Back in the day I held the record for renting AVP 84 times at my local video store. I was 10 at the time and my grandma used to drive me there and wait in the car for me to go and fetch it. Since my grandma was a teacher for many decades, the lady at the counter was one of her old students and allowed me to rent it regardless of age. My grandma is awesome!
The first AVP is a pretty good film in my opinion. Yes it doesn’t make sense canonically with either franchise, but I consider it its own elseworld’s story.

I still remember seeing that scene in Predator 2 where the xenomorph skull is one of the predator's trophies on the wall. One of those moments in film that still kicks ass!
How about Fede Alvarez and Neil Blomkamp direct and write it together. Take concepts from the scrapped Alien 5 movie and somehow incorporate the Yautja in there. It just has to be clever and make sense on how they do it.

THAT is how to make an AvP movie. Make it fit canon and set it in the future so there's none of this "Xenomorphs on Earth before W-Y even exists to discovert them".

I think an AvP movie would be a really bad direction right now. Romulus is successful at the box office, let us have Alien Earth, and after that make a few more connected Alien movies, or even a sequel to Romulus. But jumping right into AvP after this relatively fresh success is not a good idea.
I don’t think anyone is suggesting they dive right into. I don’t even think its on Disney’s mind right now. But yes at some point in the future (a decade or so) it would be nice for them to give it another go.

My pitch is this: Wait for prey 2 and predator badlands and place Easter eggs to SLOWLY hype up AVP. Don't pull a DC and throw everyone together at once. Hell even give us a Colonial marines movie, I'd be ok if it was without alien. But give us characters to CARE about. Give us a reason to even care about the predators, familiarize ourselves with that specific clan, give us stakes for the marine/human and predator sides.
That’s a good idea actually, following a clan of Predators and a USCM squad in their own separate stories and then bringing them into a 3-way crossover? I can get behind that.
I don’t want AVP, but I would LOVE to see a new Predator film set in the future within the Alien universe! 👀🍿 So, perhaps a similar vibe to Cameron’s ‘Aliens’ film (Colonial Marines sent in to investigate a colony & end up hunted by Predators). Or, colonists land on a new planet to set up a colony & it is already settled by Predators. Perhaps they discover a temple in the jungle.
The logical next step is either continuing David story but with Fede directing or going for Alien 3 (new direction) where WY tries to capture the queen and bring her to Earth
They seem to be set in different canons really, apparently the new Alien tv show will just ignore Prometheus, AVP world isn't really compatible with Prometheus stuff either but that's okay if they are kept separate, well except in the comics where they cross over. It's a bit messy really if you think about it too much
I agree. They should grow each Franchise individually like how the MCU did Phase 1-3. Definitely should take place in the future for the classic three pronged war with the Yuitja, Xenomorphs & Colonial Marines.
I'd like to see an Alien: Remus first, where we see the story of them picking up the frozen Big Chap and returning to the Remus with it, how all that pans out and how it ends up on the Romulus.
I still want the AVP anime that Disney canceled. That would be a great step in that direction. Its been finished for years. Put it out. See fans reactions, and go from there
Apparently, that really sucked according to the writers who worked on it because the director knew nothing about the franchises except ‘Aliens’ and had never watched a Predator movie.
I absolutely want another shot at AVP as a film. The concept is literal perfection. It’s the Peanut butter and jelly of film crossovers. It just needs a good direction. I agree that both series should operate on their own for at least one more movie each and really prove themselves again as juggernauts in the industry. But after that I’d love to see them properly crossover. Follow what the comics did, set it in the Aliens future and you’ll be able to make a damn good film! It won’t be Shakespeare but it sure would be fun.
How about a Colonial Marines vs Predator movie first? Marines are sent to a colony to quell an uprising, but it was a setup by Weyland-Yutani to use them as bait to capture the Yautja, who's escaped from an underground secret lab and trying to rescue its captive family. In the end, Marines and Yautja join forces against WY and evil CO. There could be Xenos in the underground lab for some AVP in the third act.
I'd like to see an adaption of the first AvP Game. Not storywise, because there was not much of a story in this game, but it would be awesome to see colonial mariens, Yautja(Predatores ) and Xenomorphes go against each other. I love this game. It was so cool to run around as a xeno, killing humans and facing the Yautja as somekind of boss enemy. Fede Alvarez would have all the freedom he needs, cause there is not much lore that you have to considere. The humans could join forces with the Yautja, because the xenos would overrun them. Or, they even join with the xenos, because the Yautja want to kill them all. There are so much possibilities.
I've always like the idea of snow,jungle and desert locations where the Aliens in particular and Preds.are the topography colours ie white,green and sand.
AvP should have been like the games. The AvP games had a fantastic story delving into Weyland yutani and their explotation of both spieces. If they do make another AvP film it has to go the way of the games. Not like the awful 2000's films.

