kevin willems Well, popularity is a criteria, not the end all be all. That said, in one of the earlier versions of the list War Pigs was indeed #1, then Iron Man, but in the end, this order just made more sense. Paranoid was on our Top 10 Heavy Metal Guitar Riffs and stay tuned for our upcoming Top 10 Metal Anthems to see which - if any ;) - Sabbath track makes the cut.
They mentioned his whole name once. He's mentioned by last name when they're talking about Paranoid. So twice throughout. I agree, not much love for him
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is the most underrated album ever created. I think a few of the songs from it should have been on this, like A National Acrobat, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, and Who Are You. Planet Caravan would have been good too. Watchmojo, stop basing your lists off of commercial success.
Lord of this World is hugely underrated. One of Ozzy's best deliveries and melodies. Two of Tony's best riffs and some of his best licks. Some of Geezer's best & scariest bass and lyrics too. And Bill's studio drumming at it's finest...with COWBELL...and then MORE COWBELL! The way the first verse slams it's way into the second verse is Black Sabbath at their very best. It has one of my favorite intros to a song ever as well. One of their most influential songs on me.
And it does something that modern bands are unlikely to pull off in this day and age: slow music that still has the drive and signature sound the band is known for.
Agreed. It has such a dark, chilling vibe to it. I've never heard any other song that comes even close to matching it. My dad used to play it when I was a kid, and it always freaked me out.

EAZYED420 Sabbra Cadabra is my personal favorite Sabbath song. It seems to be consistently overlooked on top 10 Sabbath song lists. Also Snowblind should be much higher than 10. +mohamed ramadan This is how you make real Sabbath fans laugh at you.
What about The Writ and Symptom of the Universe? Sabotage is such an overlooked album unfortunately.
I know Symptom of the Universe was in the honourable mentions, but it should have been in the top ten at least.
+TheJoebus666 #1 in my book. Could have invented a couple of Metal genres.
also Megalomania, Hole in the Sky and Thrill of it all.
For me, there's no top ten. I love ANY Sabbath track.

I HATE how she mentions Iommi, Ozzy and Ward but RARELY Fucking Geezer Butler! Butler is Black fucking Sabbath's lyrics and groovy addictive soul of bass lines!! Hails to Geezer, underrated bassist.
Amy Little great point!

Electric funeral is so under rated
Depending on the day, my favorite is either 'Snowblind', 'Sabbra Cadabra', or 'Children of the Grave'.
But why is Into The Void so overlooked
the riff on into the void is amazing brother
Black Sabbath at #8 is a sin. The ending solo is one of the best guitar solos of all time, IMO.
EDIT: Wow, Fairies Wear Boots is an honorable mention, and no mention of Tomorrow's Dream..
Ozzy makes geezers and Tony’s lyrics come to life
Sabbath are my favourite band. I like most the songs off the first 5 albums but I would have liked to see 'behind the wall of sleep' on there.

5. Sweet leaf
6. N.I.B
7. Iron Man

H.M. : Black Sabbath, Children of the Grave, Megalomania, Sabbath Bloody S., Hand of doom.
Their sound is very unique
Led Zeppelin ?
If heaven and hell wasnt in there i would have slightly flipped out.
That is one brilliant song.
It is the best known Dio/Sabbath song. It had to make the list.
