  • Cybex have used Impact Shields on previous car seats in the Pallas and Sirona ranges, but this is the world's first and their first i-Size group 1/2/3 shield seat! Moving their technology to pass the higher testing, we're taking a good look at their brand new Cybex Pallas G i-Size.
As with all of Cybex products - pushchairs, strollers and car seats, the Pallas G i-Size offers functionality, safety and design all rolled into one package.
Full of features that you might not see on other car seats, we have loved testing the Impact Shield as an alternative way to secure the child. This has been a hit with our 3 year old tester too. Some parents may be unsure about their use, but the test results speak for themselves and show them to be very safe seats.
Because of this, we would encourage the use of an impact shield if a parent chooses to forward face their child sooner over keeping them rear-facing, which would be the ideal. It's also a good option to keep an escapee child securely in their car seat as it is very difficult for them to lean over and reach the buckle of the shield.
The only reason that we've marked the seat down is because we would always advise that rear-facing is the safest option for as long as possible. Ideally up to 4 years old.

It is not clear to be if the angle of the seat can be change to provide a bit more comfort on long rides?

Why is the backrest so loose on these? Makes me feel quite insecure about the efficiency

Just bought it, but the big question is whether my 18 month daughter will like that shield. I think she'll hate it, and what do I then do? Can't use a normal seat bet right? So she'll just have to accept it

Very helpful video, thank you.Have you any opinion on Britax ADVANSAFIX i-SIZE which is similar with Pallas G i-Size? I am concerned a little bit about the difference of the cost between the two child car seats which puts me in a dilemma about the purchase that I should make between the two of them. Since it is not mentioned in Britax official site, is there available the test rating from ADAC for Britax ADVANSAFIX i-SIZE ?

Where's the child? Now try it with a child for a long journey - the child will HATE the front cushion.

We review the car seat and then do our video review. Our testers loved it!

My daughter screamed every time she had to travel facing backwards. She was fully content with the shield.

Reduces the risk by 40%.. A backward facing seat will reduce the same injures by 500%.. So yeah..
