This character literally became my favorite in 5 minutes cause of how skilled and badass he is. Then he gets killed off in the same episode, this show is torture
If it makes you feel better, in the manga he and some other convicts had taken over a kotan, killed all the men, and “took” the women of the kotan as their “wives”....
@@FaeQueenCory Yeah, that does help
It really sucks they cut out this convict's arc from the anime. There were bears in the arc which might've been why they cut it out since it really looks like they're trying to avoid animating scenes that involve bears this season lol
Spoiler alert 😂
@@FaeQueenCory What chapter
Fun fact, in WWII, the Japanese army used the Satsuma dialect to encypt their messages so even if their enemies leaned Japanese, they wouldn't be able to understand.
And as a bonus fun fact, the americans did the very same thing with some native american languages
@@user-zz3sn8ky7z cherokee or navajo i believe
The scene that established second Lt KOITO as an unpredictible foe.
when you know almost no Japanese and thus the Satsuma dialect sounds exactly the same as regular Japanese
@Rowen Thomas seems like you have no idea what his point was
@@Rolle-vx9ot I mean I can't speak Japanese either but the cadence and lilt to the words is still audible. Someone who can't speak English could still tell the difference between two distinct accents after listening to them for a while.
@@KaregoAt i noticed that sastuma dialect has the sound of "DD" and "MM" that in standard japanese doesn't exit but in ancient japanese yes so i deduce that sastuma dialect is more archaic
@ yes i think the actor is not a real speacker of Satsuma-ben.....
@ Well it's not a different language, even though it's largely unintelligible to standard Japanese it doesn't mean the actor simply reading something he doesn't understand. Other Japanese dialects have different words for things too, and different cadences and ways to weigh words. To me it doesn't sound like someone just reading lines without understanding since the way of speaking is consistent throughout. I also can't imagine that a series so focused on authenticity when it comes to Ainu culture and language would fudge this part either.
The Satsuma dialect reminds me of other Italian dialects that sound like each other.
To the untrained ear they do.
Calabrese
Killed because he doesn’t drink. Wouldn’t “I don’t drink as much as I used to” kinda be an acceptable answer? No hesitation damn
I mean, I've seen it translated as "Inudou is a teetotaler" so him saying he doesn't drink as much as he used to would still give him away if the real Inudou doesn't drink at all.
@@KaregoAt i don't speak japanese so i guess i can't comment really, but is it more literal in Japanese? Cause in english saying something like "not as much as i used to" could either be interpreted as "I still drink but less" or "I don't drink anymore" depending on the persons tone.
@@warhawk9566 Yes, it could depend, but both are the "wrong answer" if the man supposedly is and has been against drinking altogether.
He did say fried satsuma-age is the perfect snack for drinking, which makes some suspicion
@@KaregoAt sorry, late, but the sub said "couldn't drink" so it's not that he's against it, it's that he's unable to for whatever reason (maybe even a health reason)
1:41 Koito used his stand: KING CRIMSON !
SO THATS WHERE IVE HEARD HIS VOICE BEFORE
I'm currently reading volume 10 and wanted to look up the Satsuma dialect after chapter 98. This video popped up. I didn't even know GK was made into anime until now.
I'm curious how the Dub Koito will sound Thursday. So far Koito is simply comic relief and I call him a "Rich Bitch".
His fight against Yulbars was badass
One of the great parts of this show is everybody speaking in their own language. Dubbing it is almost pointless.

JUST CAME TO SAY THAT ANGRY SATSUMA MAN IS GOING TO BE ANGRY ITALIAN MOB BOSS
OH SHIT I DIDN'T EVEN RECOGNIZE HIM
What
Epic old man gets murdered in cold blood...
0:32 The dark lord ?
Anime out of context is even weirder than it used to be
Satsuma Dialect is interesting.
IT ESCALATED SO QUICKLY
I'm here after reading the manga 🙆♀️🙆♀️🙆♀️
Bruh when I was watching this with my Japanese wife, she asked me to turn on the English subs lol
Damn this makes me want to re watch it hopefully season 5 comes out this anime is so good
It still feels like their faces don't have enough angles.
Koito is sexy
Awesome Golden Kamuy Video.
Are we talking about the same chin chin ?
I’ve watched enough pink guy to know what chinchin means
Who else can not tell the difference between dialects?
Chinchin....
You don’t know enough Japanese then. They are quite easy to tell apart.
Because you don't speak the languages that's why. If you know the languages, you'd know the difference. As a German speaker myself, I even notice the Bavarian accents plus the German spoken in Austria and Switzerland
