Great content, as always!
Right now, after living 2.5 years in Netherlands and speaking Engliosh all the time, I also found myself in a situation where i translate mostly from english to my native language rather than backward :D Really starting to forget my native language.
But i like your way of studies, sensei! I am normally also approaching it the similar way, by first accuaring as much as possible passive skills (via listening podcasts, watching vlogs/anime) and then slowly starting to improve active skills by keeping a diary or something.
