A reason of why glasses are so expensive now are because alot of brands are all actually owned by one company called luxottica and they own ray-ban, Oakley, Prada, Versace, target optical, Lens Crafters sunglasses hut and more.
Also imo blue light filter *helping* is not proven to be true.
I liked the glasses, The anti-reflective seemed to make a big difference!

As a retired optician everyone that wears glasses and especially anyone that wears their glasses all the time or nearly all of the time should have an AR coating (anti-reflective) on their lenses. It greatly reduces glare and reflections. It's really great that pretty much all of the on-pine sites either offer that coating at no additional charge to their lenses or it's a $5.00 option. The local optical shops offer it but at anywhere from $45.00 to $100.00 or more.
Your also right about Luxottica being a monopoly. They really are.

So what were you thinking when you were playing volleyball wearing glasses? I'm just kidding. You wear your glasses all the time so I'm sure it never crossed your mind that playing volleyball could result in your glasses getting hit and broken. You were lucky that they didn't break but just got bent a bit out of shape. But at least you still had your glasses in somewhat wearable condition. Had they gotten broken and you were needing to drive home that would have been a serious problem for you because seeing your prescription you can't see to drive without your glasses which I'm sure you are very well aware of. By the way I should mention that I was an optician for many years so I know exactly what your able to see without glasses now and it isn't very much at all. Everything is pretty blurry when you take your glasses off. I'm glad you got several pairs of glasses. I would highly suggest that you put one pair in your cars glove compartment just in cases anything were to ever happen to your glasses so you wouldn't be without glasses. I can't tell you how much I hated going to work on Monday mornings. Why you might ask? Well over the weekend people find so many ways of breaking or loosing their glasses and then they are in dire need for new glasses and they aren't happy when I had to tell them that the best I could do would be 3 or 4 days to get hem new glasses. I'm sure you have never given any thought about your glasses when you have been around or in a river, lake, ocean or even a stream that if your glasses were to fall into the water you very likely may never see them again. Or been at an amusement park and riding one those twisting turning upside down at high speeds that your glasses could very easily be blown off of your face and land who knows where.
Now you were questioning the value of some of the add-ons as to how necessary any of them really are. I'm only 50/50 on the blue light blocking and so is most optometrists as well. But I can say that I have many patients that sing their praises and feel they work really well with screen use. I can say this, there is no harm in getting it added if you don't mind the $16.95 cost. It also comes with the AR coating as well which that alone would be $5.00 and I do highly suggests that to everyone that wears glasses and especially someone like you that wears their glasses all the time. I'm sure that you have been driving at night and suddenly been blinded by oncoming car headlights hitting your glasses just right and blinding you. The AR coating is a great help with that alone. By the way, Zenni as you saw offers several versions of their AR coatings and I would call it Good, Better and Best. The Good is only $5.00 and honestly that is what I have been ordering for my own families glasses. Now I'm sure the Better and Best is even even better. But you should at least get the $5.00 version for sure. I heard you say that you have done your PD yourself using a regular ruler which makes me ask you why you didn't get it from where you go for your eye exam and have no doubt gotten glasses from at some point in your adult life. Your PD doesn't change once your an adult. I am aware that some places were refusing or wanting to charge people to provide them with their PD measurement. But really only very few were doing that. And I will say this if you were going to one that was doing that you should have never gone back to them again. That means their not a good provider to you and your needs. I am encouraging you to make a point of getting your exact PD measurement. If your prescription was much weaker that it is and you were only a part time wearer, then having the PD off a bit wouldn't be an issue. But your prescription is enough that you need fulltime vision correction which means wearing your glasses all the time. So the PD is more critical for you. Here's why its important. As your eyes are looking through the lenses of your glasses they should be looking exactly where that PD point for each eye is when looking straight through your glasses. If your off say even three millimeter with each eye that means your eyes are being pulled in the direction of what you said the PD was for that eye and not quite straight thorough your lenses properly. You don't want your eyes being pulled outward or inward.
What did you use to determine what width you needed for your new glasses to be? I'm asking because the very first pair is a bit too wide for your face size. The second pair is better fit on you. Something I'm curious about which I hope I'm wrong about. The clear glasses that you didn't seem as comfortable with the prescription. Your right when getting even a slight increase in your prescription it can take your eyes a little time to adjust which is very normal. But I saw two different prescription in your order form. In most of them it had it as being the same for both eyes at -2.25 -.50 with 2 and 170 as the axis numbers. But I saw another that had you at R -2.25 -1.00 2 / L -2.00 -1.00 170. So I don't know which one if either you used to order your glasses with. But if ordered one with one and the other with the other prescription then that would explain why one pair of glasses seemed perfect and the other didn't. If I can ever be of any help to you please feel free to ask me.

@@LALIVIN Probably not. You do know that Zenni has sport glasses that have your prescription put into them which are made for playing sports and much safer for you as well. When your glasses got hit with the volleyball you were lucky the frame didn't break and cut your face or even worse cut an eye. The lenses now a days are shatterproof which is great, but the frames can easily be broken and a sharp edge could cut you. I'm sure your eyesight isn't so bad that you couldn't paly volleyball without your glasses and only a little bit of blurriness. Playing tennis or softball you would likely need your glasses for that. I managed a women's softball team many years ago, before the days of contacts. Several of my girls had gotten glasses and they no longer were able to the ball very well without their glasses.
