I am not a woodworker, or mechanic. I make home repairs, remodel, and do minor repairs to our automobiles. I watch youtube videos for instructions. Things usually turn out great. A few years ago I picked up a large custom made entertainment / corner desk at the Salvation Army for forty dollars. I repurposed it into a corner hutch for my kitchen. I moved the slides for the desk to the bottom storage shelves I made. The slide feature was an after thought; so I hadn't kept track of how the slides had been installed in the first place. They don't work correctly, but it didn't matter for storage shelves. Now, I want to use those shelves for my pots and pans. So, the problem needs to be fixed. Your video will save me a lot of time. Thank you for making the video.
You said you were going to set it back 1/16” of an inch past the front…. But you didn’t say why? What the purpose of doing that? Also I was curious about the drawer face. In the beginning it looked as though the eventual drawer face would overlap the edges. But the end result showed the drawer recessing inside the cabinet. I assume the face would also recess in them too? Anyway… thanks for the tips! Looking forward to trying some out this summer when I can reopen the workshop (aka my cold garage)
I just like the look of a 1/16” recess better and it also gives me more room for error. If I plan on the drawer face being perfectly in line with the cabinet front edge then there is a chance it sticks out slightly. Yes, the drawers face will recess into the cabinet.
A RUclips presentation titled "You're doing it wrong!" is a turnoff ... arrogant, aggressive, condescending. With another title I would have watched this.
Ignore the haters. I think your instructions were great, very detailed and informative. Not from some mofo inexperienced guy. Good job sir and subscribed.

I followed your video it helped a lot! But now how do I get perfect face install just shim it than mount?
2:38 here if you put the right slide back 3 cm what will happen?
This is amazing watching from Nigeria ❤❤❤
Thank you!
I install my slides the same way and yet according to you I'm doing it wrong. Therefore you have just installed your slides incorrectly.
Great point! I’ll change the title now.

Yet you took the time to comment?
@@noahlounsbury3656 I like to help folks out when I see an issue ... I doubt the author really is arrogant, etc., and might appreciate the feedback
Agree. Clickbait, I will check another video on this topic instead.
According to RUclips I have breathing wrong my whole life.
👏👏👏
Couldn’t stand to listen to you over the “music/noise” over your voice……very distracting
Thank you for the feedback. For that reason I have stopped putting music in my videos so my newer videos will be just shops sounds and voiceover.
