That little cut to cole smashing heads after saying hes a noble dude had my crying of laughter fr🤣🤣🤣
Had me in stitches too. Excellent editing.
Noble people kill. Ned was noble, albeit stupid, but noble, and he killed as much if not more than criston.
@GfahneJskjx Criston didn't cave him in because he didn't like what joffrey said, it's because he felt threatened, and felt like he was being blackmailed. The scene even makes that obvious to us with the use of music, camera work, and tone. Whatever joffrey INTENDED, he did not IMPLY to criston.
I also didn't say people who kill are noble. I said noble people can kill and still be noble.
@@GfahneJskjx Rhaenyra was 17 when criston stabbed her, in America most states have the legal age set to 16, and in Europe where HOTD is based on, most areas have 16 as their legal age. So no, she wasn't a child, and she initiated with criston saying no multiple times whether or not he was forced you can decide.
He beat joffrey up at the wedding because the showrunners are idiots and not criston, if you read the books, you'd know he killed joffrey in a tournament wisely with intelligence and just for spite. Criston is smart. You're not for not knowing why he did what he did. Clown.
@@GfahneJskjx So fckn what? Rhaenyra called herself a child so what? She was 17, of legal age in modern society, don't matter what she thought she was.
I'm talking bout the show too lil guy keep up 😹🙏. There's multiple reasons why criston may have done it in a royal ceremony, one being the
at criston thought the process out and actually wanted to die beforehand because he knew that some, even if a small amount, of ppl knew about his dishonoring of Rhaenyra. There's also the fact that joffrey drew steel in presence of the king, which criston wisely and INTELLIGENTLY did NOT, bcs unsheathing steel near king is a crime taken seriously, f
so from the ppls perspective, criston as a kingsguard was "supposedly" protecting the king from someone who drew his dagger.
This episode highlights how Rhaenyra's first choice will always be Daemon, when Criston asks her to leave with him she declines but with Daemon she is the one who initiates the marriage talk and asks him to take her to Dragonstone and marry her if he dared to.
As a book reader I'm happy the show runner's actually showcase the strength of Sir Harwin Strong aka breakbones 💪💯

Back in the tournament, when Cole attacked Daemon in the back, it was a sign that his honor may not be as steady as he'd like us to believe. Whether his emotions betray him or his honor is a veneer hiding something darker, time will tell, but we now know Cole is capable of a lot more than he lets on.
How's he being dishonorable in the tournament? They're in the middle of a duel and Daemon, for some reason, turns to enjoy the crowd right in the middle of it. Is it some official break where he's supposed to wait until he finishes boasting?
@@UnlistedAgain part of chivalrous etiquette is to fight fair, even when your opponent doesn't. A most honorable gentleman would yell something like "guard" and fight head on. Hitting someone in the back is dishonorable, like when Howland Reed stabbed Arthur Dayne.
@@marleymarsss It was frustrating to watch people comenting about Daemon trippin the horse and totally ignore Crispin attacking him from behind! I mean i also agree it is pretty stupid for Daemon to celebrate before killing him.
ah good call for sure, I had forgotten but it struck me as odd when it happened. lots of layers, I'm going to rewatch it all before the finale i think.

@@HK-gm8pe Because men and women are different this was a fact and proven by the end of the story. Rhaenyra should have known her place and been grateful to even get the throne in the first place since her brother Aegon was the rightful heir and even Daemon. Kingsguards are liked warrior monks. They swore an oath to protect the royals without holding lands, bear titles or sexual intercourses with women. Being a Kingsguard is an honor for a man and that's why Criston felt he broke his oath and tried to commit suicide.
In episodes 3 and 4 Alicent is desperately trying to rekindle her friendship with Rhaenerya, and she finally thinks she made it work but I think this is the episode where she realizes it's beyond saving. They're polar opposites - Alicent is very duty-driven, a believer of faith and someone who felt like she had to suffer under the rules for the good of the realm, whereas Rhaenerya (like Daemon) is a true Targareyan who is very hedonistic, chaotic and pleasure-driven, who breaks and bends the rules as they see fit. I think from Alicent's perspective that's why it feels like such a betrayal for her to find out about the lie, even though Alicent was behind Rhaenerya's back in episode 2 -- it was a betrayal of her beliefs and the principles she believed in, or at least her realizing that she and Rhaenerya's values are too different for there to be reconciliation. So now she dons the green of her house and is focused on doing what she views as her duty.
