I thoroughly enjoyed your video. You did a wonderful job explaining the H Mack phenomenon. He's truly a unique talent that the world has never experienced before.
It’s difficult to quantify all the elements that makes HM such an instant legend, but I think you took a pretty good stab at it. But what really does it for me, is his kindness, his respect for others, and definitely his humility. There is a story about the admires of Socrates going to the oracle to ask who is the wisest man alive. Rather than something obscure or filled with platitudes, the oracle replied: “Socrates is the wisest man alive.” When they all ran back to inform Socrates what the oracle had said, rather than bathe in the ultimate confirmation, he challenged the oracle, his humility would not let him rest on the laurels of his wisdom. That’s why he’s coined for saying “ The only true wisdom, is knowing we know nothing” I almost guarantee HM is a student of Socrates, and probably also Plato and Pythagoras. Edit: Thank you for this video, very enjoyable, very classy, and well deserved.
Thanks dude! I really appreciate your kind words. I completely agree - HM's kindness really 'radiates through the screen' as that girl from OB said. I like that Socrates story too! 😀
You pretty much can't be a fan of Socrates without being a fan of Plato, since Socrates left no writings. Others did write about him too, but not near as extensively as Plato did. Also, I think, the Socrates we know was largely invented by Plato out of necessity. Bc, if you are gonna write about the perfect example of humanity, you can't write about yourself, for obvious reasons. Socrates is, in a practical sense, like the Realm of Forms version of humans. Edit* made last sentence more clear.
I'm sure he follows classical Greek philosophy. In one if his omegles he started rapping about stoicism, started spitting names of Marcus Aurelius and Seneca. My jaw dropped, truly impressed by the sheer amount of knowledge and topics he can rap about. Harry is a breath of fresh air in the rapping world, he has so many positive attributes, always humble and kindness.
Great video(s), for what it's worth I think some additional reasons I'd list are: -Quick-wittedness/speed of thought. For myself, and I'm sure many others, what stands out in Harry's freestyling - what pushes him from being simply the best to something genuinely incomprehensible - is the totally off the cuff moments where something happens and he IMMEDIATELY works it into his bar. As incredible as it is the way his mind works, when you watch him enough you begin to understand how he processes the words he gets and you can see how he constructs a freestyle and already clearly has some ideas just in the brief wait for the beat drop. Again, still ridiculously impressive.. but some of his best, most candid, and most original lines happen in a split second reaction. One of my favourites is one you ironically skipped over in the obsidian/mitochondria/etc. verse when the extra guy comes into the room and as soon as he leaves Harry calls it out. -His versatility. The absurd number of different flows and cadences he can do, the different beats he can spit to, etc. etc. etc. Arguably these first two fall under "talent" but I think you can break down his talents much more deeply. -His respect for hiphop, especially the history of it. I love when he does bars naming both old and new school rappers, and one of my favourite verses by him is in OB18 for the New Zealandar on the word/topic "hip hop" where he breaks down the four elements of hiphop. It would be so easy for someone of his skillset to be... well, corny, frankly, especially as a white rapper, but he's so well-versed in hiphop culture, and so obviously has such a genuine love and appreciation for it, that it shines through in everything he does from the beats he chooses, to the flows he does, to the references he makes... even his callout/battle/braggadocios style rhymes which he even admits sometimes are at odds with his own personality. And you touched on this a bit in the humility section, but him letting other people show off their own skills, such as the people jumping in on guerilla bars, or Harry just inviting people on omegle bars to show off. It's that cypher circle mentality he talks about all the time. Or when he shouts out people's socials, again it's that community building that has always been a huge part of hiphop, especially in the early days when they were trying to put the scene on the map. We all need to build each other up. I'm sure there are others but these are some that immediately jumped out at me when I first discovered him which you haven't mentioned specifically (though you've definitely touched on them in some of the other categories).
Wow feasible! I love your analysis. I agree with it all. Especially highlighting his clear appreciation of hip hop and the history of it. Like you said, he weaves this affection for the culture into his content via his approach, beats selection and references so seamlessly its wonderful to see. Thanks again for putting this together 😄👏

For me, the critical factor is how he truly "sees" his "co-creators". Not just literally, by including things in the room, or what they are doing while he styles, but by intuiting their mood and what they need to hear. He notices their mood; that they are down or disheartened, and he responds with love. Feeling "seen" is what so many of us are looking for in this heartless world.

