Yessss, I knew I remembered seeing this scene where Wilykat pushed his sister into one of the suspension pods as a joke! I thought I had imagined it as a kid because when I bought the dvds the first episode didn't contain some of these scenes. So thank you for posting these deleted scenes.
Pretty sure they weren't planned to be twins yet in the pilot. One of those "story isn't fully planned yet" things like with Luke and Leia in Star Wars.
As a kid I never realized they were wary of the suspension capsules. Snarf and wily kit were scared. Rightfully so seeing how it did lion-o. Could’ve killed them all if it completely malfunctioned.
I just ran a session of my homebrew DnD campaign, and there was an emotional moment where the king of a region was thanking the players for saving so many people. I was inspired by Jaga, emulating his voice as best I could, and played Jaga's Theme, the soundtrack we hear in the background of this scene. Everyone was in tears at the end, even I had to wipe a few away.
2:41 Such an emotional moment with Wilykit, and they didn´t keep it... :,-( It´s sad; the more I´m glad that you posted this little gem, ThunderCatsLairORG! :-D
Other suttle changes: 2. The Kit's clothing not only looks different (obviously), but where the shoulder straps on the Wily Kits r placed is. 1985's Kit has hers on the right, & 2011's Kit has hers on her left side. And then, there's where the shoulder strap is placed on 2011's Kat, verses where the brown coloring on 1985's Kat is - 1985's Kat has his brown coloring on the right of his T shirt, while 2011's Kat has his shoulder strap on his left side.
Jaga is a true leader. I hope our Malaysian politicians can learn from him. Those politicians always have negative opinions on western cartoons. Kids in the 90s watching this cartoons grown to be great leaders.
I think Jaga, while everyone was in stasis, purposely made adjustments to Lion-o's capsule, so he would be strong enough for the life on Earth. There had to be some sort of feeding unit and muscle stimulation device to get Lino-O that well muscled, otherwise he could not have gotten that built in stasis.
I've always though that if the make a live action film, they should show Jaga tampering with his capsule and saying "forgive me Lion-O". It would also add to his willingness to die for all the ThunderCats as he feels so guilty about robbing Lion-O of his childhood.
I respectfully disagree, firstly because it would be completely out-of-character for Jaga to do something like that - and secondly because one of the recurring aspects of the series was that Lion-O's having an adolescent mind in a grown man's body tended to get him into more trouble than it avoided. At the end of the day it's a Saturday morning show, so there's bound to be some story gaps and handwaving! For what little it's worth, I always figured that it was down to the damage the ship took in the battle with the mutants, though it's still suspiciously convenient for the narrative that it turned out to be only Lion-O's capsule that was affected... :)
I think it’s more…a decision that is needed…Jaga needs Lion-o to be lord of the Thundercats as soon as they make it to third earth…they would’ve never listened to lion-o if he were still a child, he needed him to be a man and a leader for the others, the fact that it was just Lion-O’s that malfunctioned and none of the others…what are the chances of that happening, it’s a bit of a coincidence! 👍
Well I think it was the first time they used the suspension capsules and somehow lionos capsule malfunctioned. Afterall even snarf wasn't convinced those things worked
It's sad that even a few seconds were deleted. There's a comment about the writter not deciding kit and kat's relationship but it always seemed to me in exodus that the writter decides that Lion-o was jaga's father. Later on ofcourse Claudus appears which confused the ever living daylights out of me.
As the description says; while this isn't a "deleted" scene as such, it is extended versus the TV episode - Jaga's speech is longer, WilyKit's reaction is included, and the pan across the capsules is complete. It's probably more accurate to say the the TV version - which is also the one on the DVDs - was cut for time (in fact the edits are quite jarring when you compare the two versions). The pilot and home VHS versions of "Exodus" were not cut for time, and so those of us old enough to have seen them when we were younger will remember the deleted scenes as being included. I believe that copies of the VHS version are still quite prized by fans for this reason. On a tangent, one thing I never understood about the TV editing choices is why they opted to cut parts of Jaga's speech and WilyKit's farewell, but left Snarf's (IMO somewhat out-of-place) lines intact... ;)
Panthro says they either make the trip in the suspension capsules or they perish in space. So Third Earth is light years away and it's said that it took them 10 galacto years to get there. Lion-o was 12 when they started the journey and when they arrived he had aged to 24. His suspension capsule malfunctioned some, slowing down his aging process but not as much as the others'. So I'm guessing a galacto year must be longer than a regular year. I'd say it must've taken them decades to reach Third Earth. As Jaga died before they reached Third Earth and even said that even in a suspension capsule, he still wouldn't live long enough to reach their destination.
As I understand it, the original concept for Kit and Kat were to be adults of a smaller species such as housecats. This helps explain that "beautiful when you're angry" line, although that's not beyond normal sibling torture, heh heh. One could say under those conditions, Lion-O could have been the only actual child, so the effect of ageing would be most noticeable for him. The writers then wrote the twins as brother and sister and treated them as kids, so the show evolved accordingly.
yeah he wasn't sure whether to make a romance with them or have them be brother and sister and just be good friends until after the first few episodes.
The last suttle change I can think of 4 the Wily Twins: 3. I don't think this was on purpose, but if u listen 2 the voices of the Kits from 1985 you'll notice that Kat has a deeper sounding voice than Kit. But n the 2011 version, Kat has a more high-pitched voice than Kit. It's almost funny when u hear the 2011 Kits talking n general.
they were kind of incompetent. towards the end, wilykit got something to do with lion-o. I feel like they made the characters kind of generic and obvious overall(across all media). While the thundercats being a bit generic to each other in the original made some sense and it made their differences stand out. Though that series did get better as it went on. It wasted it's episode count for no reason.
Had Lion-O didn’t turned into an adult he would have been a modern day Tom Sawyer lord of the Thundercats, and would have made Wilykit a modern day Becky Thatcher, and Wilykat a modern day Huckleberry Finn.
GadGades I could always imagine a version of the first episode where the then 12 year old Lion-O had been friends with the kid versions of Cheetara, Panthro and Tygra and the Wily twins. And before the destruction of Thundera those kids would have called themselves the ThunderCubs.
@WeirdoNetwork I think Kit and Kat were meant to be full-grown Thundercats in the pilot (the show's version of wildcats, which are smaller than lions, tigers, cheetahs, panthers, and so on). They don't behave like children nor are they treated as such by the others as Lion-O is. As the show progressed, they are suddenly treated like children (Thunderkittens), which creates a conflict with what's seen in the pilot. (If they are kids, their parents are never mentioned.)
If any1 has seen the 2011 version of the Kits, you'll notice many suttle changes: 1. Kit & Kat's colors have been switched. Kat from 1985 (or whatever date the TV show was made) is peach-colored/pale compared to Kit from 1985 who is more yellow & appears darker. The Kits n the 2011 version have the fur colors of the Kit of the opposite gender. N short, Kat & Kit (2011) r peach & appear paleish, Kat (2011) & Kit r more yellow & appear more darker than their siblings.
That made me think they're a culture advanced to the point of regularly visiting other galaxies, but then they wouldn't have been limited to living on one planet. Then again, maybe they were snobs and that would end after spending some time on Third Earth!
hey has anyone made a thundercats fanfiction about wilykit and kat not related and in love?please tell me, the only one I can find is "kitandkat" and it still has them related.
Being a former fanfic writer and regular as far as the Thundercats crowd goes, I don't remember seeing stories building from the original concept like that, but it would be interesting.
@@Mad-Bassist Yeah, the reason I asked way back when was because the original writer for the show hadn't decided whether to have them be unrelated and have an eventual romance or to make them siblings and just be friendly with each other. A few episodes later he decided on making them twins and kind of retroactively made them "thunderkittens" instead of just a smaller species of thundercat, (think real life wildcats vs the tigers, lions, and panthers) which further made them not suited for a romance. I just like reading Fanfics for "might have been" scenarios and was disappointed I couldn't find one using the "unrelated full grown wildcats" version. 8 years was a long time ago, but if you happen across one I'd still appreciate being directed to one if it exists. Thank you in advance.

