It’s the history of the parachute. Not the military specifically. Skydiving and all the specifically engineered equipment that we use now came from the things that were being done by these early pioneers with the equipment they used then. It’s crazy to see how it’s progressed.
@@rc59191 ? How they hold multiple worldwide competitions every year around the world people are paid to specifically do it. I work full time in the sport yes it is a sport
great, but only touches on the military use, not materials or design. starts from the 1900s.. not capturing the intuitive process that went in earliest chutes.
I figured that! It’s a great video, I think the title is slightly misleading which causes a couple of people to nitpick. Parachutes began to become conceptualized around 890 AD, and then designed during the 1400s (renaissance). Those early designs led the way to the most commonly used types of parachutes today. WW1 more so just helped parachutes become produced, it wasn’t the US who invented them.
This is awesome to see earliest stages of the sport
Its for the war
sport?

Lol parachuting is not a sport dude.

They left out Leonardo Da Vince, who drew an illustration of a pyramidal parachute.
Interesting thanks👍🇳🇿
Nice!!!! I loved it!
The firs paratrooper unit was italian and was not mentioned

Nine minutes are a bit short to also adress those parts of the history.
Oo so 99% of today's technology was already developed in early 20th century
No shi
even drones. yeah.
Depends on what you mean by developed
@@eve_avery90% of technology what we called developed
You're just finding this out. Lol
In past made of hemp, now from kevlar and Dyneema
clearly not the history of the parachute
our technology comes from military uses which are then commercialized/introduced to the public
@@cabokramer308 the Wright brothers didn't invent the airplane with the intention of it being used by the military that came later.
yeah idk about this video's accuracy. parachutes started during the renaissance era.

And btw, da Vinci only did one of the early designs, some other Italian dudes made the others designs.
