Mortal Instruments: City of Bones turns 10 today Another one of my favorite movies of 2013!!! I don't hate this movie, but I do understand the massive issues other people have with it Based on the best-selling book series by Cassandra Clare clearly this is trying to follow in the footsteps of 'Twilight' being so popular SONY Pictures and Harald Zwart adapt the series starring Lily Collins, CCH Pounder, Lena Headey, Jamie Campbell-Bower, Kevin Zegers, Jemina West, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, and Jared Harris in another one of the many YA novel phenomenons The film attempts to open a new mythology with the Shadowhunters and the various monsters I do admire the costumes, the weapons, the props, and the ultra gothic feel they’re going for The special effects are pretty solid and the action sequences are easy to follow because the camera lingers on them long enough without any of the fast-paced editing getting in the way Thankfully the romance in here isn't that heavily focused on and you have a great assortment of actors I really like Lily Collins a lot in this but it's a shame Meyers is only in the movie towards the last half Not to mention the filmmakers try to cram so much stuff in over 2 hours so it can't help feel bit jumbled as a whole plus there’s various subplots that get dropped too quickly The humor in certain scenes keeps it afloat whether it's intentional or not I give them props too they’re not afraid to explore homoerotic themes It's got a great soundtrack, a sweeping score, some clever plot twists, and the finale has plenty going on to keep busy This is clearly for the tween audience members so obviously there will those who dismiss it entirely claiming it emasculates things It’s sad the film got immensely negative reviews and bombed at the box office but thankfully it got a second redemption when it turned into a TV series At least it tried so maybe it’ll get another resurgence in the future…who knows but I don’t hate this like so many are saying
Twilight is fun. I watched the first half hour on Demand and nope. Just nope. Not even us Twilight fans wanted to see this movie. Twilight has more action scenes and cinematography than this movie.
13:09 to 13:45, did that really happen?
Drew Gars yes. Just look it up on RUclips. The demon killer jace really does bitch out lol

I really like Lily Collins a lot in this but it's a shame Meyers is only in the movie towards the last half
Not to mention the filmmakers try to cram so much stuff in over 2 hours so it can't help feel bit jumbled as a whole plus there’s various subplots that get dropped too quickly
The humor in certain scenes keeps it afloat whether it's intentional or not

This movie's so goddamn self-serious but the book is fun and slightly self-aware
Well shit its a real Harry Potter fanfic turned into a movie