I love this series with all my heart.
Same 👀 😭 no
“When in doubt chicken out” yup 👍🏻
I'm not crying, you're crying.
Says you
We are all moist in the eyes here 😢
Don't cry
This series is crying for pity
As much as I love jaga's character I would still like to have seen more of Claudus, lion o's father. Jaga was second compared to him.
Even as a kid I thought Kat's flirty tone with his twin sister was weird...
Superluminal travel( hyperspace, warp drive and the like) made life easier
Well, technically Wilykit and Wilykat are older than Lion O mentally
I just ran a session of my homebrew DnD campaign, and there was an emotional moment where the king of a region was thanking the players for saving so many people. I was inspired by Jaga, emulating his voice as best I could, and played Jaga's Theme, the soundtrack we hear in the background of this scene.
Everyone was in tears at the end, even I had to wipe a few away.
The leader dies of old age in deep space. Pretty deep plot for a kids show
Perhaps this is indicative of whatever culture you live where relatives don't die from old age
2:41 Such an emotional moment with Wilykit, and they didn´t keep it... :,-( It´s sad; the more I´m glad that you posted this little gem, ThunderCatsLairORG! :-D
It shows that she maybe a badass and brave but deep inside WilyKit is just a scared little girl.
Yes. Wilykit was in tears.
Other suttle changes:

