Pretty accurate video, I almost 100% agree. Not sure about the Santa Fe, as I don't trust Hyundai/Kia, but other than that I think you are spot on. We have a Camry and a CX5, along with a Tacoma, quite happy with all three
I’ve been driving Japanese cars for years like Subaru forester, Toyota land cruiser, Lexus rx, Toyota Camry etc but they all had one issue. They’re boring. Reliability is no issue since you take care of your car properly. I’m driving Jeep Grand Cherokee wk2 hemi now. According to the internet It’s not the most reliable car but it’s worst. But mine’s still running with 200.000k miles with zero issues. It’s fun, it’s has features with no Toyota’s have and it’s good looking. Also maintenance isn’t that bad. In Mongolia we have terrible road conditions with -35 Celsius in winter and +35 in summer and i have no garage and we went off-road like every week. Still no issues. It’s not the car, it’s how you take care of it.
This video should NOT include any cars that are brand new (Especially with totally new redesign) because the course of time hasn’t taken its toll on the wear and tear of the car yet even if it’s Toyota or Honda !!!!
I have driven Foresters since the 90's. Take care of it and you're safe. Head gasket problems in the past are long resolved. I now have the 2025 hybrid.
How about direct injection and carbon builts?? I have driven Forester since 2000, including a 2017 XT (live it) and now a 2023 sport.....The only problem with this last one, the damn driving assist, TOO MUCH... but love the brand/product...
I don’t disagree with this video per se but… my Pathfinders frame rusted and broke, my Land Cruiser rusted out, I rolled my 4Runner. Never had rust or have been in an accident in BMW, Volvo or Audi 🤷🏼♂️
My Prius insurance almost doubled because of the dual fuel/battery proportion. I have no accidents. I traded in a mini cooper S and my insurance was $250 for 6 months. The Toyota costs me $800 for 6 months.
If you grow out of the so called Japanese reliability, congratulations to you because obviously you have been successful enough to demand better stuff in life! Only the penny pitchers care about the Pennies, the successful ones demand safety, performance, design and image of the cars they drive! I have a minimum demand of the car size because it’s life and death choice! Assume you drive a car got hit by a truck on an interstate fwy, do you wish you were driving a Toyota tin can or a BM W X5? My minimum size of the car to buy is a BMW X5 or a MB GLE! Both are very reliable and fuel efficient and I value my life more than the few dollars I save!
Ironically I remember reading that in Europe they generally desire cars that handle well to avoid accidents while they say Americans rather buy something huge that will make sure you survive the accident, but may not handle well enough to avoid it..

Actually is not the worst. That's one of the few Jeep that I would buy without worries

New car haven’t proven themselves

Just bought a 2021 Rav 4, Ltd., with 85000 km.. They want to sell me a 4 year warranty for $3500. Should I bother?

Hyundai is pronounced like "Sunday". Just saying.
No Corolla but there's a Hyundai in there ? Smells fishy
