I grew up in Christchurch and the minute I left late 2000's knew I never wanted to come back and been living and working abroad in Africa, Europe and now Asia where am permanently. The way you showcase the city makes even me want to come back! Great video - there is much to like about this city again, even if the recovery is so painfully slooooooow. Things are progressing, and a great hop off for tourists to spend a few days. Christchurch is the gateway to the magic of the South Island, without doubt - and much is available locally outside the Queenstown tourist hub. Love the video.

The Ski part was heart/soul/mind blowing. It literally refereshed me for a minute, threw me into another world. Cool visual effect on that part as well.

The street art looks gorgeous, especially the penguin 🐧. The weather is like Melbourne or The Netherlands: 4 seasons in one day 🌦. That evening walk is beautiful, reminds me of Kangaroo Point in Brissie. Even driving is a gift over there with the scenery around 🏞. Oh and by the way, I booked my first trip by air since Australia in January 2020. I'm going to Tenerife in October 2021, so happy to finally travel again 😁! @@travelforphoebe yes. First time we were there was 2012 a year after the earthquake and it took them a very long time to rebuilding everything. Our last time was 5years ago. We are so keen to coming back in couple years time ❤

Thank you, thank you, thank you for these great recommendations! You made our layover trip to Christchurch perfect! Riverside is something I wish my hometown had (and that Dosa was indeed excellent). Unknown Chapter had great coffee (according to Erin…good hot chocolate for me!). And the Tramway is the best way to see the city. It was fascinating to see how much the city has progressed even in the short time from with this was made. Thank you again, Phoebe!

It's fair to say,you like a burger or 10,i hear ya,me too.Perth has heaps of places now,1 is in top 10 and 1 is in the top 20 in the world. Wellington has 1 in the top 5.

I was in Christchurch 4 years and looks like it’s transformed even more. I did skiing for the very first time and went to Porters. Any beginner slopes at Mount Hutt?
Yes! Absolutely! Christchurch has grown so much over the last few years - I think we were there roughly 3 years ago and it has just changed so much since then. Yep, there are some great green runs at Mount Hutt, it's a really friendly ski field :) Phoebe x

My son has experience and qualifications but employers don't give letter to extend visa or for apply for PR. All the companies are like that. Especially foodstuffs chain of companies
And yet it still looks so empty of people :(
So sad to see how many people and their businesses have suffered the last few years. Hopefully as more people visit again they can get back on their feet 🙏🏼

Christchurch hardly any business left in Christchurch.
No at all true, many businesses fled to suburban business parks etc after the 2011 Earthquakes., but its clear they are slowly returning to the CBD over time.

bahahaha so true! NZ is definitely not a budget spot compared to places like Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam :) So gorgeous though, I'm glad I got to do a big road trip! It's a trip I'll treasure forever. Phoebe x