They should have a few more Alien movies to set the crossover first along with a Predator movie tie-in, I recall the game Concrete Jungle set up how MOTHER was created and there were even a few Xenomorph enemies to fight near the end of the game. I would love another AVP film. I just want a good story, R rating, and some lore from the comics introduced. Also, I know it’s not a good movie, but I love AVPR for the Wolf Predator and the Predalien. Amazing creature designs.
Woohoo!!!! A Fede Alvarez AvP movie would _ROCK_ !!! Dan Trachtenberg has reinvigorated the Predator franchise with Prey (2022). I would like to see another non-crossover Predator film before we dip in to that pool again. However, if the concept is good and the production creatives are proven quality, why not?
AVP setting is good on the future and it should be like the first contact of the Colonial Marines with the Predators since Colonial Marines probably already engaged with Aliens before.
An AVP movie set on the Alien Home World with the Red Queen would be pretty cool. An Alien civil war would give the Predator and Colonial Marines factions a chance to establish themselves (without being overwhelmed). It could mix in plot points from the Covenant and Prometheus movies.
I like the idea in the future but not immediately. Let both franchises continue with on goin great sequals and give hints in each verse to both species
so just saw Alien: Romulus and i was amazed and happy to see a true Alien movie again. Overall it was great and i hope it will get the franchise rolling again just as Prey infused new life into the Predator franchise. About an AvP installement: I'm all for it (loved the first AvP movie, second one not) BUT i think both franchises first need at least one if not two more films to focus more on the Alien and the Predator seperately and most importantly (for the Predator film) they need to happen during the timeline of the Alien movies....so about 2100 in space. Then in each second new movie sprinkle hints and connections to the other franchise to then bring them together, as the Predators hunt the Xenomorphs as the ultimate prey and Colonial Marines are caught in the middle, being our POV.
I’m be down with this but I don’t think we should do it right away like wait after badlands and The Alien Earth series officially ends then do a AVP 3 film with Trachtenberg & Alvarez working together.
Actually for me, this is very encouraging. And the story of Machinko Noguchi would be really incredible if it was done in a similar manner as Romulus. Go to the books which existed before the comics but use both. Get a good USMC combat vet advisor. Lets rock!
In chronological order for my favorites: • Predator: Awesome entry • Predator 2: A decent sequel entry. • Predators: The Storyline I actually liked, though the acting could’ve been better. The Predator: the only reason why I like this movie is because it’s one of the few movies that doesn’t make an autistic character a stereotypical savant and is fully functioning and the humor was funny, but not entirely necessary. Alien (Specifically The Extended Cut): A awesome entry. Alien Romulus: Not bad interquel, but relies too much on nostalgia. Aliens (Specifically The Extended Cut): Love this movie to no end. Alien 3 (Specifically Extended Cut): I did first hate the movie, but it has grown on me similar how Predator 2 has grown on those who previously hated it. Everyother movie that they made actually just suck in my own honest humble opinion.
I like Aliens vs Predator concept but Making it Separate Timeline not merged it into Alien standalone Movie or Predator standalone movie. That's how can make it work like AVP Comics and Games.
It can totally happen now! They just need to adapt either the original comic book storyline, or the PC games' storyline like they should've done with the first AVP film.
AVP movie should be released another 1-2 Predator movies along with the new Alien show, release that finished AVP anime, and test the waters with that show’s ratings to see if ppl are really ready for another go at AVP
An AvP series would be ideal. Can explore different perspectives and characters, and encounters. Would love a story that included the Colonial Marines. Plus making it a series gives us enough time to focus on the various elements of each creature. Only concern at that point would be the visuals.
I like the idea of another AVP, but maybe after one more successful installment in both franchises before jumping to that possibility. Admittedly, I like the first AVP. It's a guilty pleasure for me because it introduced me to both franchises.

