MAPA has been my all time favorite song from SB19, the song that initially led me to them. This performance at The First Take is one of their best with the special arrangement they made. Later, in your own time, watch again the video and turn on cc. The added charm of this song is its lyrics, conveying utmost gratitude to ones parents. For me it always serves as a warm hug from my parents and other beloved elders now long gone.
Hope you continue on exploring the music of SB19, it is so worth the deep dive..both for their group songs and also for their solo projects.

This was written by Pablo (with the help of the other boys) during a time that they were so busy with local events and regional concerts that they had not been home for a while. They have said that Pablo happened to ask them, as they were doing their laundry, what they wanted to say to their parents... and MAPA was born.
Pablo is a master of word play - so while MAPA does mean map, it is also representative of Mama and Papa (MaPa). In the song, Pablo equates mom's to kids' eyes (in Tagalog, eyes are 'mata') and dad's as their feet (locally, the word is 'paa') - ma/pa.
One last tidbit... Pablo is also responsible for lyric distribution as well. He specifically asked Josh to sing the section dedicated to fathers... when in reality, Josh was raised by a single mom and has never met his dad. So him singing this part is particularly emotional.
Oh my gosh, Pablo is like a good older brother! I can imagine how hard that must have been initially for Justin - but watching him sing his lines in first take, he seemed very happy and at peace. I had no idea about the different meanings behind the name, thank you for explaining ✨✨✨
The height reference is from probably 6 years ago. They were still young back then and I believe they still grew couple of inches especially Justin and Ken since they’re the youngest and still capable of growing.

Justin is the tallest, I think he is 5'9 or 5'10.
Pablo is a great lyricist, composer and a leader, he just received an award for Best Composer of the Year. Pablo also assigned the parts of the lyrics to each members based on their vocal range and capabilities so everyone can shine.

if 5'8 is Pablo's real height, then justin is 5'9 or 5'10 because justin is obviously taller than pablo when they're standing next to each other for the past five years.. josh at 5'6 is up to justin's eyebrows. ken is taller than josh, closer to stell's height so i really think ken's 5'7 too
The First Take had English subtitles in their videos. 😁 following along to the subtitles while they sing will really make you cry the first time 😭
I agree with you on their heights. I think Justin was maybe 5’8” when he was starting to train with them around 18-19 yrs old but through the years, 6-7 years now he’s grown taller. They haven’t updated their bio data yet.

The infos about their height is wrong, not updated. Justin is 5'10," Pablo and Ken are 5'8", Stell is 5'7", and Josh is 5"6'. Mima, the one in-charge of their outfit confirmed Ken's height. He grew up few centimeters from way back SB19 started.
