Oddly enough just today I plugged a USB stick with a movie on it into a Cube 3rd gen and as part of the prompt to say it had mounted the NTFS USB stick it also offered to play any movies on the stick with its own media player. I didn't have to launch any 3rd party apps such as VLC, the Cube seems to do it natively.
When you make these videos it would be nice if in this case you would have a follow-up video link to how to save movies to a flash drive to kind of complete the whole process of accomplishing what this video sets out to prove
Why? My 4K Max Firestick works GREAT! It does everything I need it to do. I have over 1100 Retro Games that I can play offline, I have my Live TV, and I can view content from my Personal Library by using a cheap 3 OTG cable. Learn how to use it instead of crying about it.
Lets say you are travelling somewhere and your hotel doesnt have internet. You can still plug in your firestick and watch movies direct from a USB drive - no internet needed !

You can save movies via a video capture card & OBS Studio (youtube has how-to videos) or convert DVD's to mp4 via WinXDVD or Handbrake
What about a hard drive or SSD? Will it play from that?
Ok, if I had known that the Cube does not have file size restrictions like the Stick, I would have bought one instead the latest Firestick ugh
yeah the 3rd gen cube is the only Fire TV device i've seen that support NTFS
My stick totally reset itself today,remote wouldn't connect and then I reconnected and it had factory reset 😮

You can get a 512GB flash drive, which can fit about 300 movies
