I recommend following the instructions provided on the label. Most studies and labels say to use it on damp or wet hair and leave it on for 5 minutes. For me personally (2B to 2C and a little bit 3A hair) I use it on damp hair, but I've also used it on completely dry hair before shampooing and I didn't really notice a difference
i suggest do what works best for you, but for most products you will probably remove excess water like in the second video because that allows more product to be absorbed in by your hair and for the product to not be wasted (by mixing with water and not being absorbed) while you’re squishing and conditioning your hair.
