The endearing quality George had was to be so truthful. Probably one the nicest musicians of any time.

I'm suprised there are so little comments. George sticking up for English TV, being honest about drugs, just being an all round great guy with concerts for war torn people. Great Englishman. God bless him in Heaven.

Thanks to MetrazolElectricity for posting these Dick Cavett interviews with George Harrison and , at the end, Ravi Shankar. I really appreciate the opportunity to see them and will watch again. Priceless experience.
    Thank you.

I noticed Paul never did a lot of these shows. He does do them now though in his later years.

Thanks for uploading these 3 parts. It reminds me of a simpler time when music was much more interesting. Simple because I was still a kid and the world around me was much more friendly. I miss some of the real hippies.

Great interview. Dick Cavett is so annoying by always trying to be funny but he did ok with this interview. I loved when George basically said American TV sucks. I agree 100%. Love you George, PEACE !! !!

What he said went right past you.... Ravi said that he didn't hold George responsible for the misconception that sitar music is influenced by drug use, although it was George's passion for that music that brought it to the attention of the masses. Those are two different things.

Those criticizing Dick Cavett and his interview skills should see the beginning of his interview with Brando, where Marlon points out (correctly) that Cavett has the task of trying to do intellectually stimulating interviews with stimulating guests while appeasing the network and his sponsors, their wishes and needs. Further, Brando went on to say he does yeoman duty and does it well, which is why he agreed to appear on Cavett's show.

Well, that was very interesting. Thank you George for being truthful as you could. You let a couple of things fly...and I caught it. (Spikes ball)

This interview got off to a very bad start; there seemed to be no rapport; George was giving monosyllabic answers, and Cavett talked too much... When Cavett asked about drugs near the end of Part 1, the whole interview got better; Harrison started giving thoughtful answers, and Cavett asked better questions...
    Great upload; thanks for sharing!

2:45! Sue me! He rocks. Lennon said George purposely made "My Sweet Lord"s parts sound like "He's so fine" and got sued and had to pay the mpney...but was fine with it, because that's what he wanted to do with what the taxman left of The Beatles 93% surrender to the govt. for taxation. He knew even back then, and way before this interview that America is sue-happy. No wonder they loved Billy Holiday, Peggy...Sue

I find indian and middle eastern music rather relaxing sometimes..
I'm a drug addict also. But I think it was kind of a dick move for Dick to assume everybody that listens to foreign music is associated with drugs. ha.
