Hello again from Ireland. I saw this rose three years ago on a RUclips video and bought 6 . By far the best performers, most healthy and vigorous roses in my garden. It is in shade fir most of the day and the blooms are luxurious shades of coral and apricot. 2022 we had more sun and the blooms started apricot then quickly turned to pink with washed out edges. I still have had no fragrance from them but they are indifferent to wind and rain and shade.

Hello! From my experience, the weather has a big effect on the colour & scent of a rose. I‘ll be a keen observant on my Chippendale this year and try to find out when I can sense the scent. Have a lovely day!🌹

What a beautiful rose! Love it. Thanks for sharing. Does the flower repeat well? How many flushes of blooms it has in one season? Thanks.

Hello! Sorry for this delayed response, I was travelling the last months. Yes! Chippendale is one of my best performer in the garden. It had 2 to 3 flushes in a year and a lovely huge bloom. A lovely day to you!🌹🌹🌹🌹

Thanks Sis! It’s from a German rose grower named Rosen Tantau. They normally have distributors world wide but the rose has a different name in Canada. For sure there are Canadian rose growers which have beautiful roses there. 🌹🌹🌹

Your chippendale rose is so lovely. Is yours grafted or own root?

Hello! Thanks! My Chippendale rose was bought grafted at Rosen Tantau, a German rose grower. This rose had been a delight in my garden for 9 years now. Have a lovely day!🌹

Hi Gemma, lovely rose. This is the rose that convinced me to buy also😊. But this has caused me a little dilemma! Only this past week when I’ve been considering locations of where to plant which roses in the ground I had decided to plant the less fragrant roses in my front flower bed over towards the back. And the more fragrant roses towards the front of that corner bed. Now I’m scratching my head again. 😊😊😊. I think the shop stated it was light fragrance.

Good morning JayJay! I planted Chippendale near the terrace because of the scent. Some days in Spring, it has a nice strong scent but during summer with the blazing ☀️, I can’t smell any scent at all. It is sometimes not easy to describe the appearance and scent because from my experience ,the weather plays a major role that affects the roses. I have roses like Elbflorenz(from Meilland), Gebrüder Grimm (Kordes), Ingrid Bergmann( Dänemark rose), Madame Anissette(Kordes), Rose de Resht , Acapella (Rosen Tantau) and Jude the Obscure (David Austin) which are not affected by the weather and maintained its’ strong scent. I think you have so many good collections of roses Jay, just observe them as they grow. Have a wonderful day!😃🐝🌹

Hi Gemma, lovely garden of yours. Thank you for sharing it! One question about Chippendale, how many days can one bloom last in your climate in summer? I'm in the Netherlands, so the performance should be very similar. I'm trying to avoid varieties that can only last 2 or 3 days before the petals fall, like most of the David Austin ones😂

Hallo! Chippendale will last at least 2 weeks or more if you don't cut the roses from the plant. Our summer the last 4 years were scorching hot so I water and provide organic matter to cover the ground. The high temperature affects the size of the blooms too based on my expirement. Chippendale is incredible. Thanks for your question!🌹

@@rosegardengems Wow, it can last for 2 weeks in summer, that's really incredible for a garden rose. I'll definitely get it for my garden. Yes, the past two summers were really hot, I also had to water more and use mulch on the ground/pot. Thank you so much for the reply and tips, Gemma. I'm looking forward to watching new videos from you😊😊😊
