    I loved the very first pattern generated, I would go into the midi events and subtract from there to get a pattern development; but to me the climax of the piece is the ethereal quirky texture that the AI first created, and then from there
    You keep on starting over whereas I would remain with the Idea Fix of the first pattern.
    But I guess Orb can be used in any way the user feels comfortable with.

    Love all your videos, you should post more of them more often. I purchase Orb composer Artist not long ago and I'm liking it a lot. I have a feature request: It would be great if we could save our own vst instrument templates, so we don't have to load them each time we want to work on a new project. Similar to how FlStudio does it. Also it would be great help if you designated different colors to the instrument notes in the pianoroll. makes it easy to arrange that way.

    Love this Masterclass, can't wait for Part 2. On the chord document that you provided, any chance you could include screenshots on how to import that into Orb Composer. When I tried to put in your chords, OC was only showing me chords with a C preceding them. (Also possible I'm doing something stupid in the application, would appreciate any insight into that). Thanks!

    Is there a video up yet that explains what 'deformation' actually does?

    Thanks for sharing this video. I want to know if Orb Composer can create rhythmic variations without changing the melody notes. e.g. " Twinkle Twinkle little star"- I want to keep the melody, but change its rhythm. Is it possible to do this in Orb Composer? Is it possible to input our own melody notes and let Orb Composer change the rhythmic structure- to see all the possible rhythmic variations.

    Out of interest, what programming language do you guys use to make Orb Composer? I've heard Python being used for machine learning, but you can't use that with this kind of slick interface!

    Beware of this company. In less than 1 year you will be required to pay a lot more just to keep it up to date.

      I prefer this model to a subscription. They have obviously put a lot of time and effort into this release, so I don't mind paying a small upgrade fee for it.

    • @goldcoastj
      @goldcoastj 4 года назад

      At least with a subscription you know what you're up for.
      I've had Rapid Composer since 2015 and they have never charged for updates which have many new innovations.
      80 Euro is NOT a small upgrade fee. 20 euro would be reasonable.
      I'm just saying that they should support those who purchased Orb when it was being developed.

      This software allow to avoid long year of harmonization class. Do you think 100 euros is a trouble. ?

    • @romaric9874
      @romaric9874 4 года назад

      @@richcooke4086 it’s depend of the update. If they are lot of new feature 100 euros is nothing. It’s depend on your use too. It’s a professional software. If it’s a recreative use 100 euros could be invest in other things.
      I had used orb to arrange for exotic orchestra ( not a classical symphonic ) some pieces of music in different genre. . The job was done in « one click ». If i had to worked on it i had spend more time. I was paid for that larger than the price of some update.
      I have paid the price to be more with my child than with my pen and my papers. 100 euros is nothing for me. But i can understand that for other it’s too expensive.

      They have a really stupid business model. To be honest a subscription model like eastwest hollywood or AIVA would have been far wiser for this software since it's currently in BETA. As far as I'm concerned 1.4.5 was Alpha this is BETA as it's still got a ridiculous amount of bugs and broken features. It's now got a decent enough system in place going forward to help composers. Ro this software isn't close to a one click solution for harmonization. Look how many times he regenerates ideas. The benefit of music theory knowledge on top of this software definitely improves it's use. Somebody who has basic knowledge isn't going to jump in and write anything decent yet. Rapid Composer is way more impressive than Orb Composer but it's got a really steep learning curve. To be honest I haven't seen many people use rapid composer effectively to make music yet. Captain Plugins on the other hand with 3.0 free update is fantastic although not that useful for orchestral composers. I won't purchase 1.5 unless it's on a decent sale or they get their act together and fix most of the promised features that are broken like the drums or midi editor. Nothing more annoying when you have a melody/motif rhythm you really like and lock it only for it to get lost forever because the undo button doesn't work properly or you want to change the chords.
