I have just completed this job in 2.5 hrs. Thank you for making this tutorial. I couldn't imagine doing it without this video. I agree that the bolts and screws can easily be lost, but attaching a small magnet to the tool being used solves this issue.
Thank you! I've just done the job and this video was very helpful...even if it did take me six hours to do it. I struggled with getting the door mirror under the window frame but eventually realised that you have to do it before fully sliding the frame down into the door. Also, the bolt that's hidden away in the end of the door is prone to falling off the torx driver and I was afraid I'd lose it inside the door, so after trying blue-tack, I superglued the bolt to the end of the torx driver and it worked! Thanks again for another informative video.
Thanks for the vid, it helped allot. It took little less than 2 hours. Only thing i did diffrently was that i removed old glue from the mat and door, and also put new hermedic under it. I reccomend you to do the same or it might start leaking. The whole point is to keep water and wind out. 😘
Very good video, especially torque values ! Only 1 thing missing ; side mirror cable mounts. They are assembled on window line.Must be carefully dismantled...

Just done this. Took 3 hours and a lot of patience. Getting the mirror back on is the hardest bit of the process to be fair. Shame this is skipped on video.
Very informative video, I enjoy the detail in all your videos so keep up the good work! Quick Q though, I have done this but on my B6 (virtually identical) however the window now seems to be letting in water from the outside silver trim it seems (between the window and outside rubber seal on the back of the chrome trim) and I'm not sure how this has happened though , any ideas ?
Very good tutorial. However you should have shown how to fit the side mirror after removal because it is very frustrating to do so. Pry tools needed to lift up rubber seals and takes quite some force to do so when reinstalling.
Yes, Its quite different on the CABriolet, just doing it now on my A4 B7 Cabriolet .......frozen windows,,,,,snapped cable! Agggghhh. Just fallen into the trap of trying to order a replacment cable. Unfortunately it looks impossible to just change the cable (£10)without the side spar assembly so now ordered that assembly. By the looks of it you have to get the window out before the side spars (window runners)
I did this in my passenger door like this video. But My switches are no longer working! Same with the door light. But the speakers and window works from the driver door. Any ideas ?
Was everything correctly assembled and connected? Without proper diagnostics it is difficult to say something, we recommend contacting the service of your car.
Where i can find screws & bolts for the door, i went to a bad service they lose some bolts damage the insulation and the door wasn’t closing correctly, i need the screws that fix the windows frame to the door, all of them can some one help me to find them ?
Thanks for this video!!!👍 did a change in drivers door.Took me 2 hours.I have no exp as a mechanic and I did the job with my amateur tools in the parkinkg lot at my house.🪛

Bolts can be purchased at a disassembly site or from an authorized dealer
Part Number please, having issues with which is right(passenger) and which is left(driver)
Why mark where the window will go if you need to put a new regulator on, that's pointless as the new one won't have the marks.....
