    I like the in-car vlogging, everyone else who I watch who vlogs most of the time are in the car. Also learning about working In the UAE was really interesting.

    I came, I saw, and as practically everybody eventually does, I left. But managed to saved a boat load of cash. Worth it if you're willing to adapt, not easy though. Brave souls should give it a go.

    Well in terms of salary going down you have to consider that the burj khalifah costed over 1 billion dollars to build and all the water running through the buildings to keep people from burning to death costs a lot of money not only to clean and cool it but to transport it too.

    Working In UAE would not be bad. The unfortunate part is that country does not have anti discrimination laws like US or UK. I think UAE should establish Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Even UAE citizens are discriminated against to certain extent. When I visited there I saw the ads stating Filipinos only, Pakistanis only, and so forth. What they are doing is against their own religion Islam. The world should have same standards as western countries.

    Thanks for the video! I agree with what you have to say about the input of income minus the surprising expenses. Most people tend to forget to look into the cost of expenses. I've been there myself. After all the jumping in excitement over a sum of salary promised to me, then came the bills. My friends in UAE also warned me that landlords don't collect monthly rent payments. They collect one large cheque for the entire year's worth of rent. A bit scary compared to Canadian (North American) accommodations.

      Thank you Mr Gerard Melvin. Would you say life was better because you had less responsibilities and possibly more freedom? Thank you clearing that up as I'm from the UK also and am curious about working away from the UK. I agree,Money isn't everything; But is the salary a lot greater than what the average salary is at home? if it isn't i wouldn't see the need to make such a drastic change. Thank you for taking your time to contact me. Really appreciate it.
      Best wishes

    • @Germelvin
      @Germelvin 9 лет назад

      +jack dudgeon yes the salary was better at the time mainly because of the tax breaks there. It was a responsible job though, quite stressful at times, especially the weather in UAE can be very hot and humid

    I've always thought about visiting there just as a vaca so I was reading about it there and people were saying that for women even if you are an outsider from the usa you have to do as the women there do which made me not want to go any more is that really how it is? In the usa we can wear tshirts and jeans and shorts, is it the same way there or do you have to dress like the women there do

    • @cenkz
      @cenkz 9 лет назад

      +Jackie McCartney No, you can wear shorts or jeans an tshirts. Just don't drink/be drunk in public or commit sex acts outside of marriage, then you will be fine! If not, say good bye to UAE forever.

    • @drunken_masasura13
      @drunken_masasura13 9 лет назад

      Ok cause I was on here and it said that if your an outsider that there's alot of things you can't do and if you wanna get technical women wearing jeans and tshirt isn't actually modest to them is why I'm asking. What a out going to restaurants cause the person said you can be jailed for it

    I've enjoyed your vlog but would appreciate more detail...for instance, mentioning the need to respect the culture. That's a basic principle anywhere...but what exactly do you mean? Do you take off your shoes, do you have to wear a beard, does your wife have to have her head covered, do you stop and pray many times in the day...that is the granular level needed to make this kind of post richer and more interesting.

    • @hananrose2254
      @hananrose2254 9 лет назад

      The United Arab Emirates it's very cultural and extremely understanding and respectful for other religions and other cultures rights so don't worry if it's Saudi Arabia it's a bit more religious so yeah let's keep in mind that the country's population is 7 million and only 2million are local the rest are from other nationalities 😊

    Good advice for those who are planning to live and work in the UAE. You should also stress what is and isn't allowed in the UAE for example in the U.K. it's normal for couples to hold hands in public or kiss each other and have a little cuddle on the street, I believe such acts in public would not be allowed in the UAE/Dubai and for those expats who do not know could end up in serious trouble.

I would like to ask, what agencies would you recommend to land job in the UAE?........We have seen a lot and lot of agencies demanding money to be paid upfront and promise to get job for you. What is the current policy law for recruitment in UAE?....Please just name few would you recommend

    • @GhassanYounis
      @GhassanYounis 9 лет назад

      +sbuh ntshali Pretty sure that's not legal in the UAE. Agencies should get paid by their client (the employer), not the candidate (job seeker). Just google 'recruitment agencies' in Dubai and check the jobs section on LinkedIn and other job boards.

    I am interested in this emphasis on hierarchy and lack of creativity and opportunity to be innovative in the UAE. More auto videos on this subject please...Cheers

      Didn't say UAE was not innovative per say. Just hierarchy in government organisations can make innovation slower to uptake. True across the world really.
