@matthewhunter6421 The D didn't lead with the crown of his helmet or make forcible contact to the head or neck area. This has been the consistent application of the rule this year. Just because helmets touch does not automatically mean targeting as many would lead you to believe
The obvious targeting the refs decided not to acknowledge with one minute left in regulation almost certainly cost ASU a well deserved all time best of college football moment, an amazing comeback victory and instantly delegitimatized the first ever college football playoff. It occurred simultaneously with the defenseless, immobilized receiver was being tended to by emergency physicians. It was disgraceful and sickening.
For a group who watches football, y'all seem to forget how long the Texas defense was on the field in the first three quarters. I don't care how good a defense is, you let you defense stay on the fieldnthat long through three quarters, they're going to be gassed. The Texas defense only gave up 6 points nearly mid way through the 4th. Plus, no targeting. No launch, head was up, and he wasn't defenseless after the WR had time to turn his head towards the safety. It was borderline sure, but not all hard tackles are targeting.
No mention of the equally as hard hit with a forearm follow through to the face on the interception that changed the game, or the weakest defensive holding call possible on the game tying 2 pt conversion. That same “rules expert” has been wrong about targeting calls all year as well, but he didn’t say it was targeting. 😂 He said he wouldn’t be surprised if it was ruled targeting. Now, I was worn out by the overhyping of Texas as if they’re this juggernaut that can’t be stopped. No Texas fan who’s seen that school win a title thinks that this team is head and shoulders above anyone. ASU played their butts off and represented the PAC-10… I mean Big 12 proud.
Wonder how much it cost Texas to get the refs to not call that obvious target call wow they couldn't let a big twelve team win even though they should have won
How much did Arizona State pay the refs to not call targeting against them when they took Isaiah Bond’s head off? How about 10 penalties were called against Texas and only 6 against Arizona State. If the refs helped either team it was Arizona State.
How can Fake Troll say with a straight face that Sam outplayed Ewers? Sam had 0 TDs and a game-ending interception. Ewers had 3 TDs and a pick. And added a rushing TD. Scat put this team on his back with no help from Sam.
Spend all that time on the “targeting call” but no mention of everything ASU was handed by the officials. What the hell was that first down ball spot after the review? The ball didn’t even get close to where they spotted it. Maybe talk about not being able to get a stop on 4 and 15 for the game then giving up ANOTHER TD on the very next play. Talk about Skattebo catch in OT where it popped out of his hands when he hit the ground. If that ball popped out in bounds there is no doubt they would’ve looked at the play. Throwing a pick to end the game? Nah? Maybe? Nah? We just gona keep crying about not getting free yds on a tipped pass though?
You want the targeting call against Texas but don’t want to give the missed targeting call against Arizona State. You can’t have it both ways. Oh, Arizona State did control the time of possession but Texas averaged more yards per play than Arizona State.
@ The one on Bond? It had ZERO effect on the play. Ewers made a bad pass AND Bond was hit around the chest area. The hit on Stovall the dude hit him with the crown of his helmet against defenseless WR.

You really think the NCAA was going to miss out on major revenue by having the longhorns lose?? Come on, we all know it’s all about the $ now. The players that stood out for Arizona State will probably be on the longhorns roster next year. The longhorns will make it to the championship game so those in control can bank in. Everyone knows that. Arizona State was never going to win this game, even if it went to double OT. The longhorns are just that bad to be given all the opportunities to win and still could not do it until the second OT. What a joke.
Going of the written rule, there was no ‘indicator’ of targeting so they didn’t call it. On the Ewers interception, the Arizona St safety took Bond’s head off there and that could have easily been flagged as well. The horns got the brunt of the flags so to say they got screwed by the refs is embarrassing for yall.

So since this is a discussion of the rules, how was the ASU OL allowed to “pull” Scattebo over the end zone. “Pushing” a ball carrier is legal. “Pulling” the ball carrier is a penalty for Helping the Runner.
The UT player is leading with his helmet -- he lowers his helmet at the point of contact-- this is worse that the targeting call on Arizona St that cost them a key defensive player. Dude makes less than $20k on this show.....he needs to scratch every penny he can.