I think realising Rhaenyra lied also made Otto's point about her children being killed go from a distant possibility to a frightening actuality. if Alicent can't trust her only friend to tell her the truth under four eyes, knowing that Alicent likely has her best interest at heart (or else why would she bother confronting her privately about it to begin with?), how could she ever trust in her future Queen when she one day promises she would never harm Alicent's family in the name of securing the throne?
Alicent also acted in reliance on Rhaenyra's lie to speak to Viserys, which was a part of getting rid of her father as the Hand. If not for her trust, it's possible that Otto would have still been Hand.
I'm glad to see that some viewers grasp Alicent's motivations on a deeper level. I think it's a huge disservice both to the actress and the writer to simply label the character as "a b*tch".
@@hopemikaelson9223 To me Alicent betrayed Rhaenyra by not saying anything about the fact she was wooing Rhaenyra's father to marry him and Alicent knew she was named heir to the throne. To me this is the ultimate betrayal. And lastly in perceptron it isnt any of Alicent's business if Rhaenyra got some

@@bluestbell Alicent is also jealous of Rhaenyra that she has agency over her romantic life . Also Alicent betrayed Rhaenyra first by not telling her about her “talks” with her father . I mean I get why Alicent is pissed but she’s not completely innocent either . If Alicent doesn’t challenge Rhaenyra’s claim to the throne (which I believe she was wrong to do to begin with), Rhaenyra would have no reason to murder her siblings whether the realm wanted them on the throne or not . Alicent is just jaded and jealous of Rhaenyra so she betrays her and moves to put her son on the throne even though it wasn’t Viserys’ wish to begin with, which starts this bloody war, Alicent is pretty damn unlikeable.
The episode is called "We Light the Way", which is the phrase of house Hightower. Queen Alicent wearing the Hightower green for the first time is a signal of her character's inflection point: after learning that Rhaenyra has lied to her face many times, and realizing her dad got banished for telling the truth. This is only the beginning of the real conflict regarding the Targaryen Civil War.
I think Larys (the clubfoot guy from the Strong family talking to Alicent) was just saying Rhaenerya was sick as a way to sort of act innocent and say that he thought the tea was just for her health. Like, he assumed she was sick because she got sent some tea -- pretending he didn't know that it was abortion tea (lol). Like (weird example) if you were trying to subtly accuse someone of having stolen money, and you said 'It's a shame that person must be having trouble with their bank account, because I saw them with bundles of cash'.
Larys was very slick in that moment.....As a book reader i loved that scene.....just like you mentioned he acted very innocent and concerned for Alicent when in truth he wanted to influence Alicents thoughts about Rhaeneyra......
@@lekzintshering7666 you know they’re doing it well when you want to punch the actor in the face
He wasn't pretending he didn't know at all; he's trying to make it as obvious to Alicent as possible that he knows what's going on, and that he's giving her information.
This episode was incredible

The very reason why Alicent has to protect her children from Rhaenyra is because Otto pushed her into Viserys chambers. And he was the one to force Viserys to proclaim Rhaenyra as heir so he could got rid of Daemon.
Is like Otto is inviting everyone into a house on fire that he himself set ablaze.
19:10 "Alicent has stolen the show" - The episode's title "We Light The Way" is the words of house Hightower :)
For this particular show, this channel is really the best reaction channel rn. Because you credit, as well as criticize, all sides. Most channels mostly just support Daemon and Rhaenyra and are hating on the Hightowers, even on Viserys. Which is a shame, because the Hightowers are also very layered and interesting. It's true, or at least Otto really believes it when he said that Rhaenyra would have to put Alicent's children to the sword in order to cement her claim because her claim will be really challenged. Even Princess Rhaenys said the same thing.
yeah its refreshing to see people actually consider all sides of the story instead of just going yass queen whenever rhaenyra is on screen

Yeah, people not flinching when Daemon bashes his wife's head in while being pissed off when Otto speaks.
