I like the in-car vlogging, everyone else who I watch who vlogs most of the time are in the car. Also learning about working In the UAE was really interesting.
Hello from the US - just saw your vlog for the first time. While I'm just getting into watching it ... by now, you're probably a father. So congratulations to you and your wife; I hope that everyone is happy and healthy. Cheers :-)
I came, I saw, and as practically everybody eventually does, I left. But managed to saved a boat load of cash. Worth it if you're willing to adapt, not easy though. Brave souls should give it a go.
i ve watched 4 of your videos and i must admit that you're a really nice guy, very humble and down to heart! i like the way you express your ideas and you make it easy for the viewer to follow. wish you good look and lot of success!
Thank you for the kind comments. Look forward to seeing you on more of the videos. Do join us if you haven't already by subscribing and let your friends know on social media.
wow. I remember watching this video in 2015 when I was trying to come to UAE. I liked the video. and today I'm in UAE working. this video must have helped me somewhere and you are correct about a lot of things. thanks man. wish you luck.
I lived in Abu Dhabi for around 4 months. Though place is good but you are right accomodation is costly. And man look at you man, you are driving a Nissan GT.Appreciate your work.
Well in terms of salary going down you have to consider that the burj khalifah costed over 1 billion dollars to build and all the water running through the buildings to keep people from burning to death costs a lot of money not only to clean and cool it but to transport it too.
I'm new to your Chanel and I'm really liking it so far. It's my second video I'm watching of you. I hope to work in Dubai or Abu Dubai inshallah when I grow up.
Thanks for sharing the info, just graduated from my master study and been applying for work in the UAE, hope I can land on a job sooner or later, best wish for all of us!
Working In UAE would not be bad. The unfortunate part is that country does not have anti discrimination laws like US or UK. I think UAE should establish Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Even UAE citizens are discriminated against to certain extent. When I visited there I saw the ads stating Filipinos only, Pakistanis only, and so forth. What they are doing is against their own religion Islam. The world should have same standards as western countries.
Thanx a much Emkwan.. Very informative for First timers in U.A.E.. u almost covered all grounds and aspect of it.. except for the Entertainment part.. Look out if u can ellaborate a bit on it.. that how should the Weekends be spent... liked it thought.. Cheers...!!!
السلام عليكم Hope you and ms_beelah are well. Thanks for doing this vlog it helped to realise the reality of working in the UAE and my husband and I both enjoyed it. We're still on the hunt for a teaching post out there so إنشاءالله something suitable comes up soon.
I just love how u go about "YouTubing" if that makes sense. U just seem to be an all round nice calm approachable person; and as a new subscriber of your I just really can't wait to see more of u.
Thanks for the video! I agree with what you have to say about the input of income minus the surprising expenses. Most people tend to forget to look into the cost of expenses. I've been there myself. After all the jumping in excitement over a sum of salary promised to me, then came the bills. My friends in UAE also warned me that landlords don't collect monthly rent payments. They collect one large cheque for the entire year's worth of rent. A bit scary compared to Canadian (North American) accommodations.
Hey! What degree did you take and did you take a master or "just" a bachelor? Thanks. I will be starting uni this summer, so I definitely need some motivation.
Wow , 20 years ago exactly, I started my first job in Dubai, in the oilfield. I spent four years out there in the Persian gulf, it was hard work but great memories. The summer heat nearly killed me . :-)
+jack dudgeon quality of life was good but better when you are young, I was working a lot though on the oil rigs, travelled home ( Ireland) every few months
Thank you Mr Gerard Melvin. Would you say life was better because you had less responsibilities and possibly more freedom? Thank you clearing that up as I'm from the UK also and am curious about working away from the UK. I agree,Money isn't everything; But is the salary a lot greater than what the average salary is at home? if it isn't i wouldn't see the need to make such a drastic change. Thank you for taking your time to contact me. Really appreciate it. Best wishes
+jack dudgeon yes the salary was better at the time mainly because of the tax breaks there. It was a responsible job though, quite stressful at times, especially the weather in UAE can be very hot and humid
Thank you for this informations. It helps a lot of persons who try to search a job and to move to the UAE and from my personal experience i can only agree every word you said. Keep it up Bro.
Whenever I've been to Dubai I know it's where I want to settle or frequently visit in terms of work iA and hopefully I'll be heading to uni in the next few months. What field of work are you in? Thank you for this video may Allah bless you and your family!
hi and thank you so much for this video, i'm moroccan from canada and actually i want to come and work in abu dhabi, can you tell me please how did you do to find a job in UAE? is it by subscribing to some kind of organism who provide or how exactly, Thak you so much and hard luck !

Good informative vlog. This format is perfect when you're giving detail, so emphasis is on the content, rather than what else you're doing. ps. Also you're using your travel time to squeeze out extra content. :-)

I've always thought about visiting there just as a vaca so I was reading about it there and people were saying that for women even if you are an outsider from the usa you have to do as the women there do which made me not want to go any more is that really how it is? +Jackie McCartney No, you can wear shorts or jeans an tshirts. Just don't drink/be drunk in public or commit sex acts outside of marriage, then you will be fine! If not, say good bye to UAE forever.
Ok cause I was on here and it said that if your an outsider that there's alot of things you can't do and if you wanna get technical women wearing jeans and tshirt isn't actually modest to them is why I'm asking. What a out going to restaurants cause the person said you can be jailed for it
Been thinking of moving from The u.k for while now, Have a couple of mates that have moved to dubai/ Abu dhabi. Im visiting The UAE in may. IF i like it i may well consider moving . WHats the difference between Dubai and ABUdhabi.. as in rents, cost of living jobs. business opportunities. ETC

I know I'm rather late. The video was great but the information around how to find a job or how to get a job as very limited and not much helpful unfortunately. But the efforts you put into this video are visible. Thanks

+ramzi45 lol what?
I've always thought about visiting there just as a vaca so I was reading about it there and people were saying that for women even if you are an outsider from the usa you have to do as the women there do which made me not want to go any more is that really how it is? Ok cause I was on here and it said that if your an outsider that there's alot of things you can't do and if you wanna get technical women wearing jeans and tshirt isn't actually modest to them is why I'm asking. What a out going to restaurants cause the person said you can be jailed for it
+Jackie McCartney No thats just false, a lot of ppl are saying stuff about it but it's all bs.
do the majority of the people in the UAE speak English??
Yes they do.
