    I don't doubt you are doing what is necessary but why can't you reach the connector for the CMOS battery with just the removal of the inner frame? Why do you need to keep going and remove the motherboard?
    Remove bottom shell - remove battery - remove inner frame - there is the CMOS battery looking at you.

      Ed, haha you're right it looks like the cmos could have been pulled out without removing the motherboard. You're probably correct. Rick does all the teardown footage at once so this is all he had of removing the cmos. I think we need to be more personalized with each part though and find the fastest most logical method. Of course! lol

      @Ed_Stucky, the reason is, the battery (where you see it) is only a mounting point for it, not the electrical connection. The battery has wires that connect on the underside of the motherboard and you can’t get to that connector without doing all this. I just encountered this today. The only stupid design decision I’ve seen so far on this machine.

    This is Battery that usually used to keep time and date up to date. But my Laptops aren't use it. Maybe use GPS or new things, not CMOS battery

    What are the main reasons that needs to be replaced?

      Bios batteries may stop holding a charge overtime. So need to be replaced.

      No. This CMOS battery is not rechargeable.
