  • Schlenkerla's 6th generation owner and Brewmaster, Matthias Trum, takes us on an in-depth tour of their smoking/malting kiln. This historic production technique is what gives Schlenkerla's Rauchbiers their unique smokiness. Schlenkerla is one of only two breweries in Bamberg that still produce beer using this age-old method, a method which they've used continuously since the founding of the brewery in 1678.