I guess people watch shows differently. When you just watch it for entertainment with friends then Daemon is fun popcorn character. When you get immersed in the story to the point of forgetting reality for an hour then the tides turn.
Ok final comment (I'm writing so much about Alicent lol, but as a book fan she's very interesting to me because despite being so important in the book she doesn't have much character and the show is completely changing that)
A thing I like about Alicent is seeing her slowly learn strategical maneuvers over the course of the series, from the very first episode to now there's little nuggets of her learning how to control situations and people, and I think she's finally going to use her powerful position as queen for her own benefit. She learned from the best manipulator, Otto the former Hand of the King
Who noticed that Daemon is literally missing his luck for the second time? Rhaenyra allows sex , he passes, Rhaenyra offers to run away and get married, and it was the perfect moment for this, but he passes again)
just wrong moments...you will understand
Notice how he just disappears after the fighting starts? Seems like a odd coincidence.
Bro you will see later on, if you've watched the trailer you see older rhaenyra with deamon
That Alicent and Otto scene at the beginning was amazing. How the show got me crying that quickly I don't know, fantastic writing. Such complex characters, both right and wrong at the same time. And then the rest of the episode DAMN. Love this show!
Otto is like Tywin Lannister except he loves his child
Considering he put his daughter in the worst situation possible and manipulated her to go against her best friend that's debatable more like he loves who she could do for him .
I think Otto is such a complex character. He's definitely self-interested but also very competent and genuinely concerned about stability in the realm - from his conservative perspective of course. He is correct to say that by making a woman heir Viserys is throwing away centuries of tradition in Westeros. It's unfortunately sexist but also the reality and if ignored, war could ensue. The Queen Who Never Was says as much when she cautions Lord Corlys about the danger they're putting their son in.
He's also very correct to say that Rhaenyra's children may threaten Alicent's children. Historically this has happened in many disputes in European and non-european monarchies, children killed merely to clear the line of succession. And remember all of Otto's efforts stem from trying to ensure Daemon would not be king (i love Daemon but dude truly is violent and impulsive, plus he hates court politics, I don't think he'd be good at governing - a great military commander or hand? Yes, but not King)
A lot of people don't realize that Rhaenyra being Queen would threaten laws of male succession across Westeros. Second sons and or first born daughters could see her being queen as justification for them to make claims on lands and titles. The lords of Westeros would not tolerate that.
Otto however did also overreach and at certain points not give the right advice to Viserys. Like it was so stupid to ignore the Crabfeeder for so long.
Great comment, everyone has a shade of grey, no biases for greens or blacks, just the reality of the situation and time period. I wish this was more common.
otto is really pragmatic and I like that about him.
Otto is NOT concerned about stability in the realm and he never has been. He was hell-bent on weakening the crown and reaching for his own ambitions from episode one.
The Triarchy literally feeding people to crabs and crippling trade? "The crown takes it under advisement", allowing a problem to fester while insulting the second most powerful house on the king's behalf. (and also a friendly gesture from him to the Triarchy, a power which will come into play)
The King open to marriage again? Wouldn't it be funny if we manipulate him into marrying my daughter instead of reuniting the only two houses that have dragons? (This was pivotal to the realm's fracture upon succession, because the King's male heir would have no support from house Valeryon)
The King's brother throws a tantrum? How about I go there instead of the King who would actually fix the situation, pretending to help but actually work to widen the rift? (Almost succeeded in escalating hostility until Rhaenyra showed up)
He has overreached much too much for someone of his station and being dismissed was long overdue lashback, and merely amounts to a slap on the wrist. I'll grant that he played the game well, but his ambitions would lead to a lot of death and a lot of suffering, and I especially dislike him for manipulating and using people who trusted and respected him. Daemon's succint comment about him was beyond accurate.
@@GewalfofWivia it’s like we’re watching 2 different shows, I assume your team black?
The point about Rhaenyra setting a precedence for the realm is kinda moot; she would not be heir because she was the firstborn, but because she was *named* heir. Naming an heir was common practice for highly centralised powers where the crown had dominant or absolute power, such as the Chinese empire. Viserys doesn't fall into that category, but still, the difference was worth noting.
