I'm picking up my single barrel version tomorrow, second hand but mint £300...getting gold kluson locking tuners and tone and volume knobs too so just under 400 for what seems like the complete guitar ... Such a stunner for that kind of dough..
Got one a couple years ago, Beautiful guitar and plays really well. The model of the Bigsby on these is a pretty cheap one and squeaks no matter how much I lube the spring. The pickups are the downside. very dark and really difficult to dial in the tone on any of my amps. On the plus side picked it up on sale at GC for $399.

I would think that a semi hollow with P 90 pick ups would be a good choice for sure. You can get some great tones out of this guitar.
