Very nice instructional video. Thank you for documenting every step meticulously. After many years of ignoring the problem and having to use my key to lock and unlock my car I finally mustered the courage to buy the actuator and follow your video to repair my driver side door. I can now lock and unlock remotely again. Feels like a new car again :). Thanks again.
👏🏽👏🏽 nice work!
Very helpful, thank you! Got both front doors done in a couple of hours.
One note to others, if you have a handle on the door panel, as mine does, there is also 2 screws behind that behind a trim piece. Took me a sec to figure out why the door was not coming off.
Before taking the door apart, make sure you can get the 3 Phillips head screws at least loosened first. This can be the hardest part of the job, and usually means a trip to Harbor Freight for an impact screw driver if you can't
Yep, had to use impact driver and a good electric wrench. Them screws are tough
I used a small butane torch to help losen the screws, that was a major obstacle at first
Thanks for confirming my plan! It would really be a pain to get the panel, etc., off just to realize you can't get the screws out!
My bolts stripped what should I do

In my 2006 Honda Accord, the door is locked and I cannot open the door! How do I open the door to fix the actuator ? Do you have a video on that ? Please link that video. Thank you and best wishes
Here’s the link ruclips.net/video/KiwOMica-Bg/видео.htmlsi=6PbcN3CYcDvYOjaf
@@NutzAboutBolts Thank you for your quick response! ... Really appreciate it. Best wishes.
I have a question
Do i follow the same for the Driver side ?
If I have a remote alarm/control for the doors does it affect anything? If i change the acuator?
Yes, it should be the same procedure for the driver side. As for your alarm, I’m not too sure, but I assume some are tapped into the wires to control your door locks.
Would the driver side use the same method (different part, of course)?
Yes
To remove the three screws you need a ph3 screwdriver trust me it's the easiest way
What if the door is closed and it won't open... then what
I have a video of opening the door from the inside.
@@NutzAboutBoltsplease post a link to your RUclips video on how the stuck locked door can be opened. I have this problem I cannot open the door.! Thank you and best wishes
My driver side rear door is making loud noise when it unlocks, im talking loud buzzing noise, for a few seconds and then goes away, is it my actuator?
Only way to find out is to remove the plastic panel and inspect if it’s the actuator or the mechanical parts…
i followed the instructions but was struggling to get the panel off so i rolled down the window, got it off but then the window wouldnt go up, and now i put it all together and taped it shut but the window only activates going down and not up, any ideas what i did to cause this? i shouldnt have done it by myself tbh
You need to roll the window down to remove the panel anyways. Did you replace the actuator with a new one? Was it working before you couldn’t roll it up? Could be a bad window regulator if it’s giving you issue. Or somethings not put back together properly…
So my moms accord, the driver side actuator is broken and the door is also close. The remote for the car doesn’t unlock it and I also tried pulling the rod manually up and down to try to unlock it but nothing is clicking in the actuator. With the door closed and locked I can’t get to the 3 screws on the side of the actuator any ideas on how to solve this problem or how to get the actuator out?
Try to pry out the plastic door panel as best you can, the only way is to that where I showed in the last video on what to pull, or try a door skimmer to try to pull on the rod with the windows down...
My best bet is to go through the door panel since the 2 pieces to pull is covered by the door actuator plastic piece I showed in the last video
Great
How can I fix the cable from the inside handle my is broken
Replace it if it’s broken
What do you do if door stuck shut
Remove the plastic panel, you’ll have to remove some screws on the door handle and then pull back the panel to pop the clips off and pull back to remove the panel and go from there where I showed you go pull on the inside device to open the door. Hope that helps.
Is this why my door only opens when I manually hold the lock up?
yes, the actuator helps push and pull the rod up and down so that it'll unlock and lock the door. If you have to manually pull the rod up to open the door, then your actuator could be bad.
will this part work on both v6 and v4 accords?
Yes,
V4😂 poor guy
Very easy but painful and takes a long time. Part costs around $25 for my Honda....I had to replace mine at around only 50K miles....made out of plastics and did not last.
Wow, Honda was trying to charge me 50$ just for the parts. I bought mine for 12$ on Amazon 🤣🤣
@@NutzAboutBolts That must be aftermarket and not Honda because you cannot get any Honda part for $12----well probably a washer, nut and bolt....
@@trankt54155 yep, it’s not oem, but still works. 50$ is pretty pricey.
i got mine for 6 dollars i ended up doing my driver door yesterday after being quoted 200 dollars a door for 30 minutes of work
@@mogtrader8 I don’t have the car anymore due to cat theft, but it was working when I replaced it.
On which page can I buy the actuator?
I bought mine from Amazon, you can find the link in the description box
this is an excellent video - if I play this to to Honda Dealer shop they would realize they would have to be careful how much th labor they want to charge at $160.00 per hour 🤔😵💫 Bravo
Ouch, that’s a little pricey, but that’s dealerships for you…
I cannot get those 3 screws out
Get an impact driver
Where is nick? I hate when it is not nick doing the clips.
they don't make it easy lol
😅
nice video brother. i broke my shit trying to remove the interior door handle cable and needed a reference video to see how bad i boned myself lolol. not bad. thank you.
No problem, glad the video helped 😁
