This song will always remind me of a girl I met one summer before I had to go home. The morning after saying goodbye to her, I was on the way to the airport and this came on the radio. We wrote back and forth for a year before losing touch. I found her on Facebook 28 years later. She's married with three kids and I'm married with two.

My mom passed away yesterday morning because of Covid-19. She used to hear this song a lot and i cant keep myself from coming to listen to it, to remember about her, just to feel like she's listening it with me. I love you mom ♥️

This song makes me cry because it reminds me of my mom and dad. Neither had great childhoods. Toxic family and really needed the good that each other brought. My dad died young - 29 from injuries as a result of teens drag racing drunk and striking my dad’s taxi. He drove it to help pay off medical bills from one of my siblings. My mom had just found out she was pregnant with me the day of the accident. My mom never got over the loss of her soulmate. But she did the best she could for me and my siblings. She fought breast cancer twice but the second time after a long battle, she was reunited with my dad. This song was pretty popular several months after my mom passed away and it has always struck me as the story of my dad waiting for my mom and how my mom felt about missing him. In the end, my dad came for her and walked with her to heaven. Right before she slipped into the coma before she passed, my mom was talking to him and it was like he was sitting right there with her ~ together again. Forever & Always.

This is my wife's and my song from back when we started dating in 89 when she was 14 and I 16. We had a long distance relationship as teens but now have been married for almost 29 yrs, have two beautiful daughters and a grandson who is a handful. we both still love this song! I saw him open for REO Speedwagon in Anchorage, AK, in the 80’s and listened to Hazard just the other day - it still makes me cry. It’s nice to know that others still appreciate his songs after nearly 40-yrs! Does anybody remember when he helped restrain an unruly passenger on an airline flight? It was 1989. I had just graduated from high school and was preparing for my fall and first semester at UNL known to most of you as the Huskers. My gf dedicated this song to me that summer. The song had just came out and she said excitingly “Tom you have to hear Marx’s new song. It’s us”. All these years later she was so right. Not sure what happened to her, but I hope she thinks of me and that innocent time in our lives. Great song.

This is the song that was playing on the radio the moment our son was born. We took him to see Richard Marx in concert and he was waiting for his birth song all through, but he said goodnight without singing it and left the stage. My son was almost in tears, but I said to wait for the encore and Richard came back out and sang it! It really was a special moment for us all.
