    This video shows how I bonded my male and female pair of rabbits with my trio (2 females, 1 male) into a group of 5! The bond took 11 days and I filmed the whole process! I have gone through hours and hours worth of footage to get this video together so I really hope it helps some of you out! Good luck to anyone bonding rabbits!

    Thank you for the super detailed video. I'm a first time rabbit owner and trying to bond a pair who just don't seem to want to cooperate. It's really reassuring to see a video where the rabbits have a few hiccups to show that it can work out!

      Yeah, I might be getting two male Rabbits, and I'm super nervous about them bonding with each other, and I know one of my rabbits had history of getting along with males and he's not neutered, so hopefully it will be okay, but I'm still nervous (they are both going to get neutered before they even become introduced to each other)

      Rianna Talento was it scary at first? I’m trying to bond mine using this method but it is not going well, they attacked each other at first sight and they are both being so aggressive, yet both of them had flopped within the first fifteen minutes! So i’m very confused and i don’t know if my bunnies with bond, thoughts?

    • @RiannaTalento
      @RiannaTalento 3 года назад

      @@carissasammons3394 Hi! Yes it was pretty scary at first. My girl, Luna, kept chasing and attacking my boy, Theo, which caused him to retaliate. However for me, the fighting only lasted for a day. The next day I put the bunnies in a carrier for a stress bonding car ride which helped TREMENDOUSLY. There wasn't anymore fighting after that. After the car ride I would put them in half a bath tub and then increase their space if they continued to do well. I don't mean to promote my videos, but I actually have a video documenting the whole process - ruclips.net/video/QU2mQnxmlxI/видео.html I never want to be that annoying person that promotes their videos but I want to help you as much as I can! ❤️

      Did you ever get them bonded again? Or have you had to separate? I've always known males and females to get along better than same sex pairs. I did have a mother and daughter pair who were bonded, but I think it was mostly due to the daughter being her baby.

      @@tamielynne7374 Sadly, I never did. I figured it wasnt worth either of them getting injured and there was no guarantee that if I bonded them they wouldnt just start fighting again. Although I highly doubt I could have bonded them. Instead I have separated them, but they are right beside each other and can groom and lay against each other still only with wire to keep them both safe. They seem pretty happy with it and I know it isnt the best but it will do! I dont want them hurting or killing each other :)

    This is amazing that you got all those rabbits together and they continue to stay together. We have 3 females that are sisters and we got them when they were 7 weeks old. At 5 months we had them spayed and that is when all the trouble began. The sweetest rabbit turning into a fighting machine and previously she was the lowest ranked one that was normally picked on. Had to keep all 3 of them separated and it was terrible when trying to reintroduce them. The veterinarian suggested a slow process that they have brief visits and we have tried this method for almost 4 months now. Two of them get along well now but the third one still wants to fight. We have kept them all close together in the same hutch but with a divider to keep them from fighting and now 2 of them stay in the same area together. Seems like many different opinions on how to bond them so we are a bit confused about which is best. The Lady from the rabbit society said we were crazy to get 3 females but at the time it didn't seem like a problem since they were all sisters anyway and they were great together until their surgery. Are we trying to do something that will never work? Do you have any suggestions that could help us to get all 3 of them like they were before? They seem frustrated and unhappy now and we wish that we didn't get them spayed in the first place at this point.🙁

    • @mypamperedpets
      @mypamperedpets  3 года назад +1

      Hi! It can be both 😊 Rabbits can be confusing but this is the research I've read:
      'A top bunny will request grooming from a subordinate by laying her head flat on the ground close to the other rabbit, often pushing her head under his chin. She may return the favour at times as an act of affection but generally speaking the top bunny gets much more grooming from her subordinate(s).
      Confusingly, rabbits also lay their heads on the ground to show submission and you may often see subordinate rabbits doing this but the usual response from top bunny is either to ignore or give a quick ear or eye lick.'
      Primrose is definitely top bun now haha and when she puts her head down it is definitely because she is boss 😂 However in the bonding situation I could see she was nervous and was putting her head down to show no threat. Thanks for the info though!

    Amazing video! I watched your videos on bonding 3 bunnies and I have three to bond myself. I was just wondering which you found better... bonding like you did with the 3, a bit more space.. or if it was better/easier to have them in a smaller space, like with your 5?
    Thank you so much for your very helpful and inspiring videos!❤❤ I feel like I have the confidence to bond my buns now! ☺ thanks again!