Dude, I got heavy red wedding PTSD during that last part NGL. I was at the edge of my seat all the time even if nothing was happening lmao 😂😂. Great episode!
Yess!!! My heart was almost out of my chest, I had my blanket up to my chin!! It was so intense.

Oh man...we all gonna miss Emily Carey (young Alicent) and Milly Alcock (young Rhaenyra) they're beautiful and great actresses! They're doing an amazing job!
They really have been the standouts of the show. Will be missed for sure
Such a great episode. This. Show. Does not miss! 👏🏾
PS. She never got “sick”. That guy used fake concern for her being “sick” as an excuse to mention the Tea bc he knew Alicent would put 2 + 2 together. “A tea?.. from the Grand Maester? …ordered by the King?”
She figures it out fast!
agree...that character made my screen crawl as soon as he appeared. i was surprised he was the Hand's son given how loyal the Hand had been to the King even before he was made Hand. they needed a spider type character and that was probably him, wondering now if he has his own agenda or it's his father's as well...well acted for sure
Ottos primary motivation is definitely setting his family up for power, prestige, success (all those nice adjectives) but tbh, thats to be expected. Him using his daughter to get his grandson on a throne is something 99.99% of Westerosi at this time would do in a heartbeat. Doesnt mean he doesnt care for her.
Also fun fact: In the book, Alicent is wearing green at a tourney. Rhaenyra is wearing a black dress at the same occasion. Im a bit confused why they chose to show Alicents green dress when Rhaenyra was wearing white.
I'm guessing that we will get a scene that's similar to that. Alicent raising her color for battle at the night of Rhaenyra's wedding was seen by the people as something really big. And maybe there will be an important night for Alicent, maybe a nameday for one of her children, where Rhaenyra will be dressed in black and red.
@@iconoclast6555 Rhaenyra dressing black and red to a festivity wouldn't be noteworthy tho. She's a Targaryen, those are the colours of her house. Oh well, we will see how they will handle that next episode.

Really glad you guys are understanding Ser Criston. So many people missed why he snapped. His whole world is falling to pieces, everyone knows he fucked Rhaenyra and forsook his vows. His marriage proposal to her was a last-ditch attempt to justify that and when she turned him down, it meant he did it for nothing.

Soo many people are fucking defending him as well

finally someone who understands
Rhaenyra's perspective: Daemon left me hot and bothered, so I'm gonna have fun with Ser Criston~
Ser Criston's perspective: I'm breaking my oath. I'm going to be an oathbreaker now. They could geld, torture, and behead me for this. Taking off this white cloak, the symbol of my pride and honor is really hard, I'm basically stripping off my honor. But the princess is very beautiful and she wants me, she's showing affection to me, it's hard to resist temptation. Out of all the high lords that are courting her, she chose to spend the night with me. Maybe I'm really special to her.
Some people in the comments: Why is Criston bugging?
😅 I swear some people scare me for their lack of sensitivity or perception about how different people think.
You didn't account for the power imbalance. While Rhaenyra pressured Ser Cole to have sex he could've been thinking, "If I say no and she's spiteful she could surely lie and have my position or even head taken from me." I only bring this up cause everyone says, "cOLe cOUldvE sAId No" when if the positions of power were reversed between the sexes we would all be on the side of the woman.
Actor Fabien Frankel has said though, that the sex was consensual, and goes on to add that Ser Criston, the role he plays, is not a noble knight, he is in fact, a thug. Not that Criston didn’t feel hurt however, but his intentions were less than pure in his deluded sense of honor and love, thus why he broke his oath two more times this episode, by betraying Rhaenyra to Alicent, then by attacking Joffrey & Laenor during the feast.
If I may offer an opinion that isn't just "why is he buggin". I liked Ser Criston up to the point where he took his grief and anger out onto an otherwise uninvolved person. He seems to think that just because Rhaenyra and him had a good night, she's now gotta marry him, and I'd feel pretty bad for him if not for his temper tantrum afterwards. Definitely now with ep 6, he seems like a GoT version of an incel, only he did get laid and got to make that choice for himself. I pitied him for his broken heart, but I think he's extremely out of line here.