Would prefer them keep the properties separate for a good while as you say build them both back up again first. We have finally gotten a good Predator & Alien movie in the space of 12months no need to go spoil it now. However I wouldn’t mind a cheeky easter egg here or there though for the keen eye to catch.
AvP as a concept has real potential. There have been some great comic stories. Even the first AvP film would have been good if they'd just set it in the future on an alien planet and not earth in 2004 which undermined the original trilogy. I'm hoping the upcoming Predator 6 that's set in the future will have a Predator hunting Colonial Marines to set up a potential AvP later down the line.
I'd love a return of the AvP movies, when the time is right. If for no other reason than it might incentivize _someone_ (Nightdive) to finally remaster AvP2 and Primal Hunt. The best AvP video games ever made.
If they are doing a dusk till dawn thing, that would rehash the first avp. It would be awesome to see battles the size of Lord of the Rings between Aliens, Preds and Humans. Tanks, planes, the full modern world fighting with what they have against swarms of unrelenting bugs and Preds doing their thing. Imagin seeing A10s strafing lines in swarms of approaching Aliens would be worth the price of admission.
They should treat the predator franchise like an anthology. Its honestly surprising we haven't seen the predator vs cowboys or the predator vs samurai or the predator vs pirates yet. We just got a period piece predator movie with prey so they might go down this route in the future.
It would be better if he and the prey director got together and brainstormed more on how both franchises can eventually connect and maybe in the sequels they can start building up the hype like adding hints and stuff
I think it’s been long enough since the first two I know people didn’t like them, but I enjoyed the films. There’s a lot of aspects they both had that were enjoyable. And for me, they stayed faithful to both franchises
I think it would be cool to have a predator trilogy where it's set on the predator homeworld and it follows a youngling. The story is a youngling becoming a king throughout the years by going on trials, hunts, clean up of certain creatures, army leader, etc. I think that would be really cool. It would to be animated obviously.
Disdain for requiem makes complete sense, but why did people dislike the first one so much? I thought it was quite fun, some good practical effects in it to boot.
Yeah, the Resident Evil films were very successful actually, it's just trendy for people to complain about them but they are alot of fun really if not taken too seriously, AVP was a fun movie too
Although I was disappointed with Romulus I do think of Fede was to make another Alien film he should do something based on what actually happened to the Crew on the Romulus station when they salvaged the Big Chap. I know they skimmed over it in Romulus but it would be great to actually see how it played out.
We need a solid predator movie that leads up to AVP. Would love to see a movie about Ahab predator. I believe he’s the only predator in lore to kill an engineer. Would be cool to see that on the big screen
Agreed, the entire problem with AVP has been that they keep doing it in the present. The video games, the comics, the novels, they're all in the Aliens world of space colonization. Its a far more interesting setting especially to have an action film... the playing field is more varied and the options stakes and scale can be either bigger or more isolated depending on what the plot needs. Doung too much in the present creates a time line tgat gradually gets messier, like the MCU. Its cool at first, but the further you go the less it corresponds to reality whlie insisting its actually contemporary.
I would like to see an AVP movie set on a super massive colony ship that has been infested. Maybe the ship was taken over and lost a few years earlier. A Predator picks up the distress signal and recognizes Alien sounds or something. Then you find out there is a super small hold out of humans that survived but the Predator opens them up to the aliens in the process of looking for the aliens. From there a lot of different things. Maybe the Predator ignores them because they're not really armed, so he doesn't see them as a challenge. But then they get ahold of some weapons at some point and then the human element can be in the mix. Or you can just keep them unarmed and have them as a background b plot. Or have one of them assist the Predator in finding the queen or something. The ultimate goal of the Predator should be to locate a queen alien and collect it as a trophy.
I would love to see an actually good AVP but before that like you suggest I have to agree let both Franchise grow individually before creating a Cross-Over.

