50 people died in the Marriott World Trade Center (mainly firefighters who staged their operations there) there’s a story of a businessman who was staying on one of the higher floors and only decided to leave a couple minutes before the second tower collapsed, he was aided by firefighters and he saw the debris crush the hotel, luckily he was in the small sliver of the hotel that wasn’t crushed and made his way down the staircase, they made their way to the third floor before the first tower collapsed, in another stroke of luck that section of the hotel was the only part that remained up and he and several firefighters survived and made their way out of the rubble
That video was called The 9/11 Hotel - ruclips.net/video/AfygCVvW-lc/видео.html Also, the hotel was originally called The Vista International Hotel (Vista with a "T") not the Visa Hotel.
If I remember right, it went from Vista to Marriott after the 1993 bombing, and during said repairs they added that big glass overhang to the entrance.
In 2001, I was looking at reserving a hotel for a trip I was taking to New York. Normally, I would stay at a closet-sized room in Mid-town, paying an arm and a leg for the privilege. Checking around, I found a reasonably priced room downtown at the Marriott World Trade Center Hotel. While a bit out of the way, I booked the room looking to save some money. I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious the room was along with its other amenities. I stayed three nights and vowed to stay there again whenever I traveled to NYC. This was late August, 2001. The day after the attacks, I received in the mail a letter from Marriott containing a survey asking me to rate my stay at their hotel. I shudder to think what it would have been like if I had been there the morning of the attacks.
My father wanted to take my mother there for their anniversary to the Windows on the World. Their anniversary is in September. It wouldn't have been that year but he was planning it.
I get chills whenever you mention that it rained the night of september 10th. I don't know why, its just so eerie to imagine. My heart breaks when i think about those 3,000 innocent people who spent their last night alive, completely unaware of what was to come.
It also was raining when I took some pics of the WTC 1 and 2 and the Marriott from the ferry to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty on 12 Aug 2001 according to the time stamp. The way the clouds split the towers was eerie.
There was an FBI informant doing a sting operation at the restaurant in the Marriott hotel (WTC3) when the attack started. I think it was a tax evasion case or something like that he was investigating with the sting operation. He secretly brought a recording device hoping to get an incriminating statement from the suspect he was meeting with on tape. That recording contained raw audio from both planes hitting as there was chaos and panic all over the place, it was quite bone chilling to listen to.

Like seriously, even if they were still standing you would want to demo/redesign some of those buildings, something happened you can’t just come back from...
All that stuff was in the plaza it's in pictures and videos including the Guy Rosbrook video and many others. There was video from the evening before of the group practicing until the rain got to bad.
The photo from 2:10 to 2:55. I can’t be the only one that thinks about the scene in Fight Club with that thing. Every time I see it. I think about that scene and of course it was funny from late 1999 to September 10, 2001.
I watched the other video, bro. Idk, I like your videos. I always figured some of it was just illustrations behind words
If you look up the Marriott WTC3 on Wikipedia it shows a picture of that stage in the plaza on September the 11th so it may be a genuine picture on September the 10th, unless it’s just a picture of the stage set up some other time
The “M” in the Marriott logo is kinda foreshadowing the whole thing 😢
The stage AND the chairs in the photo of the hotel on the night of September 10 were there on the morning of the 11th. There is a photo of it after the towers had been hit but before the buildings collapsed and you can see it and the chairs with rubble in the plaza in this video. ruclips.net/video/tq9JpWhC72Y/видео.htmlsi=_wgc24hGAX-aSlRZ&t=8369 (Photo on the right hand side.)
I didn't know The Mariot hotel was gone
I've always had a curiosity about this hotel because I worked in hotel management for around ten years after i graduated from college.
I stayed in the Marriott one year before the attacks on the month of December and it was amazing, just like your photos.
I stayed at the Marriott in August of 2001. Third floor, North tower end , street side.
Would’ve been cool to show the split (after the towers fell) building
I remember when i was in a Marriott hotel and i read a book where mentioned about that hotel
This was a great video. Thank you for sharing all those pictures
Personally I think the hotel was so close to the Towers that it blocked both of them from getting light.
lot of twin tower content recently
I stayed in that hotel. I think it was in 1995 or 1996.
Anyone knows what 3D model this is?
Don’t give them any ideas
Love these. Going to join your group.
Sept 11 obsession.
I never forgot the hotel 😤
Why forgotten ?

The old penn station please!
Do a vid about the old Philly sports complex , veteran stadium, spectrum and Kennedy baseball field I believe.
8:12 9/11 was on a Wednesday.

It was on a Tuesday. It's not that hard to look up on your calendar.
It was a bright and cloudless Tuesday