Dude had no name or station until she gave it to him. His oath should be to her not the position regardless of the words he said.
Ser Criston is a man in his late-20s/early-30s who has been guarding Rhaenyra since she was 15 for the past 4 years, who apparently was in love with her while standing outside her bedroom. People love to say Daemon’s a groomer when he was no contact with Rhaenyra for the same 4 years, while Criston let his feelings fester while watching her grow up in real-time.
The ending montage was my favorite scene of the series so far. Give me the aesthetics of the red hue of the weirdwood tree glowing in twilight, give me the flickering lights, give me the gloomy ambience of a GoT wedding with an equally gloomy soundtrack & it’s A1! The slightly overlooked heartfelt exchange Otto & Alicent had at the beginning was the most significant moment of the episode imo, other than Viserys dropping. Otto is right. You either hope for Rhaenyra’s mercy in the future or you act now. It's the Tywin Jaime "we can establish a dynasty that last a thousand years" moment. The wedding sets up the first chess pieces for Dance of Dragons. *Rhaenyra and Laenor were being told their wedding vows, but it was Alicent and Criston who were getting “married”.*
That was indeed Steffan Rhodri who played Reg Cattermole, the character that Ron disguises himself as in the Ministry of Magic scene - great spot!
As we are now halfway through Hot D i have a question for Ange (very important!). Where does Daemon rank in the tierlist of loose units currently, and where do you think he will end up when the show ends?

i've read some theories before tonite's ep that the maester's were in on the king's slow decline because they are beholden to the Hightower's and that Otto has more layers than we realize, after the scene with the two maester's something could indeed be up...it's an interesting theory. really nice to see Alicent's actress get a chance to flex her chops before the time jump
It's a weak theory imo especially since the same grandmaester who was pushing for the leeching wanted the King to marry Laena Velaryon
Moon Tea is common knowledge to any sexually active woman in Westeros. Otto likely told Alicent about it in case she ever needed it. Rhaenyra drank the tea and didn’t become pregnant with Criston’s child. She didn’t get sick, Larys Strong was just pretending he thought she was sick because he heard the Maester brought her medicinal tea. Instead it was just the Maester bringing her Plan B. Since Rhaenyra was never sick, Alicent pieced together what kind of tea it was based on the timing.
I don't know if the show confirmed that Rhaenyra actually drank the tea but based on the books and the fact that we're probably not going to talk about it again in the show, I'd say it's likely that she drank it. Or even if she didn't, that it doesn't matter. We'll see. The show can obviously take it in a different direction than the book (I think, for example, the show hasn't really given Harwin Strong enough screentime given his importance later on in the book, so maybe they cut down on his role in the show) but so far they've stayed pretty close to the original story but obviously expanding on the characters.
@@krystofdayne The next episode preview shows that Harwin Strong is getting plenty of screentime. It also wouldn't make sense for one of Rhaenyra's children to be Criston's given Criston's actions later in the series.
I really like Otto too. There are too many people who just blindly hate him and Alicent.
nope not blindly he was the one who pushed Viserys to name Rhanerya as heir because he hated Daemon. Then he schemed his daughter and grandchildren into this mess. THEN proceeded to plant more seeds of fear and hate between Allicent and Rhanerya. He did nothing to prevent the Dance (Dying) of the Dragons, but did everything to make it happen. let’s not act like Alicent is some saint either
@@simonsupersad1722 The way i see it he tried to deny Daemon the throne which is probably a right thing to do for the realm. Then just like every lord in Westeros he tries to marry his kids into the royal family. And how is warning Alicent about Rhaenyra planting seeds of hate? Rhaenyra did that herself by lying to Alicent and acting like a spoiled brat.
GOD!! So refreshing to see you guys actually analyze the show: the characters, the situations, the time they're livin in.

so alicent was mad at rhaenyra for having sex and "lying" to her, when she herself was meeting rhae's father without telling her? lol
Would you go against your king? In my opinion, Alicent had no choice. Her father manipulated her into it and the King insisted she not tell Rhaenyra. Could you imagine if she had told Rhaenyra or went against her father's manipulative ways? The poor girl was in a lose-lose situation and she tried to remedy the relationship with Rhaenyra and Rhaenyra spat in her face. Larys Tyrell 😂😂😂
Managed a duck reference 😁😂😂😂
On eating chicken: I think some of the point of those shots was to show him struggling to eat with whatever remains of his fingers.