Let the tears flow 😅
That’s the difference between the big 12 and SEC. SEC hates losing by 1 and the big12 loves losing by 8
Forks down. Horns up. All that trash talk and no win. Serves you right. 😂
Oh spare us, you troll. Texas got the W by the skin of their steer
Lol, it wasn't even supposed to be close. They should have lost. They're not good or ASU is good. You can pick.
@@PNWUte better than a L
Yeah the 13.5 point favorite got soooo much trash talk. Yall Texas fans are just sensitive.
@zacharypatterson3110 guess we know who the better QB was. 🤘
You are such a baby
If any of these fools actually understood the rules, they would know that was not targeting. Or watched any games with non-Big 12 refs.
It definitely was targeting. Since you supposedly understand, tell us why it wasn't targeting.
Shouldn’t have blitzed on 4th down but it’s easy to say in hindsight
ASU played their butts off and represented the PAC-10… I mean Big 12 proud.
lol, wasn't targeting. Didn't lead with crown and wasn't forceable.
How were you robbed? On to the Cotton Bowl Horns!
Crybabies are unwatchable!
Talk about getting robbed…O lineman literally carries Skattabo 2 yards over the goal line. Illegal as hell. Loss of down and 10 yard penalty. 😩
Here we go crying 😢 looser victims.
loser* and it’s ok bc Texas will get blown out by Ohio state, and should’ve lost to ASU
4th and 13, live with that until next season. Hook'em 🤘🏼
Time of possession, yards, etc. ASU dominated Texas and got robbed by the refs. Insanity.
Is it me so the first round home team dominates second round those with the bye start rusty and end up coming on strong late but the distance is too big to cover first two games seemed that way and it looks like the OSU oregan game will be the same
Silly experts: targeting isn't called against an SEC team playing a non-P2 team
bro, uga got 2 db ejected against texas on less egregious hit. this isnt a sec thing, this is a texas thing.
@@g2gCtheno Texas didn’t get red privilege often in the big 12 now they get it in the sec. Uga and bama have gotten help for awhile the few times they need it for a spark it’s a espn sec thing
if sec that big and mighty what happened today? and what happened in the Cotten bowl against Ohio state
@@jonathanwrehe8015 if it's an sec thing, uga db wouldnt have been ejected but heh
Exactly. We own everything. So sit down and shut up.
I love this vent session for all these teams on the couch 😂😂 enjoy Cancun 😘
I’m hearing Scataboo possibly has massive CTE injuries. What a mess. And possibly internal injuries
Wanna complain about the targeting but not those 2 awful ball placements that gave ASU first downs. Okay.
ASU did not deserve to be in a playoff with SEC teams. Every team in the SEC would have beaten them in a matchup, so consider the chance to play a blessing.
TEXAS, Dominated az. state. Worn them out! Big-12 Champion 2 years in a row 😂
(We all can play your silly game Drake). btw, TEXAS Has the Best QB! Fact!
For those who don’t understand the concept of the statement above, I’m MOCKING the title of this video, no one dominated this game .
Lol. They clearly didn't dominate them. You either see trolling, didn't watch the game, or don't know what the word dominate means. Which is it?
@@matthewhunter6421 look at the title of this video, and your response applies to it. My response is mocking them and their opinions on that game. I’m being “Sarcastic” to their crap. Like I said “anyone can play your game”, and that’s what I’m doing . Try reading it again. In reality that was one of the greatest football games ever, and no one Dominated the game. If nothing else the score indicates that! How can anyone say one dominated with a score of 39 to 31?? Kinda stupid don’t you think,
My statement is mocking the title of this video and all who thinks for one second that Az. St. Dominated that game. Your response to me and my “sarcastic” statement is actually correct but not in the way you intended it. It applies to the title of this video and to Drakes one sided panel of “generation cry babies” This was a great game, most likely of all play off games for the last 2 years. Two Great Teams! Just consider this one example, “Domination” . How can that define one team over the other with a score of 39 to 31. How can you get to that score and think someone Dominated that game, you would have to be kinda stupid and not know the game. 🤘
Take the L drake
Ludicrous. You're ignoring Scats non-called OPI on his long catch. You're ignoring the illegal hit on Bond. And you're ignoring the fact that they took a good long look at your play and decided it was not targetting.
The key to this is "it helps UT greatly" which was the point of the no call. Had the situation been reversed, it would have been called and we all know it.
They had a chance in OT and they blew it. Very bad and a well deserved loss
