The reality of the sunk cost fallacy is assisting me to make sense of where I am today after last night foolishly throwing too much money into bloody poker machines at a popular registered Social Club which suckered huge patronage into their premises by advertising that large sums of cash were going to be given to a small number of lucky winners on the night, guaranteed, not carried over by unclaimed jackpots. I ignored the stupidity of my own actions cuz I was swayed by the seemingly enjoyable atmosphere of everyone around me who also happily threw their money into the greedy machines mindlessly too. What to do now? is the question plaguing my mind presently while my aching heart is struggling with the fact of my ignorant actions. Unrestrained ‘hope’ is a dangerous opioid to the psyche.
