May I suggest a tip. Get a soda bottle, drill a hole in the lid to fit a rubber gas hose into the bottle. Put about 1.5” of brake fluid in the bottle so that the end of the hose is in the fluid. Put the other end of the hose on the brake bleeder valve. Pump away. Because the the hose is in the fluid it won’t suck back air. Very quick and efficient.
I had to giggle a bit when you talked about your cabin build taking so much time as you use power tools to make your cuts and detail work. I can only imagine how long it took our pioneer ancestors to build a cabin with a draw knife and an axe. I love watching your process. Thanks for sharing your dreams and visions. Merry Christmas!!
I look forward to seeing how you are going to get into the log cabin. At this point I see no door. Lots to look forward to in the new year. Have a happy Christmas with your family.
Hi Paul, It's been a lonnng time since I've seen you at momma v's or the framily. Hoping your back is feeling better. GOD BLESS YOU SIR PAUL❤🙏🙏🙏🏡BLESSED CHRISTMAS ADVENT. GREAT TO SEE YOUR NAME.❤
Congratulations Callie and your team too!! Tomorrow is Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas to all of you at RPR, and to your extended families too. Thank you for an enjoyable 2024. I enjoyed all your videos, and benefited from a few of the products you introduced us to on your channel. Happy New Year as well! 🎄🎅❄
Watching the work going into the log cabin build left wondering in awe how the earlier settlers did this all by hand. It’s amazing how they did this, much respect to them. Merry Christmas 🎄 Red Poppy Ranch and congratulations to daughter on their win.
Awesome video , thanks so much , love and enjoy every project you get into ! Been following the ford build , great job , you cut no corners ! Very nice , appreciate your workmanship , attention to detail ! Not everyone does that anymore ! Happy Holidays to you and yours ! Thanks for sharing !!!!!! 🙏👍😊❤️
Merry Christmas Cedar, Heath, the kids and their husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends, wives, so many of you there now. Wishing You All An Incredible Christmas and Happy New Year!!!! See you next week? Keep Safe, Warm, and Happy, Matt - Toronto, Canada
You are an inspiration to all DIY'ers, great work on the cabin! And that's a way to find ways to save money on the truck (I probably would have just bought the battery tray) but I cant weld!
love the bump side. I am a ford fan as you can see with my profile picture. The fire looks inviting. A movable heat reflector, half barrel, would direct heat to work area. Excited to see cabin progress. Merry Christmas and happy new year from another Idaho spud.
Thank You for sharing your adventures with us! Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year to you and your lovely family. Watching from sunny Naples, Florida...
Hi Heath, where will the door to the log cabin be? Which direction? I’m really looking forward to see how you insert windows and doors and how high before you get to a roof and what shape that will be.
I've used whatever I could to weld things for decades. I finally bought myself a nice proper welding table with a machined surface, and 5/8" holes for clamping. The days of me kneeling on a concrete floor to weld are well behind me, and having two knee replacements over the last two years was my excuse. Having the right tools for the job really makes the difference. Also when using your small grinder (5") especially in a tight space, make sure you use the handle that screws in the side. That grinder can easily catch on something and spin around and pass through your arm before you know it. Trust me on that, if not I'll show you the scar on my arm that took 150 stitches to close up. Battery cables are fine but make sure the insulation isn't cracked.
I can’t wait each Sunday to get the video. They just aren’t long enough. God Bless you and your family this Christmas week. I wish I could come and meet your family and ring the bell. It’s just to far and I have to many miles on myself. From Mississippi to Utah is quite a ways. It’s so pretty there. It’s 30 degrees here and we are freezing. Charlotte M.
There is a bark stripper for chainsaw that would speed up your work on the eight sided cabin. There anywhere from $65-$100, and would cut your work in 1/2.
Hello from Jakob over in se London in the UK. Dear Heath do you think you will keep the bumpside or at some point do you think you may sell it? It's been a great year and I hope the next one will be even better. Seasons greets Jakob....
That truck is beautiful Heath. Why not talk to a fella that lives in Tennessee that go's by the name of Derek Bieri. Maybe he'll kick back some cold snacks with you while working on that beauty. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
For my parents 40th wedding anniversary, I got them t-shirts that said, "40 years of bleeding brakes together."........ And that's not an exaggeration.
My buddy down here in Tucson owns a shop called BumpSideAddicts and he build these all the time. His daughter has a 800hp 12v Cummins with an NV4600, if you have any questions or are looking for one, I’m sure he’s a guy who knows where you can find a rust free chassis. I’d be happy to bring it up to you as well.
Heath Skinner...PLEASE invest in some safety glasses! WEAR THEM! I cringed seeing those wood shards flying near your face/head, and possible metal chips/shavings while you drilled on the Bumpside. Mods on the Bumpside look great, enjoyed watching the Deer! Merry Christmas to you all!
There’s a YT channel called “the hoof gp”- he’s a cattle hoof trimmer in Scotland. I think the grinding wheels he uses would be perfect for the 8-sided cabin.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. I have seen farmers put like bristle brushes on poles for their animals to scratch on. Maybe the deer would like something like that.?! 🙂
Awesome work Heath,! 😃👍🏼👊🏼...Merry Christmas to you and your family 🎄 .... Check out Arbortech and their wood carving attachments for the angle grinder, such as the Turboplane, Turbo Shaft, and Ball Gauge.
most log cabins i have seen have some kind of sealer, caulk, or something between the logs. What is your reason not to or plan in the future of this build?

I figured you liked a nice warm fire. Let's you get your work done.
Where is the door of the cabin going to be?

You need an angle grinder and Milwaukee leaf blower holster. 😂
Time to think about window placement, All those long screws could come back to haunt you.
Happy holidays! Merry Christmas & a Prosperous new Year!
One question. Have you hit any screws from the lower logs as of yet? Just curious? Thanks
i would level the cabin and build on that level service with something else so it goes quicker and looks good.just a thought.
I had a 71 like that same color can't remember thinking it had a 390 in it,
We need a Timelapse from beginning to where you are now!
Merry Christmas to all at Red Poppy Ranch