I really enjoy your reactions. You are not blindly hating Alicent and Otto
Green is the colour of Alicent's house, the Hightowers.
ur guys reaction are the best
Guy sleept with her once and think she will leave her position to leave with him, I wish I could have whatever he has to be so positive XD
I think they have slept together more than once they are too close, too familiar for it to be just once
@@rosies14 maybe, but by the way he is I think he is very emocional and "in the moment" guy, just like he did in the wedding, idk tho, now you make me think, the show does not make It clear they have sleep more than that one time.
Rhaenyra isn't sick at all, that sleezey guy in the garden was just speaking in standard royal court doublespeak. He was suggesting he believed she was sick because what other reason would the Grand Maester deliver a special tea directly to her room? He knew what that tea was for, he just couldn't say it, so he feigned being innocent about his spying.
Rather than say "Hey, while spying on Rhaenyra, I noticed she was brought a dose of baby-away tea." instead he has to be coy about it and say "She simply MUST have been seriously ill to have the grand maester bring her something directly..." pretending it was done out of seriousness rather than them trying to be covert about it. You can't just speak freely in court.
This episode stressed out both me and my mum because of the ball scene
We knew somethings would happen and the music just made it more stressful
King Viserys didnt die. He just passed out. Major time jump will be on next ep.
Rhaenyra and Laenor talking about their "tastes" was just a subtle way of discussing their sexual preferences (it is sort of commonly known that Laenor is gay).
This episode was awesome
I will say that you're not wrong about Otto's opinion of the realm wanting Aegon to be the heir. But he does not care about said realm only advancing his family's rank.
It's fully possible to care about both. Oldtown is the richest city in all of Westeros, primarily as a center of trade by both land and sea (the Hightower giving name to the eponymous house is, after all, a lighthouse), but also as a center of learning and knowledge. Both of these activities benefit tremendously from stability and peace; historically, among the first group to get killed off in democides are the educated, and as the adage relating to political economy goes: "When goods don’t cross borders, soldiers will."
Him caring about the realm and him caring about his family and house are not mutually exclusive, but rather ultimately much the same.
It's symbolic. I don't know how but it's symbolic. 🙃
Otto gives me Tywin vibes if he was a scholar instead of a battle-commander 😄
i'm still very slightly confused what triggered the actual wedding fight, maybe it was that woman screaming if she saw Daemon with his hands on Rhaenyra, I get Laenor going to trounce on Daemon when he touched his betrothed and emotional Ser Criston jumping in at the same...ah makes more sense having thought about it and tensions were over the top lol...lots of triggers I guess
16:30 Carlie's reaction 😂😂😂😂
Hey quick question, do you guys also do movie reactions too?
On their Patreon!
idk when i first watched it, Criston's interaction with the ginger guy was super weird and the whole convo he had with criston felt almost like a threat. I guess this episode just showed how emotionally driven of a character he is and how much shit that can cause lol. I cant wait to see his relationship develop with Alicent though, so much potential. This was probably the best episode for me so far. this and the 4th one.
also Alicent's entry gave me goosebumps, that music was poppin off
i had the music cranked too it was chilling even before we knew about the color significance. she had a great episode. I think they time jump now that was an amazing sendoff for her work.
What I don't understand and can't defend is that Alicent is "oh she slept with Criston Cole, I hate her, I'm going to take her crown" girl, you went behind Rhaenyra's back to the king's chambers to make him fall in love with you for 6 months, what you are talking about?. What do you care who she sleeps with or not? Ok, you get angry because your father has been kicked out because of her, it's a very weak argument for the reason of the conflict.
Are you purposely ignoring the fact that it was her own father who forced her to do it. Poor Alicent was picking out her own nails and fingers because of the guilt and pressure.
@@Zephur0s she lied or not?
alicent hasnt taken any crown yet. so thats a lie you made up ouot of your ass,
alcient was forced to do that by her father so thats a false equivalence and nowhere near the same thing.