I agree. They should grow each Franchise individually like how the MCU did Phase 1-3. Definitely should take place in the future for the classic three pronged war with the Yuitja, Xenomorphs & Colonial Marines.
I'd like to see an Alien: Remus first, where we see the story of them picking up the frozen Big Chap and returning to the Remus with it, how all that pans out and how it ends up on the Romulus.
I still want the AVP anime that Disney canceled. That would be a great step in that direction. Its been finished for years. Put it out. See fans reactions, and go from there
Apparently, that really sucked according to the writers who worked on it because the director knew nothing about the franchises except ‘Aliens’ and had never watched a Predator movie.

I absolutely want another shot at AVP as a film. The concept is literal perfection. It’s the Peanut butter and jelly of film crossovers. It just needs a good direction.
I agree that both series should operate on their own for at least one more movie each and really prove themselves again as juggernauts in the industry. But after that I’d love to see them properly crossover.
Follow what the comics did, set it in the Aliens future and you’ll be able to make a damn good film! It won’t be Shakespeare but it sure would be fun.
How about a Colonial Marines vs Predator movie first? Marines are sent to a colony to quell an uprising, but it was a setup by Weyland-Yutani to use them as bait to capture the Yautja, who's escaped from an underground secret lab and trying to rescue its captive family. In the end, Marines and Yautja join forces against WY and evil CO. There could be Xenos in the underground lab for some AVP in the third act.
I'd like to see an adaption of the first AvP Game. Not storywise, because there was not much of a story in this game, but it would be awesome to see colonial mariens, Yautja(Predatores ) and Xenomorphes go against each other. I love this game. It was so cool to run around as a xeno, killing humans and facing the Yautja as somekind of boss enemy. Fede Alvarez would have all the freedom he needs, cause there is not much lore that you have to considere. The humans could join forces with the Yautja, because the xenos would overrun them. Or, they even join with the xenos, because the Yautja want to kill them all. There are so much possibilities.
I've always like the idea of snow,jungle and desert locations where the Aliens in particular and Preds.are the topography colours ie white,green and sand.
AvP should have been like the games. The AvP games had a fantastic story delving into Weyland yutani and their explotation of both spieces. If they do make another AvP film it has to go the way of the games. Not like the awful 2000's films.

They should have a few more Alien movies to set the crossover first along with a Predator movie tie-in, I recall the game Concrete Jungle set up how MOTHER was created and there were even a few Xenomorph enemies to fight near the end of the game.
Something like can work but it’s gonna take a minimum of 2-4 years of legwork to pull it off.
I think another AvP film could be good, if it's done right.
And lets have 3 films for each franchise (Aliens) (Predators) and then make a cross over
I would love another AVP film. I just want a good story, R rating, and some lore from the comics introduced. Also, I know it’s not a good movie, but I love AVPR for the Wolf Predator and the Predalien. Amazing creature designs.

