Won 4x100 women’s. 110m hurdles 2 medalist. 100m hurdles gold. 400mh gold with a WR. We even had long distance runners who won with hocker and Nuguese. You have to give USA their props. You love track but is very biased. Botswana is coming to take Jamaica spot as the small African nation to dominate sprinting. USA has always been on another level. So if that’s all everyone is doing of course you going to find talent. If sprint paid as much as tennis in the USA it would be over for the world for sure. People run because of the love of the sport. Most sprinters are broke and have to rely on their college degree for money.

Yea some Jamaicans leave the island to train overseas but the majority stay. A country 10 times the size of Jamaica should be killing it in the sprints as they have more resources and modern medical facilities to look after their athletes. More simply, America has a much bigger pool of talent pool to draw from, yet still Jamaica is punching way above its weight and winning. You can't play that down no matter how hard you try.

Jamaica is not done with but its certainly a changing of the gaurd for sprints going back to America. JAM won't be competting with america how they use to for the next 10 years if not more & And that is what i think jamaicans are so uncomfortable with......the only way i could see JAM coming back to the glory days is if they change their mentality. Open their minds.....things like having a mental coach is a great option and its not indicative of any weakness. When u feel like u can't go on lets say out of pain, sharp mental exercises can trick the mind to push all the way through for the medal. Having a personal chef that reduces mass, elevation training. Swimming, training in a oxy mask, it can boost 40% of stamina. These are all methods that jam is not comfortable with and its the reason why the island will have a long dry out for track. Once people open their minds things will get better but thats no time soon looking at the current mentality.

Technology is advancing with all the things you’ve mentioned to include hyperbaric medicine and chambers to expedite healing. Cryotherapy for muscle recovery and to reduce the effects of lactic acid buildup. There are so many equipment and techniques. Like running in the pool to reduces stress on you joints after injury. They only had one physiotherapist for Paris. They didn’t plan ahead for living conditions and food preparation. USA hired their on chefs and constructed their own living facilities in the Olympic village because pig without AC in the summer is not an option.
Really hope we can evolve and embrace some of the newer tech in our training and preparation of our athletes. The mental coach would definitely be a plus.

From an all around aspect, no, Jamaica is not right now, on a reset with the younger talent which is fine. More all around athletes are needed and not just one dominant athlete per event. There was Bolt, Blake, Powell and the triplets for the women. Along with the sprint hurdles male, female and jumpers. Jamaica is resetting, 2 more years to be in full effect to say dominant again. The USA women from are still ahead of Jamaica and they are young so advantage USA.
