This sounds like a scam. Someone in the public works department is probably being intentionally incompetent in order to have an excuse to privatize the service. The person that undermines the service will get a kickback from whoever gets the contract. I think that's happening a lot around the country. Public schools are an example.
I worked in trash collection in a much smaller city and we had around thirty trucks and they require a lot of maintenance and therefore maintenance people to keep them running. I actually thought the number was low. Also it’s difficult to hire and retain people as it’s a dirty ass job that’s very physical. Most of the people I worked with were ex convicts and immigrants off the boat. To be fair though it paid well and was fun. Kept me busy during the pandemic and is good exercise.
Well they need to go after the gas for the pickup trucks raise the insurance up high because they cost and tax money and today's black guys throwing trash in the alley they not going to the dump and they don't have proof where they dump the trash all over the city study going to the dumpster you need to raise the insurance up on a truck that will stop all this mess out here
