I can get where you are coming from. On my end, I can say the more I head Muse after this review, the more their work grew on me. It's entirely possible not enough listens were given.
I think both scores are about right for this album reason being is that on most of the songs they kind of got an electronic sound that can be a little much at times but the messages of each are hit or miss to fit the mood of each song. I'm not going to score this because I'm bias as far as electronic sounding music & I feel that if your using that kind of sound it should be done really well as a way to draw new listeners in but it's just my opinion. Since you mentioned Mars did you know that the word Cairo in Egypt means Mars? Something else you might want to check out is the Dogon tribe. Good review!
One last thing, all those who have sold out have a headache as they wear a smile on their face. So the price of the spotlight isn't worth it in most cases. Most wish they could go back to being themselves & that's probably why there's so many in the spotlight with an addiction, reality is a bitch when you have to cater to the standards.

Map of the Problematique is widely considered a masterpiece among the Muse fan base, each to their own though.
Since we did this review, I've learned so much about music I doubt I even feel the same way. I was still in my get over myself phase of life.
