I sent this video to a friend. We been playing since 2018 and we talk about this idea all the time. We might give it a shot and play it out. Right now on my main I am 740 GS and just grinding for my Aton boots and I’m sick of the new grand spots. So this might change BDO for veterans for ever ❤
I definitely think if you're a veteran player and feel like the current game is stale, try and make a new account with some challenges! It truly is a fun experience. LOVE these types of account reset series. Id say you should be allowed to use the central market purely for storage but if you wanna make it harder have at it. ill enjoy following along!
I simply don't want to use it just because it's connected to the central market, but I should be fine given the amount of storages there are now with every major city. And I'm excited with this account reset, curious if anyone else will make one in the near future
Dude!!! i love this idea been thinking about it myself lately tbh. Now that i'm almost at my 750GS goal not sure what else I wanted to do aside from pen debo grind and crons. But that doesnt seem fun and seems like a good way to burn me out so was thinking iron make for nostalgia as well. Miss the old days of expericing the game for the first time and the progression etc. I remember starting off and grinding wandering rogues den for silver and soldiers cemetery. think all +15 grunil and rosar wep was the highlight for me :D. But yeah man enjoyed the video and looking forward to the new series and content :D
That's exactly how I feel! Currently at the point where PEN Debo's are something I could work towards which on average takes a lot of time to grind the crons etc. But I would give it a try! It truly is so fun grinding at Helms, Sausans, and even Manes again.

That's the fun part about this challenge, I do have some ideas as to how I'll obtain those rarer boss items like Urugons. Just gonna have to wait for the future episodes 😉

Haha thank you! I thought it would be more enjoyable for me with the stricter rules, I feel as though there's only a few other things I could've added to the rules to consider it an "Ultimate Ironman" But I do plan on streaming my progression soon! Currently still working on my TET Debo earring on the main, so once we check that off the list then we'll allocate more time into the ironman.

It's honestly so fun, I'm enjoying this early portion of the game since I can reminisce. I'm excited to get into the mid game though

When i started playing, there was already Naru gear, so i have missed 'ye olde yimes', which is bit sad. There was still gap from Naru to boss gear that made you taking risks even in those low AP areas. With Tuvala, you pretty much skip this Soldiers Cementery, Ancient Ruins.. first encounters with more serious content.
I understand why they do this, game is 10y old and there probably isnt that many new faces, but its little sad. You get tuvala for free, tet boss gear for free, you upgrade it for set price and whats left is really just endgame grind. You get alot of speed and cover large area quickly, but then you hit wall that might be stopping point for many.
Yeah, I recently talked about this on a previous stream where new players are kinda shoved into the mid game with all the free gear from seasonal etc. Now new players can get a free PEN and TET blackstar by just completing some of the main questline, I get how this helps by getting them closer to the end game content that they've been releasing. But a lot of those early grind spots like Sausans, Helms, Catfish, etc. aren't even touched nowadays due to the accelerated progression.
That's the main reason why I restricted myself from Naru, Tuvala, Jetina, etc. Because I wanted to enjoy those early grind spots that were such a staple back before 2020. I understand that the game is constantly evolving, but it would be nice if they allowed new players to experience those old grind locations or at least revamped them to give them purpose.

Love the idea, but one question. Wouldnt u get some green weapons by also playing the balenos questline for an easier start in grinding?
Hi yes! You do obtain some green grade weapons like the Elsh weapon, or Azwell weapon through the Balenos storyline. Since I started at the Mountain of Eternal Winter, I sacrificed getting those early weapons for the Bronte's earring. But I'm currently running through the Balenos storyline, I just wasn't able to get to it in this first episode.

you know if youre limiting yourself to quest items, you can quest your armor and weapons right? NARU to narchillian??
I feel as though with my rules I'm allowing myself to cherry pick what I can / cannot use with quest items. Yes I can earn Naru gear through completing the main storyline quest, but knowing the increased enhancement rate that Naru gear has, I personally don't want to use it which Is why I'm taking the time to acquire Grunil gear.

@@Ahzure_ naru is for beginners and will help you cut a bit of time with grinding for gears man. I just dont want to see you suffer when there is a quest offering you a bit of leeway. Dont tell me you will not get your free tet blackstar also?

I appreciate the concern! This is just how I want my experience on the account to go, like I mentioned in the rules I don't want to use Naru gear which means no Narchillian gear. I find joy in grinding the OG spots for Grunil or other Green grade gear. But like my rules also state, I cannot accept any pre-enhanced gear which does include the free TET blackstar at 61. @@summertime8525

There isn't! To my knowledge the Arms Dealer vendors sell up to Green grade armor / weapons like Grunil etc, anything from an npc that isn't included in my rules (Naru, Tuvala, etc) is fair game. So if I need to repair my armor through buying them then that's okay.

I purposely didn't want to buy them because I knew I'd be grinding at the spots that drop them due to questing, plus I find it a little more fun getting the Armor box and opening it as opposed to outright purchasing them. I also might be mistaken by this, but I believe some green grade pieces sold by NPC's are gatekept by amity games.

Technically you're right, if pearls are given by PA that should be okay. But for integrity purposes, I wouldn't accept / use them
You took it a step further with the no tag and no other character that’s hardcore
I wanted to make this series closer to a hardcore ironman, so it felt appropriate to only have 1 character
Now why would someone do this thing to themselves....Especially on a dead game.
I think I'll always enjoy BDO regardless if it's considered dead or not, but I felt this would be a fun challenge. And who knows, maybe I could grab a few peoples attention and entice them into playing the game!
