Hollywood has had a very anti-religious bias for some time now, especially in the modern adult programming. People worry about ponographic material in modern tv, but the subtle antireligious bent is far more insidious in most of these shows.
It's not antireligious though. They will never try mocking islam, new age, satanism, buddhism, hinduism, mormonism, jehovas witnesses, etc. It always has to be Christ and those who follow Him.

This is our creator who literally stepped off His throne to be born into the flesh to live a humble poor life and while walking this earth He was preaching the way to eternal salvation that only He could offer. There is a place where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. Where the worm doesn't die and the fire is never quenched. Many voluntarily choose this fate because of delusional ignorance. This show came out a while ago. Has it become prevalent again? I'm genuinely curious because I don't watch TV anymore, and I don't have a ton of social media. I literally read, watch podcasts such as y'all and others.
Well the newest self contained season of the series starring Jodie Foster came out recently and was apparently a let down to fans who widely consider the 1st season with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson to sort of be a masterpiece. So it's gotten brought up a lot as of late in comparison. I personally prefer the unfairly maligned 2nd season with Vince Vaughn and Colin Ferrell. But maybe I'm just a contrarian.
@Geronimo_Jehoshaphat it's also partly because they added call-backs to the first season in the fourth, in an anthology show where each season is supposed to be stand-alone. So they made it worse by give viewers a terrible season all the while reminding them of a better one.

In Romans chapter 1 there’s a list of sins and after Paul tells us the list he said that even people that had pleasure in them that do such things are worthy of d€ath. Also in Ephesians chapter 5 verse 7 he says not to be partakers in other peoples sins of the list he provided. Most secular entertainment is sinful. We have to guard our eyes/ears/heart/thoughts from allowing to enemy to cause us to be tempted or take sin so lightly. I’m currently doing a Bible study on the commandments of the New Testament along with the sins of the New Testament. Currently there are over 1000 commandments I’ve found and 150 sins in the New Testament. I hope what I’ve said here clarified my original post. I’d be happy to talk more if you have any questions.

A late friend of mine who was an ex-convict and attended our church said that a lot of conversions happen AFTER they're put in prison. His personal testimony was that the circumstances and influences that put him in prison were taken away, and he had more time to think about Christ which led him to belief. No one has the right to blame God for their own decisions to delight in the pleasures of life that in the end will be the reason they suffer in eternal torment. The blame is on themselves. Jesus offers a simple way out. It's called salvation. Instead of being happy and thankful that in Christ all will escape this torment because Jesus set them free from this sinful nature and took away their sins to die in their place, they turn their face from their creator and choose to send themselves to hell just so they can keep their lifestyle they created for themselves in this life and so they can do what thou wilt whenever they want however they want. And just like Aliester Crowley, they all will suffer the same fate. In reality, all serve Satan by default even if they are in denial through one of his many religions or by choice serve the living God YHWH. There are two masters. One leads all to hell and the other delivers all from it. Unless they turn to Christ to save them, they all will likewise perish as they are. Just like their god Satan. No one on earth is good. No good deed goes unpunished. Annhilationism is false doctrine. Death is the beginning of pain and suffering. It's not the cessation of it. Jesus is the ONLY Way out. I'd rather die to self and live in Christ forever than live for self and burn in hell forever. Everyone upon death will see the truth. For all who denied Christ, it will be too late. And their fate will be sealed. Forever. For all who are in denial, it's God that holds back the true nature of the kingdom of darkness. Once God lifts His hand and turns His face from this world, that nature will manifest itself and this world will really get a taste of the life they fought against God for. God is the light. Take the light away and darkness takes over. There's a Day coming where every eye will see and every knee will bow. Believer or not. The Day of the Lord is the beginning of the wrath of God. If someone has an ear to hear let him hear. In that day all will seek death and not find it. Choose Christ or choose the wrath of God. The offer of salvation is available as long as God allows you to wake up everyday. As long as he puts that breath of life in you. Don't be a fool. This world won't miss you. There's a reason all religions align together and never persecute each other. And there's a reason all go against followers of Jesus Christ the Messiah. Because Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one goes to the Father except through Him. There is no other way.

But when you watch the whole series at the end he was hurt really bad and said he believed in an afterlife. He repented of his nihilism at the end of the series. Although he wasn’t saved. He is shown to have been an arrogant jerk.

This show came out a while ago. Has it become prevalent again? I'm genuinely curious because I don't watch TV anymore, and I don't have a ton of social media. I literally read, watch podcasts such as y'all and others.
Well the newest self contained season of the series starring Jodie Foster came out recently and was apparently a let down to fans who widely consider the 1st season with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson to sort of be a masterpiece. So it's gotten brought up a lot as of late in comparison.
I personally prefer the unfairly maligned 2nd season with Vince Vaughn and Colin Ferrell. But maybe I'm just a contrarian.
@Geronimo_Jehoshaphat it's also partly because they added call-backs to the first season in the fourth, in an anthology show where each season is supposed to be stand-alone. So they made it worse by give viewers a terrible season all the while reminding them of a better one.

@NinHawAssassin Thank you both for answering my curiosity. I watched the 1st season as well and thought it was great at the time. In 2020, when so many things were being exposed, I was desiring Hollywood less and less. I went down a lot of rabbit holes that ultimately led me to Jesus.
If God didn't exist, I would wonder where "good" originated from. I would imagine a baby left to it's devices to do whatever it wanted. The results would be chaos. I would wonder about all humanity doing whatever we wanted not caring. Chaos. God is divine order. God is real.

I disagress wiht the idea that "they were never saved" just because we can read hebrews 6 describing a believer who knew Jesus, and tasted the heavenly gifts then fallen away. and apostasy is a very real thing in the bible.

Every philosophical/religious ideology that existed suggested that there were select groups and individuals that were favored by god or gods. Every civilization followed essentially a caste system, eiither you were born into favor or not. Christianity was the first that said the individual chooses god. This is clearly the basis of notions of natural rights that formed the basis of free societies developed first in the west. The idea that every person has the right to exist under his free will wasn’t even a thing. Of course after a couple thousand years of development of this philosophy and its influence, now an agnostic can say well any decent person can be moral because they are ignoring the fact they were raised under that influence whether they reject god or not

Also in Ephesians chapter 5 verse 7 he says not to be partakers in other peoples sins of the list he provided.
Most secular entertainment is sinful. We have to guard our eyes/ears/heart/thoughts from allowing to enemy to cause us to be tempted or take sin so lightly.
I’m currently doing a Bible study on the commandments of the New Testament along with the sins of the New Testament.
Currently there are over 1000 commandments I’ve found and 150 sins in the New Testament.

They are full of atheists. People from all faith backgrounds are imprisoned for various reasons.
A late friend of mine who was an ex-convict and attended our church said that a lot of conversions happen AFTER they're put in prison.
His personal testimony was that the circumstances and influences that put him in prison were taken away, and he had more time to think about Christ which led him to belief. He also had those who ministered to him at that time as well.
