Used bottom of the barrel emulsion that I have had for 6 months and It was impossible to wash out cleanly no matter my exposure times. Im behind schedule, but at least I know WHY I was failing so I can learn from it. Thanks for explaining how delicate emulsion is.
You're welcome! 3-6 months if you can keep it in the fridge.
Thank you so much .. I have been screen printing for a while now just as a hobby and for family.. I have done many screens coating and exposing but for the last few days I have been failing to expose and wash screens.. I use the same exposure timing and same procedure but the emulsion wont come off where the design is.. and if it does after a lot of spraying, big portions of the rest of the emulsion comes off of the screen as well and ruins everything..
Now, the only thing I could think of is that I have had the emulsion container for at least six months or more and it had been in a shed in temperature over 100 degrees in NC. I think that might be it right?

Okay yes, the emulsion sounds overexposed and it can actually start to expose on it's own when in high temperatures. The emulsion needs to live in a cool dark space!

I can't seem to get all the emulsion out the screen.....I used the emulsion stripper and didnt all come out Andy other ideas or tips I can do to clear the screen?

Why is my emulsion coming out of my entire screen when I am rinsing out the design?
JC_GLASSHOUSE_ 75 could be old emulsion or defective emulsion.
could be you're not burning it for long enough

Hi there, can I use cold water to rinse out The Green Stuff? Or do I have to use warm water? Thanks
Using warm water will help more with degreasing your screen, but you can usually get away with using cold water. You may just need to rinse the screen a bit more than usual.
Should we put emulsion in the fridge? Regular fridge not a freezer.
A lot of people report that it has extended the life of the emulsion by storing it in the fridge. Freezing it will definitely ruin it though so don't do that :)

Hi! This question can have a lot of variables behind it. What exposure unit and emulsion are you using? How long are you exposing for?
Coating 1/1 and still get emulsion dripping . Any suggestions?
What happens if you keep flipping the screen while drying ?
Since I’m dripping , can I coat ink side then shirt side and let gravity bring it down again?
I don’t have skipping or thick emulsion it just keeps dripping no matter what I try with hard pressure .
Hey there!
There are other variables that can cause your emulsion to have a thick coat.
Control your speed and angle. Go faster if the scoop coater is laying down too much emulsion and tilt higher or lower to allow less or more emulsion.

Can you do a pwr emulsion video lol. That shit exposes in about 5 seconds
if your emulsions washes out while you wash out the logo whats the problems,?,i see pin holes popping up as well.and the emulsion washes out ..even with out using high water pressure
riflemania it means you are underexposing your emulsion. Or it could be that you emulsion isnt fully dry when you're exposing
under exposing emulsion? or under exposing screen during the burning process?..how long is long enough so it drys properly???
@@riflemania under exposing means "under exposing the emulsion on the screen during the burning process", it is the same. The length is different for every uv light setup, emulsion type.. you might need to run some burning tests first, google "exposure calculator"
how can we give metal resistant to our screen, or want to make very durable for longer use,
Unfortunately, we are not familiar with the process of making a screen metal resistant. Normally, we would just sand down our scoop coater to make sure there are no sharp edges that would scratch the screen.

what if you see little sensitizer grains in emulsion

D Manning what kind of emulsion is it? If the grains are enough to effect the print I wouldn't use it, if it isnt much than its probably okay.
the same as in start up kit the grains settle on the top of it can they be scraped off or strained
D Manning You may need to add a little water and then stir thoroughly to get it to mix in properly. Directions for Diazo: When you mix your emulsion, use luke warm water in the small sensitizer bottle. This will insure adequate dispersion of the particles. Make sure and mix the two components very thoroughly, until they become one color. Once stirred, allow the emulsion to breath with the cap, part way askew. It is ideal to let breath overnight, but you can use after a couple of hours.
