It's a blatant weak comment is all guys...think for yourselves! He is mixing up with lines when the White knight is already on f3 so the queen does not attack g4. Here, as is, it's just a missexpresion by Aga.
#Agadmator:- If someone noticed at #8:36 Nc7 seemed ding could up the exchange as it attacks both Q and R , but Nd4 would equalise or Nb4 gives black a wonderful position. ( for those of u who want to know more)
Ng4 is blunder actually. According to engines, Ng8 is best move giving evaluation of 0.5. The next best move is Be7 already evaluation +2.76. So Ng4 would get an even worse evaluation for black.
White recaptures the knight with cxd5, your rook is not hanging because Qxe1 is met with Qxf6+ which is mate in 2. You can't prevent white from grabbing the f pawn while also not leaving your rook hanging unless you give up your queen for the rook.
Ding is in beast mode, he's finding ALL the best moves basically. And when he doesn't, it's because he plays the best HUMAN move, like the h5/h6 idea in this game which is not forcing but makes radjabov spend time that he doesn't have and then he blunders the next move. Also dings move Ka2, while it's not the best move, it's the best human move since it gets rid of all counter play and also forces radjabov to spend time that he doesn't have, while allowing ding to find "easy" tactics to finish black like what happened in the game. I wish we didn't even need candidates and ding could play right now since he's in beast form.. And because if ding doesn't get to play Carlsen then it would be a travesty because he's clearly the best challenger right now. IMO Caruana is clearly weaker at faster time controls than both Carlsen and Ding, I don't see Caruana ever having a chance to beat Carlsen at a faster time control tie break/match.. I also feel like Ding would have the psychological edge against Carlsen in both classical and faster time controls since he won Sinquefield ahead of Carlsen, and because of Dings current beast mode form which Carlsen would 100% be following and seeing his games.

8:12 why is Ding not playing knight to C7? I mean he forks the Queen and Rook, so black has to take with his other rook (on C8) or move his Queen, or am I missing sth?
So why not Nxd5 wont work ? From there night can defend pawn on f6 attack queen with check while offering queen. If RxE7, then NxD3 with check and once night is captured or kong moves Rxe7. What am I missing ?
After capturing bishop, you can recapture with pawn, then black queen is under attack, you cant move it, becuse queen has to protect f6 pawn, if queen moves away form this pawn, then it is mate in 3 for white. it is actually mate in 12 after capturing bishop.
You didn't mention the most beautiful idea. The one why Ding moved the pawn to h5-h6. In the final position, when the knight eats the bishop, Ding doesn't eat the queen for there will be a check and Radja wins. Instead, he eats the knight. Then all is working because of the pawn h6.
White can just recapture the Knight. The black queen is still attacked and if she moves away from the f6 pawn then Qxf6 will lead to mate (otherwise Rxe7 will also win)
16:21 Why can't the knight simply capture the white bishop? NxD5, RxE7, NxC3 (with check), and after the king moves, black will capture the rook on E7 and be left with a rook? Even if, after the knight takes the bishop, white doesn't go for the queen but captures the knight with the pawn there will be no mo threat of mate? (Please excuse my inability to write chess moves...I just play for fun when I have the chance)
Just simply recapture knight with pawn. Now again black can't capture took as Qxf6+ and mate in Qg7. After cxNd5 whatever black plays Rxe8 Qxe8. Now again white just win with Qxf6+ Kg8 Qg7#
Awesome game. I’ve actually been playing the English a lot lately, mostly the reversed Sicilian variation but after seeing this game I have a bunch of new ideas, very instructional. Thank you for covering it!
Because after RxN BxR black has Nd4 attacking the queen. Once White's queen moves black will have Nc2+ forcing Kb1 and then Black can win the exchange back with Ne3

You simply take the bishop with your c pawn and the double threat on f6 and the queen/rook skewer on the e-file. Of importance to note is both Qxe1 does not come with check ( because of the prophylactic Ka2!) and the h6 pawn keeps a mating net after Qxf6+ and mate on g7. 1[...] Nxd5 2. cxd5. If black plays Qxe1 then 3. Qxf6+ Kg8 (as now the bishop is not eyeing g8) 4. Qg7#. Basically white won't play Rxe7 right away as the threats of Qxf6+ and Rxd7 still remains after cxd5
Also if 1 [...] Nxd5 2. cxd5 Qf8 it seens like everything is defended, but the black queen is overload guarding the rook on e8 and the pawn on f6. If white plays 3. Rxe8 and black replies with Qxe8 then the same idea applies. 4. Qxf6 Kg8 and Qg7#. Guess that's it.
How about knight capture on d5 it come with eliminating one of the attackers and with attack on the white queen and defending the f6 pawn and black queen , and if white capture the queen, black capture white queen with check!! What I am missing??
What about Nxd5 in the final position, I can't see why it doesn't work... It attacks white queen (which will be check if captured), and already eliminates white's light square bishop which was a big nuisance
Why wouldn't Knight captures on d5 work at the end? Wouldn't you end up with a knight and rook vs queen endgame? Still probably not winning, but it would prevent the checkmate from queen captures on f6

Look at the pawn on c4 it can capture the black knight opening up the attack on the black queen from rook e1. The queen will capture it. And the white queen will go to f6 check and then g7 mate once king moves g8. Different mating sequence only GM can see I guess

16:04 I am new to chess but what if knight capture on d5?
Just capture by the pawn
And than if he moves the queen just capture by the rook and e8 and the queen is forced to capture the rook and queen capture pawn f6
And if he capture the rook the queen just capture the pawn and win
And if he not move his queen the queen will be lost and ding liren is win easily
Tips for Radja to just DRAW with Ding.
1. Exchange Queens early
2. Remove one bishop
3. Have eye contact during the handshake.
After Kb3 what stops Ra3 with the skewer of the Queen at 9:23?
At 8:16 why not move the knight to c7 forking the rook and queen and thereby winning the exchange?
I'm fairly new so I'm a bit confused.
He can play and win the rook but Black has counterplay against this.