Dan Trachtenberg has reinvigorated the Predator franchise with Prey (2022). I would like to see another non-crossover Predator film before we dip in to that pool again. However, if the concept is good and the production creatives are proven quality, why not?
AVP setting is good on the future and it should be like the first contact of the Colonial Marines with the Predators since Colonial Marines probably already engaged with Aliens before.
Has to be Alien vs. Predator that channels that energy from the Dark Horse comics and Capcom's Arcade game if they want it to be fun for audiences.
Move Pred into future like comics rated R. AVP was bad in its execution.
An AVP movie set on the Alien Home World with the Red Queen would be pretty cool. An Alien civil war would give the Predator and Colonial Marines factions a chance to establish themselves (without being overwhelmed). It could mix in plot points from the Covenant and Prometheus movies.
They should have done it off the Farming colony graphic novel mini series in Darkhorse.
I like the idea in the future but not immediately. Let both franchises continue with on goin great sequals and give hints in each verse to both species
so just saw Alien: Romulus and i was amazed and happy to see a true Alien movie again. Overall it was great and i hope it will get the franchise rolling again just as Prey infused new life into the Predator franchise.
About an AvP installement: I'm all for it (loved the first AvP movie, second one not) BUT i think both franchises first need at least one if not two more films to focus more on the Alien and the Predator seperately and most importantly (for the Predator film) they need to happen during the timeline of the Alien movies....so about 2100 in space.
Then in each second new movie sprinkle hints and connections to the other franchise to then bring them together, as the Predators hunt the Xenomorphs as the ultimate prey and Colonial Marines are caught in the middle, being our POV.
I’m be down with this but I don’t think we should do it right away like wait after badlands and The Alien Earth series officially ends then do a AVP 3 film with Trachtenberg & Alvarez working together.

Actually for me, this is very encouraging. And the story of Machinko Noguchi would be really incredible if it was done in a similar manner as Romulus. Go to the books which existed before the comics but use both. Get a good USMC combat vet advisor. Lets rock!
The surprise is that the alien and predator will team up against the galaxy’s most dangerous hunter.
In chronological order for my favorites:
• Predator: Awesome entry
• Predator 2: A decent sequel entry.
• Predators: The Storyline I actually liked, though the acting could’ve been better.
The Predator: the only reason why I like this movie is because it’s one of the few movies that doesn’t make an autistic character a stereotypical savant and is fully functioning and the humor was funny, but not entirely necessary.
Alien (Specifically The Extended Cut): A awesome entry.
Alien Romulus: Not bad interquel, but relies too much on nostalgia.
Aliens (Specifically The Extended Cut): Love this movie to no end.
Alien 3 (Specifically Extended Cut): I did first hate the movie, but it has grown on me similar how Predator 2 has grown on those who previously hated it.
Everyother movie that they made actually just suck in my own honest humble opinion.
I like Aliens vs Predator concept but Making it Separate Timeline not merged it into Alien standalone Movie or Predator standalone movie. That's how can make it work like AVP Comics and Games.
It can totally happen now! They just need to adapt either the original comic book storyline, or the PC games' storyline like they should've done with the first AVP film.
AVP movie should be released another 1-2 Predator movies along with the new Alien show, release that finished AVP anime, and test the waters with that show’s ratings to see if ppl are really ready for another go at AVP
An AvP series would be ideal. Can explore different perspectives and characters, and encounters.
Would love a story that included the Colonial Marines. Plus making it a series gives us enough time to focus on the various elements of each creature.
Only concern at that point would be the visuals.

Admittedly, I like the first AVP. It's a guilty pleasure for me because it introduced me to both franchises.
I want an AVP console game with Alien, Predator and human having their own unique single player campaigns and maybe a predalien campaign.

Alien is a superior franchise to Predator. They shouldn't be reduced to Predator pets/cannon fodder.

