They should really make a kit with replacement back plates so that you can avoid warranty issues and physical mods to the ally that hinder its quality design.
Works great. But I have added a selfmade copper heat spreader with ptfe shield for the ram. To dissipate heat. It feels safer that way, at least for me.
I like this guy, he gave all the warnings! But this isn't worth it, these batteries do not have warranty or any proper quality checks done, if it catches on fire at night your whole family and the house will be burnt into crisp! Just get the Ally X, the price difference between your house and X is huge!
Turned it into a white version of Ally X! Nice!! my concern is Ali Express, I would be worried if anything goes wrong. battery stopped working, catches on fire, explodes etc..
I know you said that it affects the weight, do you know specifically how much heavier the new battery is? like maybe give a weight comparison compared to the steam deck. I'm thinking about upgrading too but I just wanted to be sure that it's still reasonably light.
Hi i have a Problem the battery is at any time at 100% and doesnt get lower. I dont See the Watt Performance anymore and on Turbo Mode the Fans doesnt spin higher but the Temperature is is ok. I think all the Problems come from the battery Do you have this Problem too?
Nice footage, my dear friend. In the end, you fail to explain if the temps get worsw or better on the cpu. Could you tell me if it feels hotter in your hands? I think you should also run hwmonitor while running some taxing apps in the background to understand how the cpu temp is acting. And I would appreciate that feedback. Cheers from Portugal!
Thanks, im waiting for a thermal probe for internal testing near the RAM. CPU temps while playing Fortnite is exactly the same. I tried HW monitor. But there are no other themp sensors in the ROG Ally. That why i wait for the thermal probe! So according to HWmonitor the temperature is exactly the same.
I got to know, do you think would this fit if you had an m.2 ssd adapter and ssd connected to it as well? Edit-> nevermind lol i asked before finishing watching the video 👍.
It's doesn't get cooked, haha. It is a common concern but I never exceeded 55 degrees Celsius in crystal diskmark during gaming. And the working temp is up to 70°c by the manufacturer.
@NouraWhyNot yea , right look for controller temp not the normal one , at least get that plastic foil out , i don't know why asus put it in ally but on x don't, it's just keeps heat there
How many hour did you charge the battery from 0 to 100 percent? And can you check the wattage it can charge when it close? The stock battery can have a 65w which support fast charging, I think this battery can only charge 35w when it is off. It will also give you high temp when you do a benchmark with turbo. Does the back cover fit? will it damage the metal ring for back cover screw?
I have the same battery mod, and I believe there was an earlier model that didn't have fast charging but the new versions do. I charge mine with a 120w charger probably 8-10 cycles now and it hasn't had an issue. The charge time is definately longer than when stock but not like if it was charging at 35w. I never leave this thing on charge and walk away. Honestly not having the battery anxiety alone is worth doing this mod. But he does make a good point about the weight but again no battery anxiety lol.
@@YelNatSttocS if you read the reply properly, you will see that I said NOT like it's charging at 35w. I also did say I was charging with a 120w power brick.
@@chiiiiiihhh i see. so how many wattage it can charge? I'm using a 140w charger and only getting 35w when charging power off. how does it fit? Maybe the new version also have thinner battery? Mine is very hard to close.

The Jsaux backplate should work without modifications!
witch warranty? asus one ? u can forget about that
Just by opening the interior you lose warranty, this mod is for people who don't care or it's been 1 year and the warranty has expired
@@jesusangelpadrongonzalez7393in the USA there's a law that protects you from them voiding your warranty
Wish there was a ready to go battery mod for the legion go

Oehh, sounds cool! Is there somewhere I can find it?
Link to what you used?
Would you mind showing a video on what you did?

It's a risk with every device you own that has a li-ion battery. But I definitely understand it.
Sorry but i want to know the link to buy it, i am interested on it. Thank You so much for the Video

That's a good idea, I will compare it in my next video or the video after. Waiting for the last tools should arrive this week
@ thank you!👍

I'm sorry I did not have this problem. I guess a faulty battery. I would contact the seller.
Thanks for sharing
very nice !! link for battery ?
I searched for ROG Ally battery on AliExpress and it returned as the first result.

@NouraWhyNot ok. Gotcha! I will wait for the probe video 😊
why don't you just buy a handheldiy backplate? it's just 25e inkl Shopping and u have the oem if u care about warranty
Don't really care about warranty. The warranty here in the Netherlands is pretty bad In my opinion anyways. I prefer to fix it myself.
Does the fps goes up
Its exactly the same but you can game longer in 25 watt mode and that does give more FPS.

Haha no worries hope you enjoyed!
We need benchmark
Soon! Just waiting for a watt meter!
Amazing
how come u cook that poor ssd, at least remove that plastic foil , it will help by couple of degrees