Wooooow! I haven't seen this since I was a kid. I def not choked up right now.
Not bad for the 80's :) I should watch this
This wasn't a deleted scene as far as I know. I vividly remember this scene.
The first part was deleted.
@@RyanHipp ...The first part aired in the pilot in S. Florida.
@@RyanHipp in certain States and certain countries but not all of them.
In fact, is an extended scene, it has a lot of sequences added
It's on the original VHS release of Exodus, I remember this when it aired here as well, they cut it out the dvd versions for some reason.
Jaga is a true leader. I hope our Malaysian politicians can learn from him. Those politicians always have negative opinions on western cartoons. Kids in the 90s watching this cartoons grown to be great leaders.
This is not a deleted scene, it's on the vhs I had as a child
I think that s narl line somtimes gets deleted. I've read about that.
megasiryn81 yeah I was thinking it wasn't a deleted scene I have the DVDs
Same here. It's on the DVDs I have.
It's only deleted from the cable reruns.
Jaga instantly immortal which such bravery
Who's cutting the onions?
I always remember Jaga being like a cross between Jesus and Obi wan Kenobi.
Jaga was the true Lord of the Thundercats.
Ok

It is called COMPLAN
So..Lion-O ages and Wily Kit and Kat don’t.
Jaga says he can’t survive the journey in suspension, but makes it nearly it all the way outside it.
Well I think it was the first time they used the suspension capsules and somehow lionos capsule malfunctioned. Afterall even snarf wasn't convinced those things worked
This was my favorite scene. I wish they didn't delete it.
It's sad that even a few seconds were deleted.

Pacing's rather slow, isn't it? Ah, the 80's
Panthro says they either make the trip in the suspension capsules or they perish in space. So Third Earth is light years away and it's said that it took them 10 galacto years to get there. It is still weird, though, that Lion-O aged while Kit and Kat didn't.
Its Because Lion O's suspension capsule had a malfunction

that scene upset me when I first saw it
it was because wilykat realized that he would need to get wilykit into the capsule himself because she would resist a lot if he did not.
I remember seeing this back in the day
yeah he wasn't sure whether to make a romance with them or have them be brother and sister and just be good friends until after the first few episodes.
They're doing intergalactic travel with lightspeed engines? How the fuck did they expect to get to their destination in a single lifetime?
I dont understand why they removed the scene from the dvd??!!! This removed scenes are important.

@QuickSilver121581
It's "deleted" in a sense because bits of the scene are missing from the DVD release. It says so right in the description.
Was kat hitting on kit? #twincest
@Phaeravin that could have been a huge passage of time later. We don't know how long Jaga was there alone.
Such an epic moment. ~_~
Good Job
Thats explained why i'd never watched Willykat entered into the suspention's capsule
This is not what was eventually aired or placed on VHS or even HULU. This scene was edited for certain
I found it on Hulu?
always been curious about that 4 percent
If it's similar to our Earth, then probably Nitrogen.
This was on VHS
they don't show him piloting it for a long time because that would be boring, they just skip ahead.
Why can’t I find this series anywhere
This scene is cut? What a shame
I think the title of the video is very misleading
The Mutants reached 3rd Earth without suspension or aging??
Acustic Sunri ha! Good point
Plot hole
"sigh" yes but it was not decided until a few episodes later, and that, in my opinion was the biggest mistake of thundercats.
I take it this clip is from after Jaga gives them their battle costumes?
I grew up with the 80's version- I loved it- however I love the new Wily Kit and Kat much, much better!
they were kind of incompetent. towards the end, wilykit got something to do with lion-o. I feel like they made the characters kind of generic and obvious overall(across all media). yeah that would be the main difference that would mess up the rest of the series,(or at least wilykit's and wilykat's interactions).
Does any one know if I can get this on DVD? I was born in the '91 but had these 2 pilot episodes on video would love to be able to watch them again.
On Amazon.com
it wasn't decided that they were twins at that episode botgal1.

Why was this scene deleted
And Bye bye old chief lol
The Milky Way being dinky and not much as galaxies go. A puny little sun. That dialogue was completely unnecessary.
Majorness
2:48 panthro all right if we going to do it let's do it
Small, dinky galaxy? Puny sun? Like what they had on Thundera was bigger. I didn't like that dialogue. The writers didn't have to put that in.
Yeah. Let's see how they would have fared with the likes of Antares, Betelgueuse, Rigel, Canopus or Aldebaran.
That made me think they're a culture advanced to the point of regularly visiting other galaxies, but then they wouldn't have been limited to living on one planet.
Then again, maybe they were snobs and that would end after spending some time on Third Earth!
Peep The Technology
That's why liono aged

that is cool

ooooooo kit and kat sitting in the lair K-i-S-S-I-N-G XD LOL
Pffft pffft that pretty wrong

yeah they didn't build the series perfect for the wilys from what happened in the pilot. I also think of them as a smaller species of thundercats.
@KARINKAOLIVIA They are a male and female twin so bro and sis, lol.
@KARINKAOLIVIA and that means that they are brother and sister duh :)
hey has anyone made a thundercats fanfiction about wilykit and kat not related and in love?please tell me, the only one I can find is "kitandkat" and it still has them related.
