we appreciate an instrumental fan! i also love listening to instrumentals and for most of pixy's i actually listen to them frequently (esp betwitched and villain which ended up quite high on my top played songs list for 2022)
Yeah you're right, the members said they were torn between Hide&Seek and Flip a Coin for Title Track and couldn't decide so they make a re-mix of the two and Karma was born haha is interesting to see they did that, and honestly I can see it, both songs have kinda TT potential, so I see why they couldn't pick between them. Great reaction btw 👏🏻👏🏻
I could not agree more with everything that you’ve said here! What an incredible experiment for PIXY to knock out of the park! And conceptually I feel like having these tracks cycling in and out of each other really reflects what has been going on within the lore of the PIXY universe, which is really cool thematically as well.
I think KARMA as a mashup works well despite how different the songs actually are because they're using mostly Hide&Seek and just the chorus of flip a coin, and we're pretty used to anti-drops and switch ups in kpop as it is so it's like "whoa" but not entirely shocking y'know?
imho this might be their weakest album from them so far. i'm still not sure how to feel about the title track being a mashmix of the bsides. very difficult to recreate that unique sound when their main producers, main vocal, and main rapper leaving. and i hope they go back to the dark fantasy concept but since villain they seem to be going a different direction now.
Always good to have a personal opinion about something, and thank you for being respectful about posting it; I'm always intrigued as to what the community thinks about a release. Most groups are going to have that teething period when a member change happens and PIXY I think are no exception. Going for a hybrid title track was going to be a gamble for anyone, and I guess we'll see how it plays out for them.
Their main producers, Dr J and Glow, are still there. They go by their real names now 조영배 and 이주형. Only Kevin left and he didn't have total control over PIXYs sound like people seem to think. Sorry, I respect your opinion, but I am tired of Kevin getting all the credit when J & Glow have been there since day 1 and contributed just as much as Kevin did to PIXY's sound.
The album is amazing. Took me a hot minute with the first 3 songs, but I got on board after a couple of listens. lol It almost feels like 1 really long song, which is nice becasue I'm always wishing the songs would be longer. lol Gonna drop my list just because you said you're not too familiar with their discography. :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Here's my list of PIXY's discography in case you or any one else dropping by this reaction is looking for more music by them -- DEBUT SINGLE - February 2021 'Wings' World View

That high note from "Falling" was actually by Sua not Dajeong.
And the first rap in "Flip a coin" was by Rinji and the deeper voice was by LOLA.
Thanks for the help

wish karma was it's own song instead of a mashmix. i like the bsides and falling is great.

Lola has always been the main rapper, she just wasn't on her debut, because she was DiA