Would prefer them keep the properties separate for a good while as you say build them both back up again first. We have finally gotten a good Predator & Alien movie in the space of 12months no need to go spoil it now. However I wouldn’t mind a cheeky easter egg here or there though for the keen eye to catch.
AvP as a concept has real potential. There have been some great comic stories. Even the first AvP film would have been good if they'd just set it in the future on an alien planet and not earth in 2004 which undermined the original trilogy. I'm hoping the upcoming Predator 6 that's set in the future will have a Predator hunting Colonial Marines to set up a potential AvP later down the line.
I believe they should take their time getting there. That way, they can figure out what direction to go, and as you said, let the franchises grow.
I'd love a return of the AvP movies, when the time is right. If for no other reason than it might incentivize _someone_ (Nightdive) to finally remaster AvP2 and Primal Hunt. The best AvP video games ever made.
When Dan showed up in Hall H for Alien Romulus I immediately thought of AVP
If they are doing a dusk till dawn thing, that would rehash the first avp. It would be awesome to see battles the size of Lord of the Rings between Aliens, Preds and Humans. Tanks, planes, the full modern world fighting with what they have against swarms of unrelenting bugs and Preds doing their thing.
Imagin seeing A10s strafing lines in swarms of approaching Aliens would be worth the price of admission.
They should treat the predator franchise like an anthology. Its honestly surprising we haven't seen the predator vs cowboys or the predator vs samurai or the predator vs pirates yet. We just got a period piece predator movie with prey so they might go down this route in the future.
It would be better if he and the prey director got together and brainstormed more on how both franchises can eventually connect and maybe in the sequels they can start building up the hype like adding hints and stuff

I think it would be cool to have a predator trilogy where it's set on the predator homeworld and it follows a youngling. The story is a youngling becoming a king throughout the years by going on trials, hunts, clean up of certain creatures, army leader, etc. I think that would be really cool. It would to be animated obviously.
I’d like to see Predator : Musashi and Predator : Valhalla. That would be cool.
Disdain for requiem makes complete sense, but why did people dislike the first one so much? I thought it was quite fun, some good practical effects in it to boot.

Yeah, the Resident Evil films were very successful actually, it's just trendy for people to complain about them but they are alot of fun really if not taken too seriously,

Although I was disappointed with Romulus I do think of Fede was to make another Alien film he should do something based on what actually happened to the Crew on the Romulus station when they salvaged the Big Chap. I know they skimmed over it in Romulus but it would be great to actually see how it played out.

I loved 'Predators', on the jungle planet. Simple underrated and not a huge budget. Chuck in some aliens, keep Scott away and it'll be a fun movie 😊

We need a solid predator movie that leads up to AVP. Would love to see a movie about Ahab predator. I believe he’s the only predator in lore to kill an engineer. Would be cool to see that on the big screen
Agreed, the entire problem with AVP has been that they keep doing it in the present.
The video games, the comics, the novels, they're all in the Aliens world of space colonization.
Its a far more interesting setting especially to have an action film... the playing field is more varied and the options stakes and scale can be either bigger or more isolated depending on what the plot needs.
Doung too much in the present creates a time line tgat gradually gets messier, like the MCU. Its cool at first, but the further you go the less it corresponds to reality whlie insisting its actually contemporary.

AvP : Predator War
I would like to see an AVP movie set on a super massive colony ship that has been infested.
Maybe the ship was taken over and lost a few years earlier. A Predator picks up the distress signal and recognizes Alien sounds or something. Then you find out there is a super small hold out of humans that survived but the Predator opens them up to the aliens in the process of looking for the aliens.
From there a lot of different things. Maybe the Predator ignores them because they're not really armed, so he doesn't see them as a challenge. But then they get ahold of some weapons at some point and then the human element can be in the mix. Or you can just keep them unarmed and have them as a background b plot. Or have one of them assist the Predator in finding the queen or something.
The ultimate goal of the Predator should be to locate a queen alien and collect it as a trophy.
I would love to see an actually good AVP but before that like you suggest I have to agree let both Franchise grow individually before creating a Cross-Over.

Yeah I agree with you Mr H dude. I've got and read all the books multiple times. Even if they just make an AVP movie based on the novel 'AVP Prey' where we are introduced to Machiko Noguchi.. perhaps add a few Colonial Marines to the mix... then you have what AVP should always have been.
I want Alien Nerone (nero) crossover only after bringing back proper life to both of the franchises and needs to be super well directed.
