Betty's Taco Seasoning

Betty demonstrates how to make Taco Seasoning. This Taco Seasoning may be to flavor other Mexican-style dishes, such as burritos, tostadas, empanadas, or fajitas. For those of you who are not able to find packets of taco flavoring mix, this is a great substitute!
Taco Seasoning
3 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon oregano
1/8 teaspoon ground red cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons black pepper
1 tablespoon brown sugar
½ tablespoon ground cumin seed
1 tablespoon sea salt
In a small mixing bowl, stir together 3 tablespoons chili powder, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder,1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon oregano, 1/8 teaspoon ground red cayenne pepper, 2 teaspoons black pepper, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, ½ tablespoon ground cumin seed, and 1 tablespoon sea salt. Pour into clean glass jar with screw-on cap. Shake vigorously to distribute the herbs and spices. Use about 2 tablespoons of this Taco Seasoning for each pound of meat. Label your jar of leftover Taco Seasoning and save it with your spices. I hope you enjoy this recipe! --Betty :)