Long time Harry Mack fan here. I think you've done well with this review. Toward the end, you labeled some of his key components of success, all of which I agree with. I feel a couple key factors were missed though. You mentioned trivia, but didn't list his thirst for knowledge and current events. He couples those with his deep understanding of people and is therefore able to improv more of his surroundings and basically any random word that comes up. I'm glad his videos brought me to you though. The algorithms certainly help. Keep it up friend!
@@BrieflyExplored I see that you only have a few videos. If you want to, you could do something like this to a channel called KoreanEnglishman. They also have the same wholesome vibe as Harry Mack. Ofc this is only suggestion. You are free to do whatever you want to👍
Cheers for the suggestion Howard! I actually watched one of their episodes recently, the one with the Tottenham players eating Korean BBQ, was good fun 😀
@2:07 props on the edit right there... "Mitochondria" starts playing as "knowledge" appears on screen; easily the most underrated song in Harry Mack's catalog, the speed and intricated schemes on that song are GOD-TIER.. and that song isn't even clipped, not even on Harry's Clips channel!!! 🤣🤷
amazing video! It's funny how you talk about HMack's success being boosted by reactors, because in some ways this documentary is like a reaction video too, except a reaction to his career and success on RUclips. Keep it up!

Hard work and dedication beat talent when talent doesn’t work hard. But Mack’s success is far more than just hard work. The dude has a once in a generation level of talent. His brain is not wired like yours and mine. That much is crystal clear from watching even a few of his freestyles.
Huge H Mack fan bro. Been following u since your first vid u posted going into the details behind the greatness of H Mack. Keep up the great content and I can't wait to see your next video!
Hi Ismail! Glad you enjoyed the video. I definitely should have included him. I've seen a few of his videos and liked his HM reactions a lot. When I made that part I wrote a long list of reactors. He must have fallen through the cracks!
harry recently did an interview/freestyle with Gary vee, where he says he literally has put in tens of thousands of hours, easily. not 10,000 - multiple tens of thousands
When he said "When I finish rhyming no one is going after" its like when the dude on omegle was like oh you a rapper I rap too, but you go first. HMack kills it and then the dudes is just like ok nah im not rapping after that lmao
he is the only freestyler that I am sure if I throw him random scientific words he is 1000% going to rhyme them and change many flows and teach me new things in a fast cadence that my brain wouldn't easily get it all that off the dome !!!..his ability is divine and it's a shame to compare him to freestylers because the so called "freestyle" is 90% pre-written and 10% freestyle without random difficult words.Harry talent is above what a human being can do
On the topic of his Hard Work, I don't think anyone realizes that what we see is only a fraction of the work this man puts in. He also does private requests and gigs, a lot of which doesn't make it to his channels.