Alicent cares becuase of the consequences. if this gets out, criston is executed, rhaenyras reputation is destroyed, and the entire royal family is embarassed. it might not seem liek a big deal to you that rhaenyra is no longer a virgin befoire marriage but to a medieval society, it is.
Sorry I keep deleting. I realized what I had to say gave too much spoiler. Enjoyed your conversation.
So what is your guess from this point? Which side is gonna win the thrown in the end? :)
Too early for them to guess that imo. The alliances are still muddy right now in the show. They don't even know how Alicent's side will get their dragons XD
i think there was a time jump this episode, one of the characters mentioned it I think, so she must have drunk the tea
That rat drinking that pool of blood is some serious foreshadowing...
... 🩸🧀
I wonder what daemon doing when the fight started 😅
Actually the Lannisters where at a wedding. Joffreys wedding... Joffrey died... Joffrey Lannister.... Now Joffrey died here too.
can't believe people still cape for Ser Incel Cole
Exactly 😒 he's a selfish idiot 🙄
Word of advice for Ser Cristin Cole (although it's too late now): Never open your mouth 'til you know what the shot is.
20:49 You trying not to laugh makes me laugh lol
I'm watching this while putting furniture together and had to stop during the "she's spoiled" portion. You have a teenager who's husband is being chosen for her, so she can risk her life to bear children. Knowing what happened to her mother, I would say f*** that as well. I want to live before becoming a prisoner spitting out children. They showing the dangers of childbirth. Daemons "girlfriend" said she didn't want to risk her life that way.
spoiled from the eyes of the noble class. not spoiled from the eyes of the commoners.
How is no one noticing that the writers are playing with the possibility of Rhaenyra being pregnant in this episode? The subtle showing of her suffering from “sea” sickness. Strong only saying that tea was brought to Rhaenyra, not that she drunk it.
Condensing the timeline like they are?
She isn't.
The next episode promo confirms who the father of her children is.
I agree with you about Otto! I said the same thing on Twitter and they got on me😅😂
You're brave for that 😆Hightower haters are wild~
8:55 I'm already liking Cripplefinger
Unless ofc u want no spoilers at all it would maybe be cool if you do a reaction to the preview of the next episode at the end of the reaction
1 episode for week is the only way for this show work
7:21 , How did ur opinion change so quickly? I thought you weren't liking how scheming otto was from the previous episodes. He did lie , he had no confirmation about Rhaenyra & Daemon Doing IT but chose to tell the king that they did do it. He wants AEGON to be king to make his house more powerful.
Super late to this because I just now rediscovered you guys. This comment might be irrelevant by the end of the season, idk, I hope you don't mind me watching late!
I'm enjoying watching your reactions and I'm not someone who can't deal with people preferring characters in opposition to my favorites, but I do have to say... Rhaenyra is not acting like a brat in the context of this story either. She's meant to be a woman ahead of her time, resisting the boundaries of the patriarchy in her own way. The same as Arya and Brienne. And even Daenerys. You guys do a lot of work trying to understand the psychologies of Otto and Alicent, but I think it was unfair to dismiss Rhaenyra as a brat without thinking about what's going on with her. I love your Attack on Titan analyses and I was enjoying HOTD's too, but I think you dropped the ball on that one. It's okay if you still don't like her in the end, but I hope if you rewatch you'll keep that in mind.
It's okay if you still feel the same. Just wanted to offer a different perspective for consideration. Though of course I still have many reactions to watch and maybe you'll like her better by the end, we'll see.
OK I’m confused because you keep talking about a father daughter moment between Alicent and auto auto wasn’t even there her uncle was, and she wore the green dress to declare war against a Targaryen as in her husband and Daemond and Rhaenyra. That’s why she wore the green dress that is why she made the statement And she saved Cole because she wanted him on her side because she’s already said she didn’t have anyone in court on her sign now that her dad was gone until she could get her dad back which she eventually does but until Harlan and Lionel son the one with the king, kills Harwyn and his dad line on the hand of the king Otto is not allowed back in linking now and then after Lionel is killed auto comes back and then Alicent has her dad back on her side and backing her which is what she is one from day one
The Green Wedding.
