I love Mike. He seems so uncomfortable in time and space. He constantly adjusts himself - he is the human version of realizing that you are covering yourself with your blanket horizontally and cant figure out how to turn it vertically to cover yourself.
Once Nick DiPaolo got fired, I guess they decided, Hey, lets get the most monotone, boring schmuck to drivel about every 25min. after Artie kills it... and Jon Ritchie fits that mold perfectly. Even his "expertise" - football - is mediocre. If this show were on today, Artie and BeastMode Marshawn would produce ratings thru the roof! As Artie says though, "Shut up, Jon, Shut up"

There was a lot of dull sports talk filler and the highlights - the diamonds in the muck as it were - were the rare moments like these.

It wasn't easy for him because he wasn't funny, and he didn't have great insight into sports even though he was a pro athlete. On-air positions are highly coveted, if it was too hard for him, which clearly it was because he was horrible, then he and/or the producers of the show should've gotten him out of there.
