And that is why those paper maps are indispensable. Fun fact: Rommel got lost in the desert because he was taking magnetic compass readings while on top of his tank. They teach in orienteering to take magnetic readings you have to be away from large magnetic objects like maybe a KLR650...Maybe a cellphone shows magnetic reading differently, which I highly suspect they do, but just a thought. Great video and like your humbleness.
Thanks! I think this day is chalked up to user error. I don’t normally get this turned around, and it did not feel good. I hope to avoid repeat experiences. 😀
@@JeremyKroeker Getting turned around will be a low points in any trip. My friends call me the Human GPS and when I feel like I am not sure and turned around it is the worst feeling. Even though I use 2 types of GPSs (Garmin 660 for roads, and 700i for backcountry) and a local BRMB book on my KLR I carry the old tried and true real handheld compass as the start point when discombobulated. Keep up the great videos.
Jeremy, run tracks on Gaia, with brmb, when you have cell service or wifi, down load the maps to cover those tracks and you can't get lost in there. Just keep the map zoomed in, 200 - 500 meters, with your navigation on your handlebars and you will know within 30 or so meters if you are going down the wrong road. I figured with all your experience, you would have already a pro at gps navigation. You can look at a map all you want, but a gps will show you exactly where you are on that map. And with the map down loaded along your route, you don't need cell service to navigate.
This felt very familiar.. More often than not i find myself on another road than I planned, have to backtrack, and have no idea where I am, but I always find my way home. I just tell myself it's an adventure..
I tried this route last year with my brother, your correct about the Web of roads on that side of arrow lake. I had the route on my phone "google maps" but there is no cell coverage and I missed a turn and if you deviate your phone looses the route and can't calculate :( We got lost and ended up wrapping around the mountain and eventually ended up back at the Arrow park ferry. I'm going to do it again this year and get it right :)
Mr. Jeremy are you watching Ed March's new Mini-Jeep Adventure.? Goodness how I would love to see a video of you and him together on an Canadian Adventure. Did you watch "urAvgRider" MotoTrip to Yellowknife and back.? We should invite Critter_moto to come visit us in Calgary. Ooh speaking of invitations... did you ever see my last video that was made 2-weeks BEFORE Aug 27th.? ;-)
THAT's TRUE.! Count me out too. Hee hee It's better that we watch him achieve the unachievable from the comforts of our home. I cannot get over how funny that Interview you did with him years ago. I;d sure like to invite him back to Canada so you could do another Interview. Remember the problems he had in Quebec, I felt embarrassed that he experienced that here in our Country. 😞
An adventure was had and you have a story to tell
If you don’t know where you are going you can’t get lost. 😂🤣😂👍👍👏👏
The absolute best part of goggle maps, once the phone finds service, is the white roads on a light background.
I know, right?
I would have cried! Beautiful area and nice shirt. ❤
Hey. thanks! These shirts sell themselves. 😎
honesty is a bugger !
maps , phone, gps ,and I'm still getting lost!
Great video!!!
Thanks! Yeah, I could look better if I made different editorial choices. But I don’t wanna. 😎

I should get a proper compass. Thanks for the kind words.

You think I should know what I'm doing by now, but I still ride a KLR? 😂
We almost took that route Jeremy, nice to see you Scout it out for us 😁 enjoy your videos.
Thanks for watching! I love this area. I’ll be back … and I’ll do better next time. 😎

Yes. It’s frustrating in the moment, though. Thanks for watching. 😎
That was an interesting video!
Thanks for watching!
Great vid.
Thanks!
It’s so easy to get turned around out there! I’m sure it’s happened to more than a few of us.
Right? It’s never happened to me this bad before.

I went back and did it the proper way just a few weeks after I filmed this. It’s a much nicer and shorter ride when you don’t get lost. 😂
I probably would have panicked
It was disconcerting. I do not recommend. 😬
Where'd you get those earplugs? Look like the same ones I use at work.
I'm going to Canada from Mexico, I want to coincide

I probably shouldn’t go adventuring with Ed. I don’t think I can suffer like he can. 😎 @c90adventures

Story of my life, turned left, should have turned right.......
It’s just that ONE little mistake. 😂
