Now down to the upgrade to my hyper lightweight summer kit and believe me it has been tried and tested as I was up on the pennine way with this exact setup during March and god did we hit a cold night. but that another video yet to come.

Yeah, I have the non-enclosed one of these as a quilt cover too. Use it in my liteway illusion & tarpstar without the inner.
Ironically, being older I find I have to carry more, comfort becomes a bit more necessary, I have to have a sleeping pad, a mat doesn't cut it anymore, tent wise I've gone with the Naturehike Vik 1 as I'm quite a big bloke and need more space, it's also single skinned so I use a lightweight bivvy bag. I've just ordered a Tomshoo bivvy bag (same as yours I think) to replace my Alpkit Hunka XL (great but too heavy for summer) so I should be good for my Camino in September. Enjoyed your reviews, have a sub.
To be honest I only started the reviews not long a go & I think there good fun. I seem to get more interaction with people hence that’s why I enjoy it more than a hiking vid sometimes.

Just curious... If you were to start over with your gear would you get the non pro lanshan and sack the bivvy off as you wouldn't need it or would you get the same setup again?

@@escapeoutdoors. They do an extra long version of the non pro now (lanshan plus) so less chance of the mesh in your face. You could get the 4 season version, that way you'd still get the extra warmth plus you'd get the freedom of using your quilt as intended and not be restricted by the bivvy. You can also separate the fly from the inner during transit on those multi day hikes to keep the inner dry and just shake the outer fly off....

@GrizzlyGaz yeah slightly. Aaron and I were both using them at high Nick cup on Friday night. It wasn’t fun put it that way. We hiked for about 2 miles we couldn’t see 4ft in front of us. It was a proper shocking night with the gales. But the bivvy done me fantastic 🤙🏼 it really was spot on.

@GrizzlyGaz we would have stayed up there this weekend and got to Tan hill. But family commitments come first. & we don’t wanna get caught out on moor land in bad weather our next stretch is Middleton in Teesdale to Keld via the Tan pub 👌
