I love that you teach, talk with us and have an upbeat attitude… you are an inspiration to even us old guys to keep going on what we love… building. Happy Christmas. Peace Dav
Man, that Patrick's a trooper...and he gave us a great video experience! Thanks once again, I start every weekend watching Life on the Moose. Merry Christmas from Oregon!
Your comments make my day every time I watch an episode and no, I am not going anywhere ... your wit and choice of narrative should set the standard for many other channels I watch, where both narrative and voice presentation leave a lot to be desired ... kudos to you, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family
I'm so glad that you don't edit out your "smooth moves". It makes me feel better knowing that I'm not the only one with those. Again another enjoyable episode, It's amazing to see what you started with compared to what you have now. It's also amazing what perseverance and determination (and financing) can accomplish. Thanks again. God bless and Merry Christmas!
Patrick, the gable and awning trim metal makes the roof look finished. You are a great teacher and have a great positive attitude. Keep smiling and Merry Christmas. Blessings to you.
Hope you’ve had a great Christmas. My father used to say “I love hard work! I can watch it for hours without getting tired of it” looking forward to the next instalment. God Bless
Hi Patrick, I cannot believe you only have just over 17,000 subscribers. What a great channel to watch if you dream to want to build a cabin in the woods. Cheers Steve Melbourne Australia
When I was a very young girl, my Dad built me a playhouse in the backyard for Christmas...my Mom wouldn't let me go outside except in the front lot...but my Dad came many times to the dinner table mumbling about "Only a dam fool would build in the winter "...and I just heard his voice in my head. Of course Mom pointed out how love makes you do strange things. I spent every day in that playhouse..for hours..til I was about 10...then my brother took it over.
I went to a wedding in Seattle, My wife braved a white water raft trip while I waited at the landing to watch the bodies float by. I met some firemen after their whistle woke me up. The hills looked like yours, all brown grass...
Damnnnnn ..a Southern Alabama girl got cold just watching..I have had my doors and windows open today..just airing out the house..it was 67 or so today,,it is 5:25PM now and it is about 55 or so..that is sorta chilly to us down here..but, I don't care I still had my house opened up today...OK>.enough yapping..let me help ya out here..let me get my coat ...well,,let me go buy a coat ,,cause I don't like coats and you only wear one for very short times ,, I'll be right there. lov from south alabama.
Well Patrick, I’m in total agreement with you…the metal and siding look great! I’ve just subscribed and power watched this build from the beginning and I’ve enjoyed your attitude, attention to detail and your craftsmanship. You have me hooked now so please keep up the great content. 👍🏼✌🏼
Such a trooper. Just remember, it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt? Then it's freaking hilarious. Hope you managed to fill that deer tag. Strep throat sidelined me. The Monday that season closed a nice 5 x 5 whitetail walked right in front of my camera where i sit😂. I'm pretty sure the have clocks and calendars given their ability to come in ten minutes after shooting light and to disappear from opening day until the day after season.
Another great trip to the cabin. Also knew I was going to love that window, hope sometime soon you will be able to give us the view from inside through that last window. Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas. See you next week.
I have throughly enjoyed your videos. You are a breath of fresh air with a winning personality, very workman like building procedures, and a dialogue that converses with viewers pulling us into the build. I am astonished at what you alone mange to accomplish. Thank you for an interesting and enjoyable series. Please note that I do not say this lightly because at my age I am not easily impressed. As an aside, next time you eat bear chili you might want to try what we Texans refer to as “frito pie”. This is a combination of Frito corn chips, chili (of some type) and shredded cheese of your choice. Directions- heat chili, add corn chips to your preference as well as the shredded cheese. Some folks even add finely chopped onion to taste and chopped hot peppers of you choice. I know this sounds diabolical but it makes for a warm filling meal. A warning though. It is habit forming. Keep up the good work.
also a trick with extension ladders that have articulating feet is to flip the feet so that the pointed ends stick in the ground to secure from slippage
Hi Patrick, wow, a white Christmas! None of that here I'm afraid. It only got to 35° today... of course we measure in CELSIUs here in West Australia, Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I'll still be following along to see progress on the Mini-Mansion. Cheers, Frank.
Great video. The level of difficulty of completing this task does not go unrecognized by me. Trying to keep ladders from sliding really stretching to fasten metal trim no way for leverage all the while channeling your inner cat reflex’s to keep from falling. Well done! Merry Christmas.
I just love watching your videos you crack me up🤣 not only are you amazing in what you do but you always add some humor, which I just enjoy and to come out in this weather which is really dangerous, and work on the cabin you are really amazing the cabin looks great I can imagine how it’s going to look when it’s finished until your next video stay warm stay strong and god bless my friend 🙏❤️✌🏼and Merry Christmas and a happy new year🎉
Definitely better that way. I admit, because of influences like camera angles and wind direction, that I sometimes take that “shortcut” you’re referring to. Appreciate you watching!
Great job and great video, Patrick. I'm curious... why don't you use any truss (is it the correct word for the platform for building?) for the job on highs? Btw, Merry Christmas for you and family!
Scaffolding? The ground is very uneven around the cabin, and it would be a bit too pricey and time consuming to set up. Good idea tho. I appreciate you watching again! Merry Christmas to you and yours.
@Life on the Moose Didn't your Mom and Dad tell you that the only job in the world you can have and be right maybe 50% (probably less) is being a Weather Forcastor/Weatherman? LOL With that knowledge in mind, would you like to go back in time and change your career field? LOL
Man that Patrick's a trooper. And he gave us a great video experience!
Wow what a nice thing to say! 🙏
I love that you teach, talk with us and have an upbeat attitude… you are an inspiration to even us old guys to keep going on what we love… building. Happy Christmas. Peace Dav
Too kind, but much appreciated. 🙏 Merry Christmas.
Good luck buddy keep yourself safe on the ice and snow.