      Thank you! 😁 Both bonds worked out for me so I wouldn’t say one was better than the other. I just did what was best for each situation. With the 5 I already knew the boys hated one another so needed to get them in the smallest space possible. I think it just depends on the rabbits. Probably best to start with something small though and just keep extending as and when needed :) Good luck with bonding!

    I am thinking about bonding two pairs but one of my bunnies, Laku is a very dominant and temperamentic boy so I will try to adopt two bonded girls that are more agreeable and calm with my pair Laku and Vilma that I have now. This was really interesting to watch not many bunny owners out there that are bonding 5 rabbits! But I was thinking the other day that isn't it even more natural for rabbits to be in a group than in pairs because in nature they are always in groups

    I'm on day 5 of bonding my 2 boys with my new little lady. She has no desire to interact with them! Boy 1 licks her which she will tolerate for a short while before she moves away. Boy 2 has struggled to accept her and at first (I did 6 weeks of playdates before the 24/7 method) he would lunge and bite her. Now he wants to sit with her but she runs off. On day 2 girl bun licked boy 2 (she has never licked any of them until this point), so it seemed progress was made however she won't stay near either boy for long. She just doesnt seem to want to interact although they are all now tolerating eachother. Do I just wait until they start connecting?

    This video is making me wanna try adding a third to my pair... already been considering it XD But I'm worried what would happen if they don't bond as I don't have space for another enclosure... • @mypamperedpets

      Ah thats the risk with getting another! What you could do though is go to a reputable rescue and ask to adopt on the premise that the new rabbit bonds with your pair. If it doesn’t work out they will go back to the rescue but make sure it’s a good rescue that is happy for you to attempt this.

    I’ve recently rescued two rabbits, initially believed to be females that then started fighting, despite growing up for the last 5 months together they started fighting, so I booked them into the vet to get spayed which later determined they were both males, I’ve had them separate for the last week prior surgery but have been sharing a room separated by a cage so they can get used to each other again. Today I put them together for the first time as they were laid flopping next to each other separated by the cage but then instantly started chasing and biting each other. I’m completely new to the bonding and rabbit ownership so any advice would be greatly appreciated

    I have a question. I have a male and a bunny we believe a female we cant really tell yet. I introduced them and it didnt go well. My male was grooming her ears and she wasnt happy about it and went under my male. I had to pull her out from under and then she went after him again and i picked her up and she bit me. None of my rabbits are fixed yet. The girl is roughly 9 weeks old. My male is 1 year and 4 months. Ive been told that a lot of people have to keep their females away from the males for the males protection. Im at a loss bc i wanted them to bond but everytime i try the girl tries to bite him. I could really use some advice and yes i plan on fixing one of them at least to avoid babies

    I've bonded I think 5 pairs in the past and am working on a trio (a M-F pair and a new F). I've usually had better luck with large spaces but considering trying a smaller space because the girls have been nervous around each other in large spaces. When you're trying this technique, when do you decide that it's working or it's not? Or rather, how long would you keep pushing through before deciding it wasn't working? I'm terrified of a three-bunny tornado! Plus one of my buns is a senior (12!) so want to make sure he doesn't get caught in the cross-fire.

    • @mypamperedpets
      @mypamperedpets  4 года назад +1

      Hi it can take time and fights can happen but it doesn't necessarily mean if won't work. If they're huge lock on fights that don't seem to be calming then I would give up but I would definitely give it my best shot and only split if absolutely necessary. This bond took 11 days so I definitely stick it out if I can. Good luck! X

    • @MortonDana
      @MortonDana 3 года назад

      @@mypamperedpets Thanks so much for responding! A trio just feels so different than a duo (and hard to stay motivated when you already have a happy pair!). Have you ever found it easier to bond a quad vs. a trio? Wondering if it would be easier to do my single with another, then bring the group together, so she wouldn't be third wheel (there is also this little young male at the rescue that I might be in love with.. so might try a speed date with the group once he's neutered). I also might be moving in a month or so, which would mean ample neutral space (yay!). Considering even bringing them all in the same carrier on the 4.5 hour drive to see if that gets things off on the right foot, then just marathoning from there in the new place...but I do worry about TOO much stress. But then I figure the car will be stressful regardless, might as well make some use of it? Sorry for all the questions! There aren't many people with lots of experience with trios and groups!
