RM great review of the L7 very nice 👍, BTW just so you know sleep mode is the proper way to shutdown any Bitmain miners, when the mining is mining and you unplug the power that can cause issues over time, especially in a very hot environment, the chips get very hot after you unplug the miner so to prevent that the sleep mode was added.

Gotcha I usually get rid of the stratum let it run for a bit to cool down then unplug them kinda like a big diesel engine lol

@@RabidMining lol nice that works too .. but yeah not their is a easier now, set it to sleep then by the time you walk to the miner it’s already cool down lol well depending how long is your walk lol

didn't you said that you won't buy L7 since L9 might come at the end of the year? asking because i'm also thinking to buy L7 but not sure if it is the right choose since L9's are on the horizon

What Bitmain needs to add to the firmware is a way to "schedule" toggling between normal and low-power mode. That would be handy for those of us on a Time-Of-Use power plan. My High-time power rate is 3x my Low-time power rate so I currently have to manually shutdown/restart around my High-time rate schedule.

That would be nice for some for sure.

Myself personally I’m waiting on the halving event of ltc. If prices don’t rise then we are looking at major reduction in rewards and subsequent drop in price for miner. Works out for ltc that it’s halving occurs before btc:). Hoping this plays out giving us miners an advantage of buying miner at cheapest point just before a bull run. Of course hard to say if any of it plays out. Thanks for the great vids Rabid!

Profits won't drop much from the halving

    Nice video!
Lots of people are looking for an in depth video of the HiveOn firmware on the L7 would make great content out of it especially since it won’t void your warranty because it’ll run off the sd card slot

Any chance you can do a review of the HiveOn L7 firmware? I am looking at it and the website says 6GH/s at 1960W. That would be some sweet efficiency and I could probably manage the power and heat in The Mining Cabinet. HiveOn lowest power mode would be about 3.06 MH/watt. I feel their numbers are probably fairly accurate. I have an S17 and it hits close to the hash and watts in the lowest power mode, but it is unstable...maybe an issue since I bought it very used.