I appreciate that! The thanks goes to you. Merry Christmas!
Happy icy holidays, and from the warm Canary Islands (Spain), we wish you a very merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas, Canary Islands!
Well done Patrick!
Thank you!

Thank you! 🙏 Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Hope you’ve had a great Christmas.
My father used to say “I love hard work! I can watch it for hours without getting tired of it” looking forward to the next instalment.

Thank you so much, Steve from Melbourne. I’m a relatively new channel, but growing! Cheers!
Really enjoyed this episode, love the way you ask us for help. Want to wish you and yours A MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR
Much appreciated! 🙏 Merry Christmas to you and yours.
That metal flashing is really a bear to cut once it gets frozen.
Thanks for the awesome video! Looking forward to seeing what you do next time.
I appreciate that! 🙏

I’ll take 67 or so!
WoW Patrick! Are you the Daredevil or what?
What a guy has to do to stay on schedule.
Be careful and I’ll see you on the job site next week 👍
It probably looks worse than it is..🤔. 🙏 See you next time!
It would also be helpful, for your safety, if your ladder had Ice Spikes on the feet. They really help in conditions like you're experiencing.
Patrick gave us a great video experience. True statement.
Like working in glass snow globe. Merry Christmas 🎄
Love. that music what's the name of it ?
Great analogy. Merry Christmas!
Should be in the song playlist in the video description.
Thank u for sharing Patrick I think it was a good video experience.😀☃️😁🦌
Thank you!
Hey if we don't see you before Monday have a great Christmas

Merry Christmas!
Awesome job in crummy conditions.
Well Patrick, I’m in total agreement with you…the metal and siding look great!
I’ve just subscribed and power watched this build from the beginning and I’ve enjoyed your attitude, attention to detail and your craftsmanship.

Dang I hate when that happens! Indeed I believe the deer are equipped like that.
Hope you feel better!
Thanks for sharing! Merry Christmas!

Another great trip to the cabin. Also knew I was going to love that window, hope sometime soon you will be able to give us the view from inside through that last window. Hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas. See you next week.
Great idea! I appreciate you watching.
I vote for a name change on the cabin.....The Christmas Cabin!!
Done! It’s official! Until next week. 🙏

Wow I really appreciate that. I’ve had and enjoyed Frito pie! Much thanks to you for watching these videos! 🙏
Merry Christmas 🎄, from Midway,Texas ✌️🤚…..
Merry Christmas, Midway!
A+ Very Difficult to work with ladders in the Snow
also a trick with extension ladders that have articulating feet is to flip the feet so that the pointed ends stick in the ground to secure from slippage
Indeed! When they are equipped as such.
14:37 You have proven that you are an Olympic level scoocher (scooching that metal flashing under the ridge flashing).
It may have been the highlight of the video!
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS....AND HAVE A VERY WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS AND SEASON.....btw..THE BEST IS YET TO COME..AND IT IS COMIN.
Merry Christmas! 🙏
I enjoy watching the cabin come to flourition Thanks for sharing and have a Merry Christmas 🎅
🙏Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you on The Moose.
Merry Christmas!
BTW…..MERRY CHRISTMAS PATRICK AND FAMILY.
Merry Christmas!

Great to have you along again, West Australia. Merry Christmas!
You might consider a giveawy wherein you accept a vistor for a week to help you hold the other end of a board. I would gladly help you out .
Interesting! 🤔
Getting there, not long now ! Cheers
Indeed!
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁🎄
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas!
Great video. The level of difficulty of completing this task does not go unrecognized by me. Trying to keep ladders from sliding really stretching to fasten metal trim no way for leverage all the while channeling your inner cat reflex’s to keep from falling. Well done! Merry Christmas.
Ha thank you! Definitely channeling my inner cat. Merry Christmas! 🙏

I love that you love them! It means a lot. 🙏. Merry Christmas!
when working alone invest in some spring clamps / they would have helped @ 7:35
👍
Better to saw those angles, or any end cut , with the saw weight resting on the board, not the cutoff. I saw your saw wobble mid cut. I😊
Definitely better that way. I admit, because of influences like camera angles and wind direction, that I sometimes take that “shortcut” you’re referring to. Appreciate you watching!
Hello from Siberia! Here in Irkutsk it is minus 36 degrees Celsius. You can't work in light clothes.
Hello, Siberia! Stay warm!
Would it have been possible to first put the flashing on the fascia and then attach it to the roof? 😮
Hmm. I like the ‘out of the box’ thinking!
You asked where we watch. I watch on tv.
Ah thanks!
You need ladder standoff legs so you son't have to reach out, ever your head, on the extension ladder. Much safer.
Near Oroville?
Question. I don't understand why you had your new snow dishwasher delivered on your ROOF? Makes no sense! :-) Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Exactly! Who eats bear chili up there? Merry Christmas!
Looks like you put the end cap on top and not underneath
Ridge cap is over the gable trim. Thanks for watching!
@Life on the Moose Didn't your Mom and Dad tell you that the only job in the world you can have and be right maybe 50% (probably less) is being a Weather Forcastor/Weatherman? LOL With that knowledge in mind, would you like to go back in time and change your career field? LOL
Ha no thank you!
Please no slapstick while the ground is frozen... Stay safe (as boring as that may seem)
None here. Every near-fall was original and unplanned! Appreciate you watching.
