope to see more content from you soon :)
Thanks, will surely do !
How about the wyvern talent build but instead of wyvern get scatter, isn't that good?
Yes. Many do that
I'd like to add tho that you miss out on damage for multishot tho. Lightning reflex is only better once you have 600+ agi
Lol @ hearing Cadets funny voice/accent in the clips
Moar!
very interested in this type of content, what server is this?
Hi great video : I want a video about hunter races breakdown : horde (orc ) vs alliance (dwarf ne ) as an alliance u will fight a lot more low armor class so that’s beneficial and I would love to get a stoneform vs shadowmeld (combo) breakdown. Also which pets you use in pvp (serpents vs wolfs vs cats) and a breakdown if howl + zg trinket + aimed is viable.
Hi! Thanks!
I think I will do a video about races for hunter and compare both factions as it's often asked
For the pet : since lupos will be nerfed, wolf is just bad for pvp
Wind serpent is good for extra damage, I'd recommend taking it only in early game when you don't have a lot of dmg or if you didn't get broken tooth
Otherwise, the go to is broken tooth for sure
So na furious howl isn't worth it, the dmg bonus is great, but you lose too much pushback and ur pet is too bad for fights
vary cooL)
hey ur COOL
Bonne vidéo continue ! ;)
no counter attack + scatter spec?
For next guide: Skip the heavy music with vocals and use a more ambient sound instead.
Whats your client your graphics is retextured if i see right
It's the usual client but I downloaded a texture patch, you should be able to find it on the internet
how do you get in I had tried can get in
I would be interested to hear your opinion on the 21marks / 30 survival spec. Isn't there a point where the 15% agi outscales the trueshot aura and range spec?
The issue with that spec is losing 15% increased dmg on Multishot and 5% on all shots, it's not worth it
I've read that 600+ agi outscales mm. But 600 agi is late game raid gear so for awhile, not worth it. When 600+ agi, lightning reflex is a go to for pve too
rly nice video man
Thanks :D
Whats your opinions on a true BM class, speccing into pure pet dmg? particularly in early patches to benefit from their base dmg.
Another note, what do you think about scopids for Pvp, as dispelling poisons they may often dispel the lesser scopid poisons over your scorpid sting,
Hey there, true bm is only good when you have low gear in early game, once you have around pre raid you can go for mm.
Scorpids for pvp may sound like a good idea at first, but it is actually pretty bad in my opinion because it blocks all cc's for you and your team, and you can't cancel it unlike viper.
@@Traque ah thats some pritty good points man thankyou!
My dreams of a true BM scorpion raidboss is dead however.
nice vid man please do more
sure thing!
Nice content! Keep it up!
what do u think about full beast hunter with bestial wrath?
It could have worked if Lupos wasn't nerfed and did ignore armor but without that, it's no use. Because of pet not scaling this can only work in very early game/
What addon was that "Poly morph on you" ?
Hi, that was EnemyFrames
Synthwave music and hunters, what a sweet combo.
I wanted to play Hunter suv &mm hibrid for classic but I noticed that Hunter are underdogs in dps and pvp now planning switch to soul link lock for world pvp and bg top kills lock have way way more options for pvp situations since lock won 1v1 turnament and always in top kills in bgs and top dmg am I doing good decision for going lock for classic ? I was maining sp for past 12years and I am kinda Hunter at heart
You should play what you like playing (ok cringe answer)
Hunter is actually really good at pvp, warlock are good in pure duel situation where they get to adapt their gear etc, but Hunter is actually one of the class that performs really good in all dimensions of pvp, whether it's wpvp / duel / bgs they perform pretty good everywhere.
Also, Soul Link is super boring
Should never play a class because it looks to be the best. Just because that one person performs well, does not mean you will perform well, thus play what you enjoy
Hunters will always be good in pvp in vanilla because of cc. You are right for pve tho. They are good initially but do not scale well and fall off 2 raids later. Still better than hybrids, but the lowest pure dps. They have tranq shot tho and most people wont deny you unless you show you are a huntard.
I've been playing for 5 years now...
Hey man, how would you compare Hunters to Locks when it comes to BGs?
They're pretty hard to compare, I think I have an answer to this on my Discord server, otherwise ask me in pm I'll give you a pretty extensive answer :D discord.gg/aQDn96x
I have heard of a survival spec that goes 21 in marksmanship to get scattershot, while still getting the 15% agi with 30 in survival. Wouldn't this be a rather good spec? Especially for lower gear levels, since it gets a lot of hit chance and crit chance from talents, as well as good bonus agility and stamina.
This spec actually gets stronger as you get stronger gear, I don't recommend it because I think 15% dmg on multishot is just too good to be skipped, this spec could be OK once you're in t3
15% agi is good when 600+ agi. Especially good for pve tho
Great guide but only 50 players in the world play "competitive vanilla wsg"
Hey hopefully more thanks to this :D
Salut !!
super video man :)
thx
what is the actual benefit of putting so much resources into a single wsg fight in order to grind the ranks (honor per minute wise)?
Well if you only want to min max the honor you get out of bg's, you might as well just farm alterac and such on classic from what we've been told about the bg's.
And well putting as much resources into warsong basically allows you to force your way to victory which is really good in terms of honor. (You get honor for each flag cap, +3 marks instead of 1 if you win)
These type of games we usually happen to play on Henhouse rarely happens as if you're farming Warsong as a premade you won't meet other premades a lot, but when you do meet another premade, you need to be prepared to fight :D (or /afk and wait 15 minutes)
@@Traque the usual fast wsg matches last 7 minutes, arathi 5 bases are done in 5 minutes. the bonus honor from a bg win is much higher than the honor you get from kills (since you get less honor killing the same players all over again). alterac was the best to get the most kills per time spent. however, in terms of honor, you had to go arathi/wsg to grind for ranks. grinding so many resources for pots and engineering could only be done during the night, when there were not enough players that a bg could open up.
I did play 2x rank 14 in classic back, playing bgs from 11am-2am every day in the week whenever a bg opened. i can't remember that anyone of our team or the groups of the opposing factions ever had the time to farm so many resources to pull them on a regular basis. sure some pve groups here and then, seeing some thistle tea or slow fall reagiens was not uncommon. but when i see those guides nowadays i wonder if they are made for classic players?!
You should easily be able to get all those consumables whether you rank to 14 or not, this can be done by either good planning or simply having connections.
There's plenty of ways to make money, whether it is with the mafia, farming, or simply getting a lot of consumes ready before you actually start ranking very intensively. Especially if there is some downtime, it shouldn't be hard. Those consumes won't be worth a lot on AH as there will be plenty of them on sale.
If you are actually tryharding, having a lot of consumes shouldn't be a big deal, it's really easy to get if you invest the time.
What do you think of 21/30 down to scatter in marks with the rest in survival to get lightning reflexes?
It can be worth it if you have a lot of gear, but you lose a lot of damage on multishot which I really don't like. It is to me the most important part of the hunter's kit in pvp. You get more crit but smaller damage etc which is not good either imo. 0/31/20 crits less but crits way harder
As I have read, the build that goes down to lightning reflexes is very good in pve with 600+ agi. So it technically does more dps when reaching that agi goal. With that being said, 600+ agi is late raid so for a long while, lightning reflexes is not worth it
What about best trinkets? There were none in the gear sheet.
All of them are useful depending on the situation, might have to make a detailed guide about it
@@Traque do it :)