Cheers David! You make some great points there 😃
he is objectively the best freestyler in terms of how often he messes up, vocabulary range, number of different styles, etc.
Harry is a good example of 'be yourself and the right people will find you'
Absolutely!
@@BrieflyExplored 👍
@2:07 props on the edit right there... "Mitochondria" starts playing as "knowledge" appears on screen; easily the most underrated song in Harry Mack's catalog, the speed and intricated schemes on that song are GOD-TIER.. and that song isn't even clipped, not even on Harry's Clips channel!!! 🤣🤷
Cheers bro!
Great vid & analysis U definitive got it on Point
Cheers Steve! Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Allways, you are a inspiration for ppl who want to know how to properly make a x Points Argumentation video, perfectly made and executed :)
Cheers buddy! Really appreciate that
"Yeah, this ain't a rapper, this a fckin' movement"
(background beat at beginning is perfectly chosen btw 😉)
Haha cheers Mashalla! 😃
From my own experience, and witnessing my own child's, I must say I think Gladwell's theory is fairly accurate.
Thank you for using the "Roses" instrumental throughout the video. That beat is fire.
No worries! I completely agree. It's one of my favourites
amazing video! It's funny how you talk about HMack's success being boosted by reactors, because in some ways this documentary is like a reaction video too, except a reaction to his career and success on RUclips. Keep it up!
Haha that's very true Darius! I'm glad you liked it 😀 I'll keep it up for sure. Currently working on the script for the next vid
Brilliant video man, HARRY MACK THE G O A T
Haha definitely! I'm glad you enjoyed it Leo 😀
Such an amazingly crafted documentary! Loved it!
Can you do some more docs but on alternative stand up comedians?
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it buddy. Which comedians were you thinking?
@@BrieflyExplored Like Bo Burnham, James Acaster, and Stewart Lee. These people are different from the rest perhaps you should dig into in it. If you like it, give it a shot!
You earned a subscriber anyway though!
Cheers for the suggestions! I'm a fan of all of those you mentioned actually, especially Stewart Lee 😀 (and thanks for the sub!!)
This is fire 🔥
Thanks buddy!
Great video 🙏
Cheers Osis! Glad you enjoyed
Hard work and dedication beat talent when talent doesn’t work hard. But Mack’s success is far more than just hard work. The dude has a once in a generation level of talent. His brain is not wired like yours and mine. That much is crystal clear from watching even a few of his freestyles.
Harry Mack is amazing, I've been following him since back when he had next to no followers lol..
Huge H Mack fan bro. Been following u since your first vid u posted going into the details behind the greatness of H Mack. Keep up the great content and I can't wait to see your next video!
Cheers buddy - I recognised your name from my first vid! Thanks for the kind words and support. Means a lot :)
@@BrieflyExplored Definitely bro! I've been watching every one u uploaded. Was excited when I got the noti for this one 👑
That's so awesome. Today I began the early planning for the next one. Might be a few weeks until it's ready though!
@@BrieflyExplored nice! I'll be there for that one as well. Got the notis on so i'll see it

Thank you Cole! That's very kind of you to say. Your comment really made me smile
Nice video ! Share love as many as possible ! 🔥🔥
I just wished that u give props to Anthony Ray in 0:50. One of the best reactors to Harry Mack.
Hi Ismail! Glad you enjoyed the video. I definitely should have included him. I've seen a few of his videos and liked his HM reactions a lot. When I made that part I wrote a long list of reactors. He must have fallen through the cracks!
Great documentary! Loves your voice. Subbed.
Thank you Takisanti :) and cheers for the sub!
Harry is on 🔥🔥 ,i sub. him for some years now .
The goat, thnx for the documentary
No worries bro - I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

😇
Thank you Daniel 🙂
THIS IS REALLY GOOD YOOOOO
Thanks Elijah!!
wow amazing video
Thanks Naman! Very kind of you to say that :)
Thanks for the video
Making of a legend as a musician. F*ck the industy. Great video.
Cheers Lanny! Glad you enjoyed the vid 🙂
harry recently did an interview/freestyle with Gary vee, where he says he literally has put in tens of thousands of hours, easily. not 10,000 - multiple tens of thousands
When he said "When I finish rhyming no one is going after" its like when the dude on omegle was like oh you a rapper I rap too, but you go first. HMack kills it and then the dudes is just like ok nah im not rapping after that lmao
😂 True! That was funny
he is the only freestyler that I am sure if I throw him random scientific words he is 1000% going to rhyme them and change many flows and teach me new things in a fast cadence that my brain wouldn't easily get it all that off the dome !!!..his ability is divine and it's a shame to compare him to freestylers because the so called "freestyle" is 90% pre-written and 10% freestyle without random difficult words.Harry talent is above what a human being can do
1 reason! HARD WORK EVERYDAY
harry mack for president.
Leaving the comment to help the algorithm :)
I like how you edit out the dude with the wife beater.
On the topic of his Hard Work, I don't think anyone realizes that what we see is only a fraction of the work this man puts in. He also does private requests and gigs, a lot of which doesn't make it to his channels.
Very true Irwin!
Harry is Macmagic !!!
you know you a super h mack fan when you've watched all these clips in it's original video lol
😂😂
IMHO - hes somehow connected to another layer of information. Like some kids, who speak languages they never learned.
He started rap in 2002, the same year 8 mile came out!!
Swimming pools from the jungle, haha so true
Yeahh man like our boy from Philippines ez mil natural talent musicians...
