George Salazar plays Michael (he’s been playing Michael since the very beginning of Be More Chill btw!) and I can’t remember for sure if he’d been on Broadway before or not. His other big musical was The Lightning Thief where he played Grover and Mr. D (before it went to broadway) BMC is set in high school and definitely has a lot of stereotypical high school plots but overall it’s still a sci fi musical.
Behind The Curve yep! It’s definitely not just a regular high school show lol. It has some similarities to TGWDLM tbh. Oh be more chill isn't exactly just a high school comedy drama. It's about as much of a High School Musical as say Heather's. That's the say the characters are in high school and high school adds drama to their lives because that's what high school does but there is also something else that becomes the center of conflict that would not be in a typical high school story. Heather's gets kind of I don't want to say horror but like I guess Thriller vibes because the thing that breaks up the normal high school story and that is murder be more chill I'll just say sci-fi and leave it at that
Will Roland was the original Jared Kleinman in Dear Evan Hansen- he was also Jeremy. Those are his two main roles, but he’s done some smaller productions as well. He’s around 30 years old ish

Most of the cast is the same between the two except the squip has changed Jeremy has changed and Jake has changed and Jenna but the rest of the cast is the same they're all pretty great they all still have really good chemistry for each other the only I think I don't really like on the Broadway cast is the squip if I'm being honest some of the songs have also been changed and there is one or two new ones I'm actually a pretty big fan of some of the new songs especially loser geek whatever.

It was there for a week or so, I think, but never went anywhere. They still made original cast recording of the show however and over the next couple years those songs got streamed a lot and the show got SUPER popular. It got so popular that they were able to make it into a Broadway production and while alot of the original New Jersey cast came back, not all did. The two characters in this song for example: Will Roland took over the part of Jeremy from Will Connolly, but George Salazar [who is amazing by the way, please listen to Michael in the Bathroom 😭] has played Michael from the beginning. So technically they would be the Original Broadway Cast. It doesn't really bother me, but I just thought you might like to know.
I think be more chill and dear Evan Hansen happened at the same time someone can correct me and what I mean by that is the Off-Broadway production happened around the same time that dear Evan Hansen was going on so that's actually the real reason will wasn't Jeremy in the Off-Broadway production they wanted him to be but he was busy with your Evan Hansen when it came to Broadway they got him to play Jeremy so will Roland dear Evan Hansen did happen before he got onto the cast of be more chill Also as a side note I don't think George Salazar has been in any other Broadway production I could be wrong are the only other show I really know him from is the lightning thief and though the Lightning Thief did come to Broadway I believe when it came to Broadway he was doing this so they replaced him.
